Saturday brunch right as they opened. The staff are sweet and upbeat. Our avocado hummus and avocado egg toast was perfect. The flat bread that came with the hummus was soft ams yummy. Food is good but wow they have a lot to work out with the service. The cashier was rude and yelled at me for not knowing what number we were. The man in charge of that had two numbers in his and it wasn't clear which one he'd assigned us. Then they got the order wrong. Visited the Plano Flower Child location this week for lunch with a friend. She lives in the area and suggested it. I looked at the menu ahead of time and could easily see it was going to be a unique experience and I was right! When you walk up to the doors, the first thing you see is a cute water dispenser area with cucumber water and cups for anyone passing by. With the weather as warm as it's been, this was a very thoughtful gesture. Flower Child's menu is unique but they really do have something for everyone. I had the turkey avocado salad, which was delicious. For $14.45, I found it to be light on the turkey and avocado, but it was still delicious. They had an interesting selection of drinks, and the restaurant's ambiance was very appealing and kept clean. During the busy lunch rush, that was nice to see. I've been to Flower Child four times. Only one of the four times it went smoothly. The first two times was on Lowers and both times i had hair and i mean long hair in my avocado. This time I'm Plano i got the soup and they put it in a rather large looking cup but they didn't fill it. The bowl was leaking so i grabbrd a water cup they had sitting outside for water while you wait or arrive (nice touch). I thought I'll put most of it in the cup and quickly eat the remain but there was nothing left. The "big cup" is the exact same size of soup you get as the water cup. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. I got the Avocado Caesar with chicken. It was pretty good but hard to cut in the bowl since it would start to wobble. My husband had to hold it so it wouldn't flip over. My husband got salmon, kung pao cauliflower and cauliflower risotto. The salmon was small but tasted ok. I had hoped for more flavor from the kung pao cauliflower and we wouldn't order the risotto again. We didn't care for the nutty flavor. They have two teas--one Sencha green which I liked and one passion black tea which tasted weak. Chick-fil-a has good strong tea which is why it's so popular. Yoli at the Preston location is incredible, as is Flower Child in general, but today I felt valued as a customer. During peak lunch rush I'd made a mistake on my to go order, ordering to the wrong location. Yoli saw me standing in the crowd and walked up, then once she heard what happened sprang into action. She asked her chef calmly but directly to make the two bowls I'd ordered, and he calmly confirmed and made them right away. Yoli clearly garners respect in the workplace and her team clearly has an aligned mission. I was thankful for the help today. I made the mistake of placing an online order for the wrong location, but the two people helping me were so sweet and quickly got my order placed as well as called that other location to process a refund! I'm new to the area and was getting advertisements for it on Instagram and I came in and I was so surprised. The woman (Jen) at the counter recommended the chicken plate with Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese and it was perfect! She appeared to be training some people and it was nice to see that they were so thorough. Found out they just opened and that there were a ton of locations so I might stop by another one just to try it out! Will be coming back sometime next week to try those chicken enchiladas !
