If you don't try anything else you have to go get that Iced Peanut Butter Mocha Espresso it's a100/10 !!! The customer service here is unmatched. Perfect for a brunch date and it is close to the beach so you might as well make a day out of it. They are doing it right !

First time there and was pleasantly surprised at all the menu choices! I ordered a hamburger with a fried egg, and it was delicious; the bun was slightly sweet, fresh, and soft. The fries were terrific! I was a little disappointed with the size of the burger, since the server told me it was BIG compared to the "smash burger," but it really wasn't. That said, the service was very friendly, but don't come here in a rush because it takes a while. Also, they have a nice patio in the rear, which I was unaware of until coming inside. We will definitely come back.

Flapjax? More like slap-jax, because this food absolutely slaps! It's hands-down my new favorite brunch place in town and will be my top recommendation to anyone visiting from out of town. The menu has about 100 options to choose from (pancakes, waffles, crepes, mimosas, eggs and potatoes, you name it), which is a little overwhelming, but it seems like you can't go wrong. My wife and I split the strawberry shortcake waffle and the cinnamon bun pancakes and savored every single bite. The table next to us got a breakfast burrito that also looked heavenly. Even though the restaurant was full of patrons, our server was prompt and welcoming. Flapjax is one of the few places I would bestow a bonus 6th Yelp star if I could. I will 100% be back for brunch again soon!

Overall: very spacious, and yummy food, decent patio Food: 4/5 Flapjax Plate: +eggs were tender and moist -potatoes were a little overdone Banana pancake: +Crème brûlée was a nice touch +peanut butter cuts through some of the sugar +banana chunks were in the pancakes and were super soft Service: 4/5 Food came quickly and they checked on us a few times. I had to wait a bit for my ketchup though. Ambiance: 5/5 Nice patio seating. Not super crowded and claustrophobic like many brunch places.

Quick update on my review since Bru's Wiffle has moved in and merged with Flapjax. We were a little nervous of how it would all end up, but we love this setup! Everything is on one menu now. Since my daughter's favorite menu item was from Flapjax (the chicken crepe) and mine was from Bru's (The Salad), now everyone can be happy! I was also nervous that the quality of the salad might suffer since the side salads at Flapjax weren't always the best (sometimes a little wilty with some of the leaves tending toward slime), but I'm happy to report that The Salad is as delightful as ever and the quality of the greens is still outstanding. Hope they stay in business - such a great place with very friendly service. Love their outdoor seating area.

This food spot is approximately two years old! They have a great mixture of savory breakfast & sweet breakfast. The service was fast & attentive. The ambiance was quiet & not crowded. We came on a Sunday morning around 11am. We were sat down quickly with no reservations Now for the food: Breakfast Burrito 10/10: enjoyed the cheese/ egg wrap instead of a bunch of tortilla! The chorizo was amazing! Chicken Karaage 10/10: absolutely love how they breaded the chicken! It's light & not as thick. Loved the sauces too! The spicy syrup mixed with the spicy ranch was sooo good! Banana Pancakes 10/10: so good! Loved the peanut butter & banana. The smoked sugar on top was amazing Lychee & Coffee drinks: the lychee was a bit too sweet for me but the boba was good! The coffee was not too strong & a bit milky! Great flavor Overall this restaurant was great for breakfast! They also have lunch items too which is great for a nice brunch/lunch type of vibe

This diner is DIVINE!!!!! I absolutely fell in love with the chicken crepe. Such a savory breakfast/brunch dish. As were all the dishes we ordered. I really loved how the cinnamon bun pancakes came pre cut, it made it really convenient to eat!! The serves and hostess were amazing. They were very attentive and I made sure they knew we thought they did a great job. It's a cozy place with the cutest decor. We will most definitely because regulars and look forward to trying many more dishes!!

