The variety and quality of food pleasantly surprised my family. There were so many things we wanted to try. I will recommend the breakfast items. We did order a smash burger with sauce on the side and the seasoning doesn't taste right when no sauce on the burger. Drinks are creative but don't remember anything particularly special or stand out. Got here on a weekend after 1:30pm and the inside is cute and not chaotic. The wait is short at the time. I really wanted to like this place, especially with the location being right in the heart of Melrose and all the hype around LA food spots, but unfortunately our experience was pretty underwhelming overall. I ordered the F Burger, and while it looked promising, it lacked the savory flavor and seasoning I was expecting. It honestly tasted like a very basic burger with little personality. The patty had juices, but not that rich, flavorful, satisfying beefiness you expect from a good burger. It also wasn't very juicy or memorable. It's smashed and it's probably why. My wife ordered the avocado chicken sandwich, and sadly the chicken was extremely dry. It just wasn't enjoyable to eat. The fries that came with our meals were lukewarm by the time they reached the table, which added to the disappointment. Service-wise, the food also took longer than expected considering how simple the order was. Maybe they want all our order to come out at the same time? I don't know. The Smoothie "Rooty Tooty" wasn't even refreshingly cold. We actually had to order some ice. We visited on Mother's Day, so I understand places can get busy, and parking on Melrose is always hit or miss, but we still left feeling pretty disappointed with the overall experience. I'm giving 3 stars because the place itself has potential and the staff was fine, but the food quality just didn't match the expectations or pricing. Hopefully management takes feedback seriously because with some improvements in flavor, consistency, and food temperature, this place could be much better. Enjoyed a delicious brunch here with my husband, who showed me this place. I like the casual atmosphere and cozy interior. Although we sat indoors, I noticed that there was a ton of outdoor seating available. Apparently this restaurant is super popular on weekends, so we were able to avoid any waiting by visiting on a weekday. There are very many beverage and food options on the menu, including all-day breakfast and lunch. This restaurant even offers full vegan and vegetarian substitutions as well as dairy-free and gluten-free options. Everything sounded delicious, but we ultimately ordered these 3 dishes: Crunchy Croissant French Toast: Very delicious and indulgent. A buttery croissant is used instead of a typical slice of bread, making the dish extra rich to eat. The bananas, strawberries, granola, powdered sugar, and white chocolate drizzle brought the entire thing together. I really liked the crispy outer layer and soft interior. Green Eggs & Ben: Served with a side of potatoes, this is a twist on the classic eggs benedict. The 2 soft-poached eggs were covered in a creamy hollandaise sauce. The runny egg yolks mixed very nicely with the english muffins, applewood-smoked bacon, and sautéed spinach. Crispy Fried Shrimp Tacos: My least favorite of our 3 dishes, but still tasty. Arrived on a Saturday at around 11 am. There was no wait and there was plenty of seating. We ordered the huevos rancheros, signature croissant French toast and the bacon hash. The huevos rancheros were pretty good! It didn't taste too greasy/heavy and had a nice balance of flavors. The bacon hash was mediocre. I wasn't sure what I was expecting but it just tasted like bacon, eggs and veggies mixed together. There wasn't anything that stood out about that dish. Lastly, the signature croissant French toast was delightful! I thought it was an interesting concept and it tasted yummy! Kind of reminded me of pancakes. Would recommend ordering that if you have a sweeter palette. Service was excellent! You order with the cashier first and then they bring your food over to you. We received our food pretty quickly and the workers there were kind. Parking might be a bit difficult since it's on a busy street but we were able to find parking right next to the cafe. Came here on a Saturday for brunch and it was very lively and packed here. It's located right on Melrose Avenue, meaning parking can be difficult. Love that this place is dog friendly and has patio seating. I got the Lobos BC smoothie and the taste was delicious, but it was not blended enough. There was too many thick pieces of ice and peanuts, and it made it too hard to drink through a straw. Honestly kind of upsetting because it's not too hard to make sure a smoothie is fully blended. My friend got a chicken sandwich and it was just okay. Nothing special, and the fries were pretty basic as well. The staff were all super friendly though. Of all the brunch style restaurants around LA, Fratelli is one of my go to spots. From