Since Fogo de Chão opened near my home, I've been a regular patron. I've consistently enjoyed the opulent dining room and ambiance, as well as the food, cocktails, and wine. Their happy hour offerings are also a great value. Unfortunately, the service can be hit or miss--and my recent experience on Easter Sunday is a good example. I reserved a table for five and we arrived on time. As we began ordering, we asked about the "Best of Brazil" promotion, only to learn that it wasn't available for the holiday. That was disappointing, though somewhat understandable. We moved forward with the full-priced Full Churrasco at $80 per person, recognizing that holiday pricing is often higher. About halfway through the meal, the cordless lamp at the center of our table stopped working, leaving the table noticeably dimmer. When we mentioned it to our server, her response was unexpectedly dismissive: "Yes, that's a lamp." One of my guests clarified, "Correct--and it's no longer working." The server then stood silently, as if waiting for further instruction, so I asked for a replacement. She returned shortly after, but dropped the new lamp onto the table with a thud and walked away without saying a word. Having worked in the service industry myself, I understand how demanding it can be. That said, this interaction felt unprofessional and borderline hostile. To be fair, the rest of the staff were excellent, and the food and drinks were as outstanding as ever. However, this experience gives me pause. It's a shame to rate a restaurant one one thing, but this ONE THING just grinds my gears. The food, service, ambiance, management, location, hours - all fantastic. So good that I signed up for the rewards program, which turns out...doesn't work. Not just for me, for everyone given all of the Yelp Reviews I'm seeing. I e-mailed the help center as suggested by the manager, included receipts and a detailed explanation of the problem. When I didn't hear back from them after a week, I added the current CEO (easy lookup for his name and their e-mail address format). Still nothing. If I've EARNED a BOGO meal, I should be able to use it, not get 'tricked' into having to pay full price for our meals every time we go. This has happened twice now. If the technology doesn't work, don't use it. I feel like I'm getting scammed or worse, mined for information. read more

Decided to give this place another try since my first time I gave it a bad review based on the service and not the food. Service was much better this time and the meat going around was not bad but a bit on the salty side. The salad bar was not as big as the one on 55th st one and not as much selection. I've been a Fogo Rewards member for some years now and travel around the States visiting a restaurant whenever I have the chance. I promote Fogo to all my friends and this was the case as well. While in NY visiting I planned with some friends that had never seen the gaucho experience. I was so embarrassed that this location was the one I brought them to. Reservation for 5 for 5:30pm on a Monday, you'd think things would go smooth. Arrived at 5:23pm and the hostess said I did not have a reservation. I showed her the open table app and she stated that she didn't have it on her tablet. The place was empty in the main dinning area from the door you could see just a family of 4 and a couple. She told us we had to wait to see if she could accommodate us. WTH?!?! The place is partially empty and I showed you my reservation, fine. We waited to be seated. Touhidur was our server, never asked our table if it was the first time, so here I was explaining the process like if I worked there. He was slow, lost, distracted and with no sense of urgency, we ordered drinks and proceeded to the salad bar. I was really upset to see the horrible set up, no replenished greens and only one person preparing meats at one oven. I figured the rest were in the back about to all come marching with all the tasty meat cuts. We sat for more than 20 mins before any meat would come out. The fried cheese with honey made its appearance, no one else. Next person that came out had lamb picahna and we mentioned wanting beef. He stated that it would take a while. So we weren't concerned cause we thought other meats would come out. That was the biggest problem, only 2 servers, no rotations of meats coming out, I asked for certain cuts and the gaucho flat out told us that they were struggling as only one oven was functional. You got to be kidding me, $80 each fur a full churrasco experience that we didn't get to experience because only around 5 cuts of meat came out the entire time and the rest never made its way out while we were there. Friends couldn't try the pork wrapped in bacon or the Parmesan. No type of chicken ever came out. No pork belly even when asked, nor ribs, or lamb chops. It was the worse service and really upsetting to see kitchen staff (4) sitting in a corner eating while everything was falling apart with service at this place. I apologized to my friends. This is not the Fogo Experience I'm used to and so pricey. I typically pay $65 for