The Steak was cooked very well, with little fat and worked very well with the Potatoes and Brussels! Dislikes: Extra Horseradish Yogurt Sauce on the Rebel Wrap would've been great. The Brussels needed more seasoning, and we did order mashed potatoes but were given sweet potatoes. It is a more expensive place to eat, but that's expected given the location and caliber of food! Great heathy option that still tastes good! We started with the avocado hummus with pita and raw veggies that was delicious. One of the best hummus' in my opinion! I had the Flying Avocado Wrap for dinner. It came with a side of romaine and the portion size was large. The wrap was in pita and I was only able to eat half of it. The prices are very reasonable and they have a large seating area inside and a patio outside. There's not a lot of parking options nearby but it is in the middle of southend so easy to walk to. We stopped in for dinner before going out on a Saturday and didn't have any issues finding a table. I will say we were planning on having a beer with dinner and they were out. Which wasn't a huge deal but the option would have been nice. read more

Smells soooooo good when you get to the door. The aroma just hits you right in the nostrils. I'm intrigued. Wasn't really interested in getting anything after indulging in Jenis right down the street (Which by the way, doesn't have my beloved goat cheese and cherries)... I digress... It's very top chefish (or insert other Food Network show) In the back. I hear "Yes, chef" and "hey guys, I need.... right now"... "Yes, chef!" While waiting for my order, a couple ladies at the register comment that today is their 3rd day coming for food. "It's so goood" one lady says. I'm standing here contemplating if I should get something for myself. The comments, the aroma.... The only thing I would suggest is maybe have 2 people help with packing to go orders. I saw 20 or more bowls piling up and one lady is packing bags and ticking something off. Also, would be nice if she could call out the orders when putting them on the shelf. Otherwise every single time a bag is placed on the shelf, I'm ducking my head around the corner to see if it's mine. One person comes up to see if their order is ready and she says "it's probably here in this area". Fortunately, another lady came into the area and asked me my name and started packing my order immediately. I got my order to go. Just grilled chicken, broccoli w/ Parmesan and organic apple and clementine. Got home and the girls loved it! It was a delicious, fresh meal. However, I tried everything and there was no Parmesan on the broccoli. It was just steamed. It was obvious there was no cheese as I didn't see any flakes or crumbs as a sign that cheese was added. Bummer. The chicken was flavorful and I could taste the lemon they added to the fruit to preserve it. All in all, I'd go back. I'll just make sure to check my dishes if I get It to go, to make sure everything is just right. read more

Awwww man! First off, I would always see this restaurant when I would be walking on light rail and would think to myself "great, another healthy spot" blech . Decided one day to go try bc we were super hungry and wanted something new. They have a beautiful patio that allows our furry little friends. Socially distanced tables are set to ensure safety. On the inside, the vibe was very simple, sunshine, self preservation type feel. It was a healthy light feel of the atmosphere for me. The workers were casually dressed and super friendly. We got the Mother Earth bowl and the Chicken entree with red Chile glazed sweet potatoes and the GF Mac and cheese. Omg it was really good!!! You know how sometimes chicken breast is tough and dry? Nah uh. Not here. The chicken breast was super tender and very well cooked! The glazed sweet potatoes were awesome. The char on it added a much needed burnt taste to level out the sweetness! 10/10. The GF Mac n cheese was also very pleasant! Super light and tasty. Not creamy at all. I would probably say I prefer this mac n cheese over Leroy and Fox and the eagle. Not saying theyre bad but just a personal preference. The Mother Earth! If you're looking for a healthy tasty and fulfilling meal I would say this is it. It's a slight salad! Quinoa, chopped cucumbers, sweet potato and a green sauce! The cucumbers were super fresh with a light sesame? vinaigrette. It paired well with the quinoa which gave it a more whole grain earth taste! The chicken Again was cooked to perfection and the sweet potato gave the bowl a slight sweetener which leveled out the bowl. There was another side I had gotten at another time. I am unsure what it was called but it was realllyyyyyy good! It didn't look appetizing but it was full of flavor! At first glance it was a no for me. But once you take a bite out of it, it def turned me around for more! I believe it was like a supergreens... something. Nonetheless it was great! It was a seasonal side. They substituted this one for a cauliflower and asparagus side. Everything was absolutely amazing! A very light and healthy meal that still leaves you fulfilled. Flower child is a great place to get a fairly quickly healthy meal. They give generous portions too. The steak was cooked to perfection. It was melt in your mouth good. The Mac and cheese was also amazing. The Brussels were very good as well but the sauce became a little overwhelming near the end. The food is outstanding, and this is a great place if you live/work in walking distance. But takeout orders can be a challenge. Parking is very limited, and, although they gave a few spaces reserved for curbside and takeout, they don't do a great job of policing them, making it difficult to get your order. What a Charlotte-esque shop! Very unique, well-decorated, slightly quirky, and very artistic. The shop itself from the inside and outside are very welcoming and homey with floral artistry everywhere (hence, "Flower child"). The food is simple yet very unique. The Brussel sprouts, for example, also had a pickled cabbage, and overall, one dish has a variety of flavors and vegetables, even though the menu items sound simple. One criticism for the food is that it was all VERY salty such that I couldn't finish my meal. Overall, this is a perfect place for the spring, summer, or fall. And during the winter, the inside of the restaurant is still homey and welcoming. I arrived around 3:45 PM. After I ordered and looked for a table, I noticed that there was a group of approximately 30 or more women seated on the inside of the restaurant near the front. Then one of the women stood and directed the other women on how to do their practice walk to accept their certificates or licenses. The leader needed no microphone as she had a booming voice. Then she encouraged the women seated to clap loudly & whistling was also allowed. They were from a holistic hair tricology school. It really disturbed the quiet atmosphere that I anticipated and desired. I received my food quicker than I expected due to the large gathering of patrons from the school. Though I told the cashier that I didn't want any kind of peppers, chili sauce was spooned over my sweet potatoes. Also the ancient grains (which looks like lentils) was too salty. Luckily the avocado, chicken breast strips, cucumber salad, mushrooms & arugula had no salt. I love the variety of vegetables in the bowl, and it was very filling. I would definitely order this again BUT would stress no chili sauce on the potatoes so I don't have to wipe them off again. Since I was in a hurry, I didn't have time to send back the ancient grains for ones with only half the salt they used. Also, no waiter or waitress came to my table to ask about my food or if I needed anything. There were about 4-5 servers, so there's no excuse. There was only 2 other tables of customers and one of them had finished but lingered to talk. I will order to-go next time despite the nice physical atmosphere. read more

For covid dining in, order and pay at the register then you are assigned a numbered table and they bring the food to you. All staff had masks, were attentive and helpful. I felt safe eating here outside, but some customers didn't wear masks while moving around tables or exiting (annoying and unsafe) but not a reflection on the restaurant. This place has excellent customer service!!! and not to add the food is delicious. Entire staff is very attentive. I recently ate here outside and enjoyed the ambience as well as a sangria. I went back to the register to get a sangria and unfortunately a bird had come by and got in my food. Before i was even able to get back outside i was greeted by a staff member who informed me of what happened and told me that they were already remaking my food.