first off the service was 10/10! was greeted and seated right away and once our order was taken, the food came out so quickly. as someone who is gluten free but is always on the hunt for gluten free that doesn't taste like cardboard or crumbly, please come try the pancakes! ignore the melted chocolate chips on the plate LOL. but they were so soft and fluffy and like an authentic pancake house. Even though I live close by, I somehow missed this Santa Monica diner, and I'm so happy I tried it for my first time this past weekend. It's not the traditional retro diner, think more so a breakfast restaurant with a huge menu filled with all sorts of classic and new dishes. I find the most diners focus on just classic dishes so this is a bit of a hybrid. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor seating is in front and a covered patio out back. They don't have a dedicated parking lot, but parking is really easy to find in this part of town. We were able to be seated right when we arrived for a 10:30 AM Sunday brunch and our server was extremely polite. As mentioned, they have a huge menu that is filled with all sorts of options so it took all of us quite some time to decide what to get. For my first time I started off with a Cinnamon Roll and thought it was absolutely fantastic. It's large and fluffy and really hit the spot for a great starter. For my entrée, I chose the Flapjax Breakfast Plate and upgraded my pancake to the Maple Glaze. That pancake was extremely delicious with caramelized banana, maple, and bacon on top. It was truly delicious and a great treat. Overall, a fantastic breakfast place that I will certainly be back to soon. They truly have a ton of options so it's a sort of place you could go to frequently and get something new every time.

Wow, I was waiting for my husband's surgery to end. I started walking and found Flapjax. All I can say is this restaurant is the best. The atmosphere, staff and food were awesome. If your tummy is hungry this is the place to go.

Wow! We have lived down the street for 2 year and have never been in here. We have so many favorites, it's hard to try somewhere new. I am so glad we came. The food was fantastic. I am going to go out on a limb and say this was the best avocado toast I have ever had. Ever! The bread was rustic and fresh. There was a tang from the sauce they put on top (which I believe had jalapeños in it) and the cilantro micro greens were perfect. My only complaint- they need to give you a steak knife. That bread is so full of goodness, a butter knife just won't do. My hubby got the overnight oats and loved them. They have a lot going on in those oats. Full of good texture. The coffee is strong. The servers are all lovely. It's nice and serene inside. Perfect for a cloudy Saturday morning. This place should have a constant line out the door. One can only imagine that the reason they don't is there any few places to park.

Great service off the bat! Attentive and friendly. There's outdoor seating behind the restaurant which looked welcoming but we ate inside. Restroom was spacious and clean. But the food...I had a pretty cappuccino, and we ate the breakfast burrito and French toast. So delish! We couldn't finish the breakfast burrito, it's huge. My hubby came to flapjacks weeks earlier for the first time and had the breakfast Chilaquiles that he said was great. read more

We're in town for LA Tech Week, and Flapjax has set the bar sky-high! This is hands down the best breakfast we've ever had. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon crispy, the potatoes golden and seasoned to perfection, and the pancakes--wow--fluffy clouds of joy! But the real star? The burritos. Absolutely a 10/10, packed with flavor and just the right kick. The portions were generous, the service friendly, and the whole experience unforgettable. Boy, am I glad I finally got here ... it's been on my list for quite a while. Arrived on a sunny Sunday morning around 10:15am and was pleased that there was no line and there were plenty of seating options. We chose to sit inside, but there is a lovely patio in the back, as well (maybe next time?). Among the 3 of us, we ordered a good variety: the frittata (for me), the cinnamon bun pancakes (for one friend), the portobello basil pesto eggs benedict (for another friend), and the strawberry coffee cake for the table to share. Everything was excellent! Service was attentive and friendly. I will be back, for sure! read more

AMAZING! The food was sooo good. They have indoor and outdoor seating and we sat outside on a beautiful weekend. It was my daughter's birthday and the staff made her feel welcome and special. (She said this is her favorite place from now on). And to top it off, the owner came out and greeted us. The spice can get high if you want so if you're into a little heat in your food, this is a good place to try. But the pancakes are delicious and beautiful. Coming back for sure. read more

Great place for a special breakfast or brunch. Interesting and delicious food. I had the cinnamon bun pancakes which were great and enough to share with others. My husband had the shitake mushroom omelet with the most interesting and delicious potatoes. He also had a peanut butter iced coffee. Not my style, but he loved it. First time at this lovely diner. For starters the employees are all so friendly and welcoming. Shout out to Maggie for being the most friendly and helpful server! The potatoes were seasoned to perfection! I asked for eggs over medium. And that's just what I got! No extra salt or salsa/ketchup was needed for my plate. PERFECT as is! Went for brunch today, three of us. Seated right way. It took about 5 minutes before a server came to the table to take drink orders. Asked for waters and again another 5 minutes before she returned. Placed food order at this time and it was 35 minutes before our food arrived. Spinach and feta frittata was generous in portion but mediocre in taste. Breakfast burrito was also generous in size but not good, very dry and the "melted"cheese was solidified on top. The maple, banana pancakes were huge but not enough maple syrup and none was served along with them. Very disappointing brunch. Lots of empty tables both inside and on the patio. Now I know why! Staff was friendly but need to move things at a faster pace!! Will not be back. read more