the same dinner and way better experience in DC metro area. The soups were cold, no bacon for feijoada and rice cold hard. This place was a rip off at $80 each dinner and to top it off, when paying the server didn't know how to break down what we gave him in cash and a card. I had to explain to someone else at cash register. I left disappointed and dissatisfied that I couldn't introduce my friends to the experience I so much love about other Fogos'. Did a date night with another couple. Great ambiance. Very good drinks. I had the cucumber mint smash, my girlfriend had the passionate caifirinha, and the men had the gold rush and then old fashions. All 4 of us opted for the indulgent churraaco. We loved it. So many options at the salad bar and the meats were tasty and seasoned well. We also loaded up on the cheese bread. OMG! so good. I just would have loved them to be more attentive as they were slow with the drinks and it was not very busy. read more

Review #600! I was so excited to come here for my solo Holiday Dinner on 12/17/2025! I made a reservation for 7 pm and was accommodated despite the front area of the restaurant closed off for a private Christmas party. I was seated right away and was given the menu. I had my heart set on Pork chops so I went with that along with Lobster Mac and cheese and the Lobster Tail. This was my first time at a Brazilian steakhouse so I didn't realize how much unlimited meat you receive despite specifically asking for a particular meat. After going to the salad bar (twice) I was able to have chicken and pork chops. For my drink I ordered the Passionate Caipirinha (10/10); it was strong and sweet. The Strawberry Hibiscus Caipirinha was actually too sweet for my liking so I was able to return it for no charge and got another Passionate Caipirinha instead. By the time it was time for dessert, I was too full. The food was absolutely delicious and satisfying. My waiter was attentive and kind. I loved my experience here and will definitely come back to this location and give the Downtown Brooklyn location a try as well. read more

This place is actually horrible! The first time I went, I thought it wasn't too bad, but my experience this time is a warning to everyone else who wants to come. It starts from the start - I had a reservation that was confirmed with Open table. I tell the hostess when we first walk in and she proceeds to gaslight me. She said are you sure can you show me, in which I show her my texts. Then she proceeds to tell me maybe it's for the wrong Fogo de Chao - I said if you look at my phone it says WTC. Then she says maybe I put in the wrong name , I said if you looked at my phone like you asked me you would realize it says Kayla. She the proceeds to say it's fine - as if I made the mistake? When clearly it was not my issue. She doesn't apologize and she makes us wait for a table. I also inform her on my original booking I put it's my father's birthday, she doesn't even acknowledge me. When we sat down, our waiter looked like he rather be anywhere else and when HE asked if we've been here before, I inform him that my parents have not. He briefly in the most fast paced way explains the menu, doesn't ask if my parents had any questions and then just left our table. Now the worst of it all, the service! HORRIBLE. Our waiter barely checked in with us and we were left to fend for ourselves. Now we also noticed towards the middle of our meal that the meats were skipping our table. Not once but three times we saw that other tables got offered different meats - and they just never came by to us. We even mentioned it to our waiter and he dismissed us saying, no no they're coming around. On top of that, the meats were COLD and RAW. I am all for a medium rare but the cow was literally still moo-ing on our plates. It was disgusting and we couldn't even eat it. At one point they brought out filet migon and then only served HALF THE TABLE. We had to tell our waiter, who once again barely did anything. The waiters came around asking if we wanted anything in particular and when we requested it, they didn't even come by and get us the meats? so what was the purpose of even asking us??? We never got anything for my father's birthday, so not only was he disappointed by the food but also we did not even get a chance to celebrate. Pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a fogo! It is smaller than the other locations I've been to, but was still able to get a table for 3 for a weekend dinner. Myself and another person in my party went for the summer special which included lobster tail or crab cake, but with fewer cuts of meat. I noticed this restaurant while walking to meet a friend at Brookfield Pl-when done visiting there we circled back and went in for a drink and apps. The first two things I noticed 1. has a very lovely atmosphere, 2. menu was filthy. How do you have such a nice looking venue and have a dirty menu? Doesn't take much to put it in plastic or laminate or something. Service was good-espresso martini was very good, although it took about 10 minutes to be served and friend was almost