Flapjacks' rendition -- served in a skillet -- was one of the best I've had. The chicken was crispy but just greasy enough to remind me of what I was chowing down on. The waffle was a bit soggy due to the chicken, but I think that made it even better. The entire production was sprinkled with powdered sugar to add just a touch of sweetness. Didn't have the best experience at this location in pigeon forge. Not sure if it was because I arrived right before closing time or what. Ordered chocolate chip pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs. Was supposed to receive 3 pancakes with chocolate chips, whip cream, and chocolate sauces, however I just received 2 pancakes with chocolate chips. The waiter put it in as eggs and cakes. I should've really just went for that since I wasn't that hungry but it wasn't what I ordered. I told the waiter and he brought out another pancake and a small bowl of whip cream. We were looking for a quick place to grab breakfast before we headed back home from a weekend trip in the mountains. We called at 9am and they said they had no wait, but by the time we arrived about 9:30 there was a 30 minute wait and people stuffed in the lobby and outside. We found a coupon for a free order of fritters. They were amazing, but the fried food definitely didn't sit well after a night of moonshine tastings. Always wanted to come here since coming to the mountains for the past 14 years. Finally stopped in for brunch. Conveniently located with a little shop inside for those who wait or when you check out and lots of options for all of us. My son is a huge fan if chicken and waffles. This dish fed him for 2 days. The chicken was delicious! Waffles he said were excellent too. I'm not a waffle fan so I can only go based on his option for that. I ordered corned beef breakfast with eggs and potatoes. The corned beef I like well done and the eggs over easy. But it was very tasty! They substituted for us without any difficulty. We had vegan family members and some of us dont eat pork. Very disappointed after giving this business such praise because we used to go every Christmas for 10 years and both my kids loved their flap jacks pancakes. I divorced my son at 7 years old the mother did not give him his bear. The bear we bought here at this store he named him "Blackie". Upon arrival to California we noticed his bear was missing...he cried and cried himself to sleep. Next day, my sister picked up a bear at built-a-bear. Sadly there was none that resembled Blackie. She picked up one beige. Now, after this many years I want my son to have a replica of Blackie. I called spoke to woman forgot her name. I offered to buy one pay for it including shipping and handling. I never heard back from her...i went into website left a message and never heard a reply from either. Well, back to my original story. The next day I sat my son down explained to him that bears hibernate during winter that's why Blackie was missing he has returned but he shed his coat into a new one...the great thing now he can rename it. So the first thing was we should have never stayed bcuz in 20 mins they were closing and if you ever been to a place almost closing they don't give you fresh food. The biscuits tasted as if they were made several days ago and then microwaved on the plate as they were super dry and stale, but the bottom was soggy and wrinkly. The Pigeon Forge Flapjack's located on the Parkway in the heart of the tourist strip, was pretty busy around 8:10AM with a short line to get in at the front door. The atmosphere here is that of a camp lodge. Most of staff here were wearing beige colored camp ranger uniforms. Our hostess reminded us of a slightly younger looking Miley Cyrus, who promptly seated us and gave us the name our server. My friend really digs "The Climb" and I chant, "Party in the USA!!". Heck we could hardly wait to enjoy a filling breakfast before our big "9 to 5" day at Dollywood. Our server was an older woman who seemed like a seasoned pro at waiting on many tables efficiently. She offered us coffee ($1.99) in a self serve carafe as we looked over the breakfast menu, which is slightly pricier than a typical Denny's, but we did have that coupon to offset the price. My friend ordered the Elkmont Breakfast Platter #3 ($6.89), 2 egg whites, 2 thick sausage links, and 3 buttermilk pancakes & sugar free syrup by request. The sausages were firm and juicy, not piping hot though. I had the Spanish Skillet ($7.89) which had 2 eggs (I had scrambled), sausage, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, cheese, salsa, and sour cream and served over shredded hash browns and served with 2 buttermilk pancakes on the side The skillet was very filling to eat and not greasy. The pancakes were thick and soft and a dry texture. Overall, breakfast was very filling, but the food was just okay. The service was good and we received our food in 10 minutes after ordering. Our server did check up on us as she walked by and dropped off the check. We finished off the coffee from the carafe and cashed out at the register, exit only through the side door. Had a long weekend in the area and we were looking for a place for a great breakfast. I will say, there is NO shortage of places to visit for breakfast in this area. However, this place was just decent. We were able to get right in on a Friday morning (around 8:30am), and the hostess was was very friendly. The server was not the best but did his job. He just wasn't very friendly or engaged. Perhaps he wasn't a morning person! :-) The food arrived about 20 minutes after we ordered. We had the ham (substituted sausage) and cheese skillet (with pancakes) and the French Toast breakfast. The food was good. But it was not very hot. Barely warm. But good nonetheless.
