Just me, ok. lol) Entering the buffet, you walk to the podium (not the elongated desk, it's for take out lol); then you're seated by the host. This location you also pay at the end (vs at the Roslindale location, you pay before being seated). This is another new location from their original location in Revere; the second location is in Roslindale, MA. If I overheard correctly, the staff said they just opened 2 weeks ago. If we're comparing food tastes to the other two locations, this comes 2nd place to the first location (Revere)! First time in Roslindale location, the food was so bland, I will not go back! The wait staff definitely had it together here, they're not running around like headless chickens. Speaking of chickens, their fried chicken is delicious minus the fact that there was some pink inside. The sushi was tasteful. The CRAWFISH was alright, there was definitely more flavor (than the Roslindale had) but it felt like you were still waiting for the rest of the flavor to develop. It was still tasteful enough to consume a plate full though, lol. PSA though that some food items are for 'dinner only.' We came during dinner time but for those that are there for lunch but close enough to dinner time hours, I would look out for signs posted above the food item that indicates it's only for dinner customers only (unless you want to pay the dinner price vs. lunch price, not sure the price difference though). I would definitely come back here again. It's very clean, the music is very upbeat, the staff are friendly and attentive! We had our own table, and not shared like the incident in Roslindale. I highly recommend this location and Revere, not so much the Roslindale. The reason I give it five stars is it's literally the best Chinese buffet in New England. When it comes to restaurant food, especially Chinese food, I'm pretty picky. They have to be not only authentic but better than I can make from home. Otherwise why would I pay them plus the tips? Speaking of the food here, they're not 100% Americanized, they have steamed sticky rice, dim sum, roast ducks and so on, which you can only see from some Chinese restaurants or markets where only Chinese go to. This place is packed over weekends, but they keep refilling the food trays to make sure customers can have what they want. Price wise, the kid under 3 is free. Since we have a 2 year old, it's a bonus.(most Chinese restaurants charge little ones as young as 2 or so). Wow! This place gave off a GREAT first impression. The food was hot anfresh, and the restaurant provided a large variety of different foods. There is something for everyone here, even very picky people like me. Most trays were always full and people were bringing fresh trays out, although some dishes were a little cold by the time they were actually eaten. Be aware that the desert selection is a little bit limited, but still satisfying enough. The atmosphere was nice and very clean and neat. A very chic atmosphere. And plenty of space. This place is HUGE! It definitely can fit large parties. However when I went in around lunch time on a Wednesday, it wasn't too crowded at all. My first visit to this Asian buffet was for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Two of us arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. The atmosphere was pleasant and unassuming and surprisingly quiet even with an almost full dining room. The restaurant includes a sushi bar as well as a grille section. The place was very clean and the staff pleasant and attentive. The buffet selection contained many fish/seafood selections as well as the usual various Asian choices. American staples were offered as well as a dessert section that offered a freezer full of individual frozen treats! Items were replenished frequently. Prices are reasonable. I've been to FG in different locations and I've never had any really negative experiences in any of them. This is by far the worst I've visited. The salad bar consisted of 2 trays of iceberg lettuce, some discolored, shriveled, green olives and some sliced can beets that were acidic (meaning gone bad) in flavor. That's it. There's definitely less of a selection in every section and the food just tasted old and reheated. To top things off, there was a nagging black fly that kept buzzing around our table throughout our meal. Bad sign. They also messed up our bill, which I'm glad I discovered. So that didn't help with taste. It's typical buffet food. Drinks seemed to be refilled while we were away as well. Had to ask 3 people for calamari because no one touched the calamari that was cold and stale. But none the less we got fresh calamari. Appearance- the place is new and clean and the staff is very efficient and quick to clear the plates. Hibachi guys were very friendly and did a good job. Sushi was not labeled so it was a bit of a mystery I just looked for shrimp (I don't do raw fish) Value- as far as buffets go this was a good value not as big of a selection as other locations but not bad either. $14 all you can eat