done with her wine by then. Appetizers-while tasty-it's laughable that they are under the label to be shared. The crab was very good but maybe a third to half cup serving. My friend had the lobster & shrimp tacos. She said they were good but I think they had maybe an 1/8 of food in the cabbage wrap. Lastly-the bathroom-I went in before leaving-very dirty. It was quite gross-things all over the floor. Just two days after my 40th birthday I was still indulging in some happy hour drinks somewhere else when my dad (who was visiting from Chicago) said he wanted steak. I thought Fogo is right across the street and we entered during an impending snow storm. Upon the walk in they lost a star bc no one was in the front the hostess failed to secure the door and I was left to my own neck breaking before I finally approached the bar and asked the house rules and at that point there where 3 parties behind us also bewildered but patient. She asked us to step to the side while she addressed the other parties I was assuming they had reservations so I didn't say a work when she sat us last. Anyway we sit down check it out the menu and order drinks. The waiter suggested 1 wine upselling I suggested another impressing my guest which was cool. The prices in the menu had me a bit turned around but I mean idk I was just like $80 or $100 to dine I thought that was a little steep and it's definitely NOT my first rodeo. Whatever my father was paying we ordered what we wished. He got the everything buffet, I got the picania and my son got the lobster Mac and cheese. One bit of lamb and my stomach could not handle whatever spice was on there and I literally was down for the count hot water and lemon for the rest of the meal how abysmal. But my son and father kept the party going. My father ONLY ate lamb which was a bit funny they would come around with the meat and he ate old say wait where is the lamb guy I need the lamb - every single time. He got both our money worth in lamb which deeply satisfied me I love seeing my Dad please. And my son devoured the lobster Mac and cheese and raved over the crème brûlée which my father and I debated wasn't solid enough. Although I didn't eat much I went to the ladies room like 4 or 5 times and I was so super disappointed. The bathroom is super small, filthy, garbage running over onto the floor filthy. The soap dispensers BROKEN I had to remove the top to properly wash my hands I really- like if it wasn't snowing so bad outside I would have LEFT and gone upstairs to my office that's how dirty it was I was like HOW???! And my father comes back as he's like what the hell is the bathroom maintenance off for the night. I hope when restaurant week comes around min January they have that in order bc I plan to bring my team but this experience leave me with doubts that that will happen. Had been to the Fogo de Chao in midtown NY a number of times so was excited to try this new one located downtown and was not disappointed. Went on a very busy Friday evening but they were managing the flow well. Impressive decor with very high ceilings providing a spacious feel. Excellent Market Table to start and the meats carved tableside were terrific. We especially liked the Picanha and the Lamb Picanha which is something that we had never had before. Given the full restaurant we were concerned at first that there wouldn't be enough servers with the meats going around or that our table would be missed but was not the case at all. They have the process mastered as every one of the offerings came by. Our server Ceamli was very friendly and helpful and even checked with us as we were winding down to see if there were any of the meats we would like more of and she made sure that one came by again. I recently visited Fogo de Chao, I had a great dining experience. Staffs were welcoming and warm. Quickly accommodated us. Place was clean. Only problem I experienced was the building had an issue with fire alarm which occasionally went off. Nothing that restaurant can do. The salad bar was fresh, clean and vibrant. They had all sorts of salad dishes. Please go check out the salad bar! The endless selection of meats was incredible. The servers knew meat really well. Every cut they made was perfect for my order. The servers were very attentive and making sure we get a delicious piece of meat on our plate. I came here for a work dinner after hours, and overall it was a decent experience -- especially if you're not the one paying. We did the full churrasco, which is what they're known for, at $80 per person. That said, I don't think anyone at our table came close to eating $80 worth of food, including the market bar, and the group was majority men. If I were paying out of pocket, I'd probably feel disappointed given the value. For a work dinner, though, it was perfectly fine. The steaks themselves were good. I'm not a huge steak person, but I still found them flavorful, and I appreciated that they offered cuts cooked to different temperatures to accommodate everyone. The servers came around frequently with more meat, which was great, though it was sometimes hard