This place is slipping fast. Used to be great, but the service and food has deteriorated. Ordered Salmon Benedict. The eggs were poached hard and the pancake was overcooked and the food was cold overall. I ordered the potatoes on the side and they were undercooked. Overcooked eggs and undercooked potatoes. Also took them 30 minutes to serve the food! Ordered tea to start and they forgot to serve that. Maybe they were having a bad day, but with a check of $60 for two people, they need to do better. I will not return. read more

Oh my did I have a great time at Flapjax. Was looking for a great breakfast spot in Santa Monica and boy did I find it! Visited on a busy Saturday morning and was seated quickly. I got the Patatas Bravas and shared the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes with my friends. We just loved every bite! The staff here is incredible. We were drooling over the cakes and baked goods, and a really sweet waitress asked if we'd like to try a piece. She brought over a sample of the strawberry loaf and it was SO GOOD!! Really enjoyed my visit here and I cannot wait to get back! read more

I consider myself a pancake aficionado. In my opinion.....Du Pars is No.1.... John O' Groats is No.2. This place is nothing out of the ordinary and very expensive. The big deal is that the 2 pancakes are the size of the plate. Tip: if you can agree on flavor; split an order. That might make your bill more reasonable. It cost me $80 for two. REALLY?! Had 2 sides. Potato pancakes & scrambled eggs. Oh yah......super nice staff but not too sharp. Who serves 2 orders of pancakes and forgets syrup? Had to flag down a server 5 mins after receiving our order and ask for syrup. By then, pancakes were cold read more

Food is good but their service could be better. As we were leaving we wanted to come through the back exit to get to our car easier and quicker. The waitress stopped us and said it wasn't an exit and that the exit was in the front. I'm pretty sure had we asked why we can't exit through the back she would've switched her response and told us we could. The stairs for the back exit are not blocked off by anything, so why is it there if it's not an exit? The back exit isn't even handicap friendly as it is stairs and not an actual ramp for wheelchairs/ elderly people. Don't know if we'll be coming back now. read more

Sadly, they didn't offer the little sauce they typically serve this burrito with. Unfortunately, the food was so underwhelming and a downgrade from when I last went that it is now joining my graveyard of spots in LA that simply aren't worth a repeat visit anymore. He was friendly, attentive, and had the kind of personality that instantly makes you feel like a regular. When we mentioned that we were locals on our first visit, he made a point of telling us about the happy hour and gave us some great recommendations for next time. Great restaurants are everywhere, but great hospitality is harder to find. Andrew delivered both. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Flapjacx/Brus Wiffle is an absolutely beautiful restaurant. The design, atmosphere, and overall aesthetic are outstanding. It's the kind of place that immediately makes you think you're in for a great meal. I stopped in while visiting my wife during her lunch break at the hospital. I originally planned to bring her food, so I happened to have a Kool-Aid cup in my hand when I walked in. After I'd already placed my order, I was told they don't allow outside food or drinks. I understand restaurants have policies, but this felt like one of those moments where a little common sense and hospitality would have gone a long way. I wasn't bringing in another restaurant's meal--I was already buying food from you. As for the food itself, we ordered the $10 double smash burger. It was fine, but it was tiny and ultimately forgettable. There wasn't anything wrong with it, but there also wasn't anything that made it stand out. The biggest disappointment was the $7 "truffle fries." After the first bite, I looked at my wife and said, "Whatever you're thinking, I just had the exact same thought." They simply weren't good. For $7, I expected something memorable, but honestly, McDonald's fries are more enjoyable for less than half the price. I genuinely want this place to succeed because the location and atmosphere are fantastic. Right now, though, it feels like the aesthetics are carrying the experience. Improve the fries, make the burger feel like a better value, and be a little more flexible with customer interactions. The food and the service was amazing. The pancakes were probably the best pancakes I've ever had in my life. I'm not kidding. I came here with my father and my birthday and the music was so beautiful and lively and the decor is so cute and Homie. My only suggestion would to be for them to turn the heater on in the morning because it was very very cold in there. Thank you guys for a beautiful birthday breakfast. I just tried a burger with curry and crispy onions, and it was fantastic. I have my favorites, so it's hard to deviate from chocolate chip pancakes and kielbasa sandwiches, but I'm glad I did.