their menu range to the high quality food, I was able to show my wife this amazing brunch spot. This spot is a "order then get seated type spot." Before arriving, I suggest getting on the Yelp waitlist if the restaurant is busy. Highly recommend this to avoid long wait times. Parking here is street parking only as they don't have a dedicated lot. There's plenty of street parking around but watch out for some metered parking. There's plenty of indoor seating but it's a bit cramped I'd say indoors, many prefer to sit outdoors as they have more outdoor seating than indoors. It's shaded which is nice to avoid the heat. Restaurant is pretty clean overall. However, there's only one restroom and it's pretty dirty in there, manageable but look out for that. As stated before, it's a order then get seated type restaurant. Water cups can be filled on the left indoors by yourself, so service aside from ordering is kind of nonexistent. Staff would still check up on you but they mostly are just doing work and wouldn't bother you and your food. Their menu is quite extensive but my wife and I ordered the Green Eggs & Ben, Crunchy Croissant French Toast, and the Crispy Fried Shrimp Tacos. All 1-2 serving type dishes but we mostly enjoyed the dishes together. -- Green Eggs & Ben -- Pretty standard to your usual benedicts at any brunch spots. Not too salty and it was perfect to share. The eggs were cooked perfectly, poached and very soft. Highly recommend -- Crunchy Croissant French Toast -- Filled with bananas, strawberries, granola, and served with white chocolate drizzle, it was the perfect dish to conclude the meal. Surprisingly, it wasn't super sweet which was a good change. Portions are huge so this is a great dish to share. The various fruits is a nice touch to the French toast and certainly adds tons of flavor, love it as a whole. -- Crispy Fried Shrimp Tacos -- Came with 3 tacos and a side of fries. The waffle is a thick Belgian waffle with 2-3 pieces of white meat chicken depending on the cuts. Chicken pieces were thinner than expected. The steak omelette comes with square potatoes and 2 pieces of wheat bread. Everything was cool, she just expected more seasoning from the steak omelette that's all. And the OJ was really good. Tastes like fresh squeezed orange juice. We can see ourselves returning in the future. I did say I would come back one early morning for some coffee. I've been here before and it's been good, though today it felt like all of our food was a little undersalted/seasoned. I was craving their fried chicken benny (which is usually decadent but delicious) but decided to branch out with shrimp tacos and they were decent but nothing spectacular. Regretted my choice a bit. My bestie got a build-your-own omelette that was definitely missing salt. Everything was cooked pretty well, but definitely missing that oomph. Stopped by late Sunday morning and there wasn't much of a wait. As we were leaving closer to noon, there were people waiting to be seated so seems like it does fill up a bit. We ordered an green egg & Ben eggs Benedict, Cruzilito, and Signature Croissant French Toast. The eggs Benedict and croissant French toast were nothing special. The potatoes served on the side were perfectly crispy and the French toast came with a lot of berries, but otherwise, didn't feel like either were worth it. My friend had the tacos and she enjoyed them a lot. I didn't have a bite, but I regret not trying it because they did look like they'd be more interesting. Surprised by the high reviews; maybe I just didn't know what to order? The menu is pretty big and there's a lot of options for everyone (unless you dislike eggs or are vegan because then it's really limited for you lol). I ordered the breakfast burrito (of course ), plus a Bloody Mary, and I'll admit it felt a little like cheating to enjoy both *without* having run 10+ miles beforehand for marathon training. Worth it though. While I *did* have to pay extra to add avocado (boo), the burrito was delicious. My friends ordered the Nutella strawberry crêpe, the eggs Benedict, and the croissant breakfast sandwich, and everything at the table was really tasty--no misses! The Bloody Mary was just okay though--not bad, but not the standout. Huge shoutout to the staff: they were incredibly attentive and kind. We had noisy kids with us and asked to be seated a bit out of the way on the patio, which they happily accommodated. When the sun shifted and we realized our section didn't have an awning, they even lugged over a big umbrella for us without us even having to ask. That kind of thoughtfulness really stood out. I actually like this form of service so we were happy with the set up. My husband got the breakfast burrito and I got the shakshuka with a side of sweet potato fries. Came here for a Saturday brunch and honestly, this was the most easiest and one of the tastier brunches in LA! Parking was also not as a bad even though it was street parking. We decided to sit at their