to tell which cut was which, as they weren't always explained clearly. I believe we tried three to four different variations. The market bar was just okay. A lot of the items looked better than they tasted, and some of the produce didn't seem to be in season (pineapple, tomatoes, etc.), which affected the overall quality. I think this would be much stronger if they leaned more into seasonal ingredients. That said, the restaurant itself is beautifully designed, and it's definitely a fun, lively experience if you're looking for something a little different. The variety seemed limited, and I grew tired of seeing the repeated stuff. I wish the sauces are available for the taking at the bar instead of asking for them. I thought they were flavorful but the mister said the chimichurri didn't have enough citrus. Generally speaking, the staff was pleasant. However, one particular server that was going around with the meats had quite the body odor that put us off our meal. We literally had to tell him to skip us because the stench lingered. We decided to leave and eat elsewhere. How is it possible that a place that sells steaks and unlimited meats runs out of burgers at noon? I suspect that the real reason why she claimed they don't have burgers that day was because she overheard my coworker saying he didn't plan to order a drink as it was work hours. I would have rather she told us that specials are tied to order drinks rather than lie about it. We won't be going back. This is the 3 visit and we had sub par service the other times as well. Long waits to get the food and forget about adjusting anything to your taste. We had a person who wanted chicken breast instead of dark meat in their food. 4 stars for salad bar, 3 for the meat I dined here a few months ago. L and I got the churassco just to try at their newest location. Their all day happy hour drinks are only $10... I get my caipirinhas with no sugar/syrup. It tastes much better without all that weird sweetness. I don't care for meat in general so I ate mostly from the salad bar but they do serve bacon which my usual spot no longer has.. I don't normally eat bacon even uncured but we usually get a few slices at Fogo if we see it. Everything at the salad bar was fresh and wasn't salty but I hear that some people we know went just recently and it was incredibly salty and the meat was chewy too. The meat which I tried a lil bit .. it was okay but some were dry. I like my steaks medium rare.. and if other customers request more cooked cuts.. then everyone served that particular skewer, receives dry meat. It is what it is. Then you wait till a better meat comes around and you continue till you're full. Again I mainly fill up on the salad bar.. I always get a bowl full of black beans.. pork .. with a spoon of rice on top. It's filling and healthier .. and very tasty. read more

Really wish they trained the staff better. With the claw machine event, they sure spent time on marketing. The decor is also nice. However, service is severely lacking. After we were brought to our table, we received little to no attention. No instructions - no water no explanations on how things work. We stared at our menu (2 per 4 people) and didnt know whether to order drinks, get salad or let the waitreas know of the set we planned to order. Over 15 minutes pass and guess what? Nothing. Very terrible service. We were taking a client from overseas here and we were mortified. Ran fast to Capital Grille nearby. Disappointing. On May 17th, I decided to have red meat, as I mostly eat white meat these days. As I was in Tribeca, I said to myself: "That's right! The rib from the bar menu is always well-prepared at Fogo 53rd. Therefore, I am sure the one at the WTC will be just as great". What an honest mistake! The bone, which is served as a garnish, seemed to have been "chewed to perfection" by someone else before they served it to me. The meat itself looked mediocre, dry and poor; the fat had been cut off from the pieces (as we know, the fat is what gives the flavor, not the Argentine chimichurri they serve with). It totally looked like whoever prepared that presentation, collected leftover pieces after dishes were taken from the dining room and back to the kitchen, and thought: "Let's not waste and re-serve it!" I even joked to the bar staff by saying: "Wow! Even the fat has been chewed up". The female Brazilian bartender said: "Well, the kitchen serves whatever they have there when you place the order", with a tone that she actually wanted to say: "Hello!!!". Yesterday, I once again wanted Steak. This time I went to Fogo 53rd, where I have been going since they opened. I ate the same dish as it has always been served in that location. We were hanging out in the oculus for an event in Seoul this restaurant. As we entered the building, we made a note and returned after for a fantastic happy hour at the bartender suggested. We get the cucumber basil drink. But of course, I love capirinhas, so I went with one of those. I should have gone with his recommendation . It was incredibly artificial in its sweetness, fruitiness was an