what more can you ask for? You can't even get 1 seafood plate for $14 most places. Overall- I think my review is honest but a bit harsh because it was 8 o'clock and buffet closes at 10:30 so they didn't bring out fresh food as they normally would during peak/busy hours. Probably the best combination of value, quality and selection in the greater Boston area as far as Asian buffets go. In urban Texas or urban California this place would be mediocre at best, but in the ethnic food-desert that is New England, it's a standout. Quality is of course mediocre compared to a normal restaurant serving the same foods a la carte, but not bad at all considering how much you could snarf down here for a lousy $14 (dinner buffet; lunch is a bit cheaper but smaller selection). Definitely has the best selection of seafood I've ever seen in these parts for this type of restaurant: crab, shrimp, mussels, baby clams, two kinds of ocean fish, 3 types of shrimp, and shockingly light-battered fried calamari. Then there are surprising additions like on-bone pork ribs, sauteed duck, and (gasp!) fried plantains which are actually quite rare in these types of buffet places---though of course they have plenty of philistine-friendly junk foods like horrible pizza, fries, chicken nuggets, etc. too which makes perfect sense since no more than 10-20% of the clientele are of East Asian origin. This probably explains the relative blandness of the food as well, which at least is a plus in that it indicates that they aren't dousing the stuff in s*@#-tons of MSG unlike many low-end Chinese places. It goes without saying that you want to tread carefully in the alleged "sushi" section although their California rolls were surprisingly not bad. There is a "Hibachi grill" section as well where they'll "grill" meats and veggies to order, probably your best bet if you want the healthiest eats here. The desserts section was the other weak spot, of the 4 or 5 things we tried only the German chocolate cake was ok-ish, so I'd stick to the fresh fruits for dessert or better yet, get another helping of the fried plantains! Service is pretty good, we happily left a 20% tip. Kind of wish they served beer, but an alcohol license would probably drive the prices way up. One Asian buffet place that does have booze is Chang Sho in Cambridge, which easily beats this place in quality and ambience but their buffet is maybe 1/10th the size of this one and costs almost double on weekends. read more

This place is Horrible! We Used to come here all the time pre-Covid! Unfortunately This place went downhill recently! Nothing is good here anymore ! The Hibachi grill noodles smell as rotten dirty clothes, the raw chicken and meat section sets for hours now and the employees don't care ,they're always sitting and looking down on their phones all the time! Had to call the managers wife one time to smell the noodles and right away she had them change them..and chicken also had to be changed because it was warm and smelled weird and looks like it's been sitting for hours without ice! Then the whole situation got repeated multiple times and the last time we went there we felt very uncomfortable going in to this place again especially since the guy who seems to be the manager didn't even care and said :(no it's all good ) without even bothering to go check in on the food! We also noticed recently that waitresses here are being aggressive for the 15 percent tip and will take all the money and never ask if you need any change back! We actually witnessed a very rude waitress objecting about the amount of tip that the customers sitting next to us left her ! We were shocked ! She was showing them the receipt and demanded they leave a bigger tip! We always leave 15 percent anyway (although it's a buffet) but noticed that they do not offer us the change anymore! I thought it's because they got used to us and know us already but after witnessing what this waitress did to the people next to us, I think this is a new strategy they are following recently to make customers feel uncomfortable to ask for their change back! Do not expect any customer service whatsoever here because they act superior to their own customers and seem to lack any regards to what the customer says! I do not know how the health department doesn't get called about this place..my guess is that so many people will probably have issues and get sick afterwards and this place will get so many complaints! The go-to buffet. After one visit, that was our conclusion. We dine at restaurants that run the full spectrum. For a long stretch, we found most buffet style establishments to be lacking in every possible way. We decided to visit Flaming Grill in our old stomping grounds of Malden and we were pleasantly surprised! There was a substantial variety of dishes to choose from and they were ALL good! Rows and rows of choices with easy access. When you go to their website, be sure to scroll down to the gallery and you'll see. What sets this establishment apart is that the majority of the