I love this Flame Broiler and it's overdue for an update! Been coming to this location since the mid 2000s, like how I mentioned in my previous review. The food is simple! Meat, rice and sauce (vegetables if you want). The meat is always grilled fresh and the sweet owner is always warm and sincere! I usually call in to avoid waiting. So last month I phoned in an order for pick up. An all white meat chicken bowl cooked in no sauce with an extra side of meat also cooked in no sauce. I come to pick up my order and there was barely any meat in my bowl and my extra side of meat was filled 3/4ths of the way. I even weighed it on my food scale at home and it weighed 3 oz. For 6 dollars, that cup should be full, or at least the 5oz it is advertised for. Now that was a one time thing so I just brushed it off, even though I was definitely pissed. Messed up the protein count for the day. Now today I ordered online, this time 2 bowls all white meat chicken cooked in sauce along with 2 sides of white meat chicken also cooked in sauce. I come to pick up my order 10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. Both sides of meat nowhere to be found. Had to wait to wait an extra 10 minutes. It's definitely sad because this is the first flame broiler location, you'd think they'd be on top of it. Love this place and pray they do better in the future. read more

It's a franchise and for some reason some franchises just get low ratings. The few times I've had Flame Broilers have always been good, healthy choice of food. Simply flavored protein with blanched veggies and rice with a little raw green onions on top for freshness. I mean it's nothing to rave about, but solid healthy option when you haven't packed lunch. If you eat it rationally, you shouldn't be left feeling like it lacked in any category of meat, veggie flavor, or carb. Solid all around healthy fast food. read more

This is the worst flame broiler! Don't come here with children and dine in. They don't have a bathroom for their customers and don't make exceptions. They tell you to go across the parking lot to Walgreens across the street or the gas station. their dining tables are stool countertop type and their high chairs don't match up to the countertop. Worst dining experience! The parking lot is horrible and the parking stalls are really small. They brag this is the original location which means nothing, except that it needs an update. Crap location is more like it. A restaurant not having a restroom for their customers is unacceptable!! I hate coming here but my wife insists on torturing the family. read more

As a fan of Korean BBQ beef and Korean BBQ chicken I was quite pleased by this place, I mean, this is a fast food joint. The service was great, did not see the owner, was served by a young freindly latina. The place was clean, well organized, except for a smudge or two(no big deal). Parking(WOW), about 2-3 spots per business in this small striplet area, I believe about 4 other business. at the wrong time, you may not find a spot. Drinks & condiments you can get all the condiments, forks etc at the counter, there is also two sauces at the booth/table areas. A good soda fountain with coke, sprite, ice tea, and a few more. Chicken Bowl I had the chicken bowl, my choice of onions/no onions. These were some good green onions. For fast food, this chicken was great, so much flavor, like it was pre-seasoned, like any good Korean-BBQ. It did not have that "too much season" flavor or the "obvious MSG" flavor. Rice looked like Jasmin rice, so they get an extra point. I loved thier teriyaki sauce. Beef I ordered a side of beef, because I though thier chicken bowl was goinng to be small, I was wrong, still, this food was so tasty I finished it all. The beef was great, it reminded me a bit like the flavor of Mexican style "Carna Asada" seasoning, but more like Korean buffet seasoning. Anyhow, I would like some more. Next time I come by, I will try the brown rice and kimchi. read more

The ingredients are relatively high quality but the flavor was lacking without dousing it with the sauce which they provide on the side. This location has become a favorite spot of mine. So far, all my visits have been good. Great customer service, good food, fast service, and overall good experiences every time. I wish the bowls were a little bigger, and I say that as the food is pretty good so I naturally want more. I usually get chicken with rice and veggies, sometimes substitute rice for more vegetables. Simple meal, tastes good, and fills me up for the most part. Clean restaurant, small parking lot - but its usually easy to find a spot. I would eat Flame Broilers over Yoshinoya anytime! The meat: chicken and beef plates are really good--they say it's healthy but it does not taste like it! Very flavorful and vegetables does not taste overly steamed and soaked with MSG! The kimchi tastes pretty decent but can not compare to kimchi at korean bbq restaurants. A Flame Broiler eatery recently opened in Sherman Oaks, which is the closest to where I live in Hollywood. Pretty good. Nice staff where I went to and again... When you visit Flame Broiler it is like you are visiting family, she just tries to take care of all her customers. Example: I recently visited this location after a long night at 9:55A. I thought I'd have to wait but they were already opened. I order a combo plate and she informed me that the beef was not ready, but no biggie I just ordered the Chicken plate. After I ordered, she gave me a free drink because the beef was not ready. That is pretty cool right? Well it continues. As I'm trying to get some Magic Sauce into the container, I miss the container and it goes down my jacket sleeve. DAMM It.. She sees me trying to clean my jacket and kept asking if I was okay. I told her I was fine and continued to try and clean my jacket. She then figured out what happen and gave me 2 Clorox Wipes to clean my jacket and BAM the stickiness was gone. After all of this... she gives me my meal and says " Oh by the way we were able to get the beef out in time" and she did not even charge me. This Flame Broiler is run by this funny asian woman who's really friendly in that "I'm kind of awesome, but i don't speak English well enough to not come off as crazy" kind of way. She's really nice though, if you become a regular she starts giving you a free drink with your rice bowl. The rice bowls are pretty tasty, but also pretty basic. Chicken/meat/vegetables or any combination of those and white/brown rice. The magic sauce doesn't lie about its properties. I haven't met anyone who doesn't like it, except for body builders and people who are dead inside. The last thing you should know i suppose, is that if you don't make room for the rice bowl, its going to make room for itself, so this better be your last stop on your errands if its a spur of the moment sort of thing. read more

This place is the shiz! I love it, I go there several times a week since I can't cook and it is very well priced. The service is good they don't look at my funny when I hand them a bunch of pennies. As others have commented there is a nice little Asian lady who works there who remembers me every time I'm there. The Magic Sauce is the best definitely get several tiny little containers of it to go. Sometimes they burn the chicken a little but just when there is a lot of people but thats pretty rare. (I heard a guy in front of me ask for a chicken bowl, and when he got his order he said he wanted chicken-n-veggie. She gave him a huge side of veggies right away.) I came here a day or two ago after seeing all the good yelp reviews. Went and got the rib plates + extra meat. Sad to say...it seems like they skimp on the meat. I couldn't really tell there was extra meat. I never leave here unsatisfied. I know there are a few Flame Broilers in the area but I have always felt this one is the best. Up until they raised their prices, I would go here at least three times a week. Now, I settle for maybe once. The owner is extremely friendly and she recognizes you if you come in enough. The food is great, simple, but great. It is filling and healthy at the same time. It never leaves me feeling gross like most greasy fast food joints or other 'beef bowl' places. I always get the chicken bowl with green onions and brown rice. I like to stock up on the jalapenos and carrots. I hold on extra magic sauce because I try to keep it as healthy as possible. Overall, this is one of my favorite places to eat if I am in a hurry or after a long workout. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking to keep it simple and tasty. read more