afterthought. This made it virtually undrinkable. Now, his suggestion for the burger, was spectacular. It is one of the best burgers I've had this year. The bread was fluffy and held its integrity, even with all the sauces/juices from the patty. It comes dressed with smoked provolone, red onion, lettuce, tomato and some type of sauce, they create... polished up for the perfect bite. I ended up getting the regular fries, which were crisp and delicious. I ate half and had the second half for dinner the next day (small appetite) it was still amazing! Went to Fogo de Chão in NYC and honestly had a really good time. The meat is the main reason you go, and it delivered. Everything kept coming out fresh and hot, and the picanha was definitely the best cutsuper juicy and flavorful. The gauchos kept coming around consistently, so you're not sitting there waiting forever like at some other places. The salad/market table was actually better than I expected too. It's not just greens it's got a solid variety, and you can easily make a full plate if you want a break from the meat. Place has a nice vibe feels a little upscale but still comfortable. Good for a date night or even a group dinner. Only downside is the price--it's not cheap, so you gotta come hungry or it's not really worth it. Also gets pretty busy, so service slows down a bit during peak time. Overall, definitely worth trying if you like Brazilian steakhouses. I'd go back. read more

It was truly an unforgettable experience! I had never visited and I don't know if I'll ever go back. We ordered the full churasco, they never brought over the filet and only once brought over ribeye. I REPEAT, NO FILET WAS EVER BROUGHT OVER. We asked for Picanha which additionally didn't make it over till the last few mins of our EXPERIENCE. They offered us chicken and sausage 1000 times but nothing nicer. It felt like the wait staff were trained to "not hear" you ask for more after they cut off the thinnest piece possible and immediate ran away for any cut that was preferred. We asked the server for the premium cuts probably 12-15 times, FOR WHICH WE PAID FOR. I think the manager even spoke with us and still didn't send over the filet cut. "Ohhhh yeah boss it will be righttttt ova"....Not once! Manager must be running a cheap cheap operation. It was appalling to having to continue to ask and get nowhere. The first espresso martini was a send back, no froth, tasted like a flat soda. It also took very long for all drinks ordered. Even a glass of wine took 15 mins.. The bathrooms were a f***ing dump - This half tells you who their typical client is and half tells you they have no one cleaning them or an under staffed restaurant. Not a family friendly or business appropriate operation. Lastly the ambiance! The restaurant is outside a building that has 100 LED lights per square inch. The curtains on the windows of the restaurant are so paper thin it feels like you have a police spot light on you and you're about to be arrested. PUT YOUR HANDS UP AND STOP (asking for the food you paid for) IN THE NAME OF THE LAW! Salad bar is plentiful and clearly they want you to fill up on carbs so you don't eat their precious meat. Are they planning on saving it for the next day ? Reselling it out the back door? Or just throwing it away after starving you? How could I NOT like Fogo De Chão! The minute you walk in, you're impressed by the decor. I would say I'm not a fan of the tables so close to the from entrance but hey to each his own. The service was good. My party of 3 made a reservation we walked right in. The waiters and waitress were attentive. Though my waiter had a heavy accent and he was talking fast lol it took time but we finally came up with menu selections. We went with the $100 all you could eat meal. Each person at the table had to get the same meal selections in order to select that meal option. Anyway, everyone receives a coaster like placement. Red on one side green on the other. When green the waiters walk around with different meat selections. They ALL walk over to you with different meat selections. Most were good, I did not have them all. If you don't want any more meat DO NOT forget to turn change the coaster to red lol They are like vultures when on green. They do have salads selections and rice in a different area of the restaurant, you have to go retrieve them yourself. Great place for drinks and hang out with friends. The appetizers were tasty! My friends and I had the sliders, empanadas, cheese and drank Caipirinhas. The ambience is very upbeat and the place is huge and open! The waiter was absolutely efficient and personable. We had a great time at this place! I can't wait to go back with my family. Best Fogo I've been to. Great ambiance, decor, space etc. Very well staffed with a great selection from the rodizio menu. Didn't have the time or attention span to take pics of the actual food, so you know it was all good. read more

Terrible Service - Not Even Worth One Star I had dinner at Fogo de Chão near the WTC in New York yesterday evening, and it was one of the worst service experiences I've ever had. I