food is excellent quality. I especially enjoyed the pork ribs and the fried shrimp, but there are many other good selections too. Even the desserts were better than most buffets. We didn't have to wait for a table. The service was prompt. The point of eating at a buffet is to indulge and enjoy a variety. We achieved that and left happy. (My only complaint is the men's restroom, which, although is quite roomy and well appointed, was not very clean. It's as though it had been used by children and whomever else so frequently missed their marks that my shoes stuck to the floor as I walked from the urinal area to a sink to wash away my disgust.) I won't take away a star because I throw my support behind Flaming Grill & Buffet. They are a far cry better in quality than what you find in most buffets today. I wish them the best. I went here the first week they opened. I knew what to expect as far as the food goes since I have been to the one in Revere several times. Since it was a Friday night, I expected a wait; it actually was not as long as I figured it would be, which is a great thing. While the place had tons of people in it, the staff was efficient and the number me and my friend received was called pretty quickly. One thing that I did not like was the fact that there are small booths here that only seat two people. While others may not have a problem with that, it gets pretty crowded when you finish one plate and get another before the first is taken away by one of the waitstaff. It was a minor annoyance, but I figured I would mention it. The food on the buffet was really good. There was nothing that appeared old or like it had been sitting around for too long. There were some items, like whole stone crabs, that I had never seen at the other location. Other items, like the hibachi chicken, tasted far better here than they did when I had it in Revere. The waitress we had was sort of MIA after the first 10-15 minutes, but there was another one who helped us when we needed. She removed our plates each time without any issues. It was a bit sad since our waitress was helping others not that far from us, but never came to check on us after asking how everything was in the beginning. Since this location is within walking distance of my house, I would probably go here instead of heading to Revere to get my Chinese buffet fix. They make sure that there is something for everyone which makes for a good dinner out for large groups. The items that I had were not overly spiced & tasted fresh. The staff are friendly & always attentive to clear any dirty plates or bring any items that customers may request. There is definitely value built into the affordable price & allows customers like me enjoy a wide variety of foods in one sitting. Place was packed at 6pm on a Saturday night for dinner. Our party of 7 waited around 40 min for a table and ended up having to split up and sit at two separate but nearby tables. Price is cheap ($13.99 per person) but food is mediocre and oftentimes bland. I didn't have the clams but others who I went with said they were sandy. This is my favorite flaming grill out of the 3 in MA. The food selection is less then the 1 in revere but the food is better. The people who work here is more friendly then the other 2 place. The food is good and I'm never disappointed when I dine here. When they see your drink low they come and ask if you want refill while the other 2 place they just ignore you unless you are white or if you look like you tip good. I dine in revere once and my server walk pass me many time and ignore me but when she see a white person drink half way she ask to refill. That's bad service and I still tip her 15% and she demand 20% so I gave 10% and left. The server here are nice and friendly, I never leave less then 20% most of the time I leave them 30%. read more

If you are looking to feed an army of starving kids quickly and inexpensively, this is a great option! Conveniently located behind Malden Catholic School and in the same plaza as the Super 99, this buffet is large and in charge! They have basic sushi - but it is made fresh behind the counter and constantly being replenished. They have hibachi - you pick your own ingredients and they cook it in front of you. They have your typical Americanized Chinese food - cream cheese wontons, chicken wings, dumplings, fried rice, black bean baby clams, steamed mussels and shrimp, soups, etc, but then they sprinkle in whole fish, prawns, duck, crab, steamed buns and other dim sum type items. Every time we have come, it has been busy - which is always a great sign - it also means the food is fresh since it is constantly being replenished. They have vegetarian options too and a pretty extensive dessert bar. The staff is very efficient and very friendly. It isn't the healthiest meal I have had, but it is not greasy or as deep fried as other buffets I have been to. Even my very picky son enjoyed sampling lots of everything - he now knows he likes crab legs and crawfish! They even have a to go option.