patio since it was a pretty nice day. Dog friendly as well. It's nice that you can get seated first, and then just order at the cashier. Also, service was pretty quick. We got our utensils, water, and food in all a timely manner. Which honestly I think it's pretty rare for LA brunch spots bc of how busy it is. I got the "The New" Breakfast Burrito and my bf got an omelette. I did like how the burrito wasn't insanely large or insanely oily, which was honestly the perfect size for me. The Chorizo in it was very flavorful and really good, also the cheese in this was really nice! The breakfast potatoes could be a bit more crispy, it's more on the undercooked side so it's kind of soft, but it was still pretty good. My bf also enjoyed his omelette, which had chicken in it. For the service, price, and LA vibes, it's definitely somewhere I would visit again. I know most brunch places in LA really focus on being instagrammable, but this one is pretty solid. Every weekend, I've been trying various brunch places in/around LA, and this has been the best in a while. The food both looks and tastes delicious, and is fairly priced. It's a large brunch menu, as you can see, I got a smoothie, iced coffee, sweet plates, and a savory plate. There is a lot of seating to choose from both indoor and outdoor, and the service is both quick and friendly. I came on a Sunday at noon, and was able to right away be sat, have my order taken, and receive the meal promptly. I was able to find parking in the neighborhood across the street, not too far of a walk or too hard to find it. I'm definitely coming back to try more dishes. read more

We to Fratelli Café for brunch this weekend. After the breakfast crowd, before the lunch crowd. We were able to find parking across the street easily, but it could be difficult at busier times. There was no line and we were seated immediately. The host(?) explained how to order and where we would need to place the order. Basically, you get a menu and stand in a line to place the order when you are ready. The staff is very friendly and outgoing. As well as knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is varied from sweets to savory dishes. Waffles, French toast, etc to wagyu burgers and sandwiches.   We ended up with a California omelet and the Huevos Rancheros. The omelet was what you would expect. Lots of fillings, not over cooked, and plenty of tasty potatoes. The Huevos Rancheros was served on a fried tortilla, not hot, soft tortillas. Not the first time I have had it like this, but it was a bit of surprise. Nothing was hot, but everything was warm. It was getting really busy, I am not sure if our food sat for a bit, it was not like it was under a heat lamp. But it was still good. It was a good amount of food. We got an oatmeal/chocolate chip cookie for dessert. It was maybe the best part. Soft and gooey, not crisp and dry. I would definitely like to try some of the other baked goods.   The place is cute with old biking photos as well as bikes hanging on the walls and from the ceiling. The place gets packed. When we left, the line to order was maybe 10 people deep and there was a line forming outside. It seems very efficient. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves here. They whipped out the drinks and the food FAST. It was impressive. The food was just as impressive. I mean it when I say most places mess up potatoes but this place has it to a SCIENCE. I loved this place I came out visiting from Vegas. Staff was super nice, I wish I could remember the name of our waiter. But, he was great made us laugh and was extremely helpful. The food was delicious, potatoes were one of my favorites. We did have a bit of problems with our food, but who helped us was helpful and got us everything fresh and new as well as a free little goodie. The food was good. I ordered a breakfast burrito with a side of biscuits and gravy with a honey latte. The service was good. A little expensive for some items on the menu. I may give this spot another try and follow up with another review in hope to feel that 5 star experience. read more

I was excited to try out Fratelli Cafe after rave reviews. They have the option to join the waitlist before you arrive so that's what I did. After finding parking, our table for 2 was ready! The host Lorn was so nice and sat us immediately, we had the choice of sitting inside or outside and we chose outside. You're not directly outside, there's an awning that covers the outdoor patio area which was nice. The food came out fairly quick. Everything was delicious! I ordered something savory and something sweet to satisfy my sweet tooth craving. The French toast brioche with bananas was nice and fluffy, not too sweet yet perfect! Only thing I wish I had asked for more syrup lol! I also ordered the chilaquiles upon the recommendation of the host and I'm so glad I ordered it! I cleared my plate! Overall I would highly recommend Fratelli if you're looking for a good brunch spot. read more
