Customer traffic seems to stem heavily from nearby workers--all young with the customary key cards hanging from their waistbands and all engaged in conversations that sound like out of office meetings. The line stretching into the alley is scary long when you need something now, now, now. But if you have a little time and want to stop somewhere that feels special and a treat, Golden Goat works. I ordered a pretty boring drink because I wanted a tasty, too. The espresso had good flavor and it was the first time a barista treated me to some steamed milk art. The croissant was so flaky and flavorful, the best I've ever had. They even offered to heat it which I immediately accepted. I ordered the orange blossom which is a drink with honey, orange extract, espresso, and milk. It was pretty good, just the right amount of orange extract and honey so it's not overly sweet. We traveled from San Diego to San Francisco, spent time in Santa Cruz, and made our way back down the coast, trying several highly rated coffee shops along the way. While we had some excellent coffee, The Coffee Movement was our favorite. I ordered the seasonal apricot-orange latte, and it was absolutely incredible. I honestly could have had five of them (not that I should have!). It was perfectly balanced, unique, and one of those drinks you keep thinking about long after you leave. We also grabbed a muffin that was just as delicious. The shop has a cool, low-key vibe while still delivering exceptional quality. Parking took a little patience, but it was well worth it. If you're a coffee lover, this place is a must-visit. The Coffee Movement absolutely nailed it, and it's a spot we'll make a point to return to whenever we're in the area. Ordering is a bit chaotic but it fun and friendly cashier (no self-service kiosk) and they accept both credit cards and cash. Service is quick and efficient, making it the perfect place to grab a drink on the go. Keep in mind that there is minimum seating area in front of the shop, and a good place to see the SF Cable Car! So, it's fun place to grab-and-go spot. If you're craving a refreshing latte and Matcha with some long wait, this is a great choice. Graffeo not only makes good coffee, but also makes things right!…read more Last Friday, I was desperately trying to find parking near Columbus Street to get a pound of Graffeo dark roast whole beans. I had to illegally park, rush into the store and ask for the dark roast whole beans, give the cashier my card to run through, and then rush back to the car before I got a ticket. I moved my car to another illegal spot and repeated the process to run back into the store to pick up my beans. Unfortunately, when I got home, I found the beans they gave me were light roast beans! Not the dark roast beans I had wanted. I called Graffeo and told them what happened and Kristin who runs the customer service desk said they would just ship a bag of the dark roast beans to me! I was so thankful because I had just got back from a 6 week trip to Korea where dark roast beans have gone out of style and I was really missing a cup of hand-dripped dark roast coffee. My precious dark roast beans finally arrived and I realized how good coffee could be. A huge thank you to Graffeo and their wonderful staff! Their beans are definitely not cheap but they are worth every penny they charge! PS. I also learned that light roast beans are not that bad if the beans are sourced and freshly roasted perfectly as they do at Graffeo, but having good beans FRESHLY roasted the day before, and roasted the amount you like is heavenly!
