Eating at Floyd's Seafood in Sugarland was overall a chill experience. My friend Luis and I went there around 2-3 pm, allowing our arrival to be calmer. Finding the location was rather effortless; it wasn't bunched up or hidden from any other buildings. Parking was a breeze; the parking lot offered endless room to ensure you could obtain a good spot that was close to the entrance. When we entered the establishment, we noticed how nice the environment was. From the wait area to the dining tables, to the restrooms there wasn't a hint of uncleanliness. The environment and menu embraced a open sea and pirate theme that felt diverse and unique. The service was spectacular. The woman at the front desk offered us a table in record time with a warm smile. Our server was a woman named Tabby; she served us excellently. She would always check in with us to make sure we're okay. She never seemed bothered if we needed or asked for help. She would also refill our cups as she passed by our table without us even having to ask. Luis ordered the seafood pasta, and I ordered the roasted Norwegian salmon. We received both dishes not long after. The seafood within the pasta was very flavorful, and the taste was well rounded throughout the entire dish. They did not hold back on any portions of seafood like crawfish, crab, or shrimp. The salmon was amazing. It didn't taste too salty nor too bland. The rice that was accompanied by it was tasty as well. The combination of the two made a mouthwatering dish. However, the sauce around it didn't taste good. Despite that, the plate was great. Luis and I finished our meals before we even noticed. We would highly recommend this spot to anyone who wants a great seafood experience. We give this place 4 stars. read more

Holy moly, something fishy is going on. I felt the urge to curse with every delectable bite. Instead, I just moaned my way through, much to the chagrin of my partner. I visited Galveston Bay Beer Company to try some of their new brews and feasted on these tacos from Floyd's Seafood Kitchen on Wheels! The sauce on top paired perfectly with the fresh mahi. My father was craving some crawfish so a family friend recommended to try Floyd's. Went on a Friday at about 2:30pm. Pretty busy at time of visit. Indoor and patio dining area was pretty full. Order 2 orders of their 3 pd crawfish, some of their specials, and I ordered the chicken fried steak with mash potatoes. Chicken fried steak was a bit dry and a little rubbery for my liking, but the mash potatoes were so good! My family really enjoyed the crawfish. Overall, it was a good visit with the exception of my Chicken fried steak. Not sure I would really revisit as their are other options that are much better. read more

On a cold day I was craving a hot soup and what's better than gumbo? Thinking about gumbo brought me to Floyds and it was a very good stop. I walked in during lunch, maybe around 1:30pm and was told to sit anywhere. I was alone and decided to just choose a table near the front if the boat-shapes building. My drink order was taken quickly and after a quick look at the menu, I chose a cup of shrimp gumbo and lunch portion of smothered chopped steak. My food came quickly and was delicious. The gumbo had a good dark roux and was sprinkled with file on top, which was nice and authentic. The shrimp were plentiful and a very good size. It was delicious and came with a piece of butter french bread The smothered chopped steak was topped with a mushroom and onion gravy that was soooo good and a side of creamy dirty rice. The plate was still steaming when it came to me and everything was hot and tasted fresh. The onions were tender and sweet and tasted great with the steak. We have not been to Floyds in a while. We went today for my mom's birthday, everything was delicious. The food and service was outstanding, everything we ate was cooked perfectly and the waitress, Clarissa, was fantastic! I got the surf and turf which was supposed to be done this weekend but they made it for me and OMG it was like eating butter, it was sooooo good. I love this place and it is one of my favorites. It just was not firing on many cylinders on this visit. Our server was wonderful. The food was just meh. Shrimp Diableaux seriously overdone. I came here with my parents the other night since I no longer eat meat, I was craving fish and oysters. So, I ordered catfish plate with a side of sweet potato fries and a half shell of oysters. As the oysters came out, they were thick in width and juicy to the tongue, but definitely freshly delicious. With a side of horseradish, cocktail sauce, and limes were added to the oysters - they were mouthwatering! Ultimately, I wanted fried catfish, but our waiter recommended that my dad and I share a plate a catfish since he ordered it grilled. I didn't complain since it'll be healthier. The grilled catfish was softer in texture and to taste, I enjoyed the flavor since it was light. They must have cooked it in a delicate amount of spices. I do like how it wasn't overcooked nor undercooked that's the best! I got the opportunity to sample my mum's catfish ettoufee - her catfish was fried, but it was light and battered in cornmeal. I adored the taste, tell ya what! Oh and let me not forget about those sweet potato fries - they were perfect! The last time I had sweet potato fries were at this burger restaurant in Lubbock and the fries there were cooked in old grease and were skinny. However, the sweet potato fries at Floyd's are thick, cooked in fresh grease, far from drenched in grease, but a hint of salt was added to fries. Wow, they were top notch delicious! If I could eat them again, I would definitely ordered them again and they would be the only thing I'd eat that night. So good! This location surprised my parents and I since the Pearland failed us. I PROMISE this place never disappoints me. This is by far one of my favorite places to eat Cajun food. Normally when I come here I get their boiled crawfish or some type of fish, but this time I chose their seafood pasta, which has some generous amounts of crawfish, crab, etc. meat. Each portion was like heaven (okay perhaps a slight exaggeration, but you get the hint). Not only is everything on the menu delicious, but they give you healthy portions. For any foodies out there like me, I know that's something you can appreciate. As far as dining arrangements are concerned they have a nice bar area that has TVs available for those that would be interested in checking out a game, they have a large indoor seating area, and decent sized outdoor patio. The service was awesome! Ciara went out of her way to find things on my restrictive diet. She was very friendly and my drink was never empty. And I drink a lot! There is a wide variety on this menu! We had a bowl of the creamy crawfish bisque ($11) and it was amazing! Lots of crawfish, very filling, and no bits of shell which is a personal pet peeve of mine! We also had the blackened catfish with onion rings ($11). The seasoning of the catfish was great but it did have that fishy taste to it that you sometimes get with catfish. The onion rings were nice and crispy with flakey batter. Overall the food was great, if maybe a tad pricey, but Ciara made our visit even better. And the portions, don't get me started on the portions. 17 dollars for two tiny pieces of catfish and 4 little shrimp? It did taste good, but for the serving size and amount of vegetables it was overpriced. $28 Ordered the kids meal cheeseburger and house cut fries for my son. he loved the burger, but hated the fries. they were very very vinegary. I had a couple of them and agreed. Also order the bread pudding for dessert. It was slightly overcooked, and covered in coconut shavings. Wish it would said that on the menu, as I would have asked to take that off or ordered something else. It came with a glaze on the side that made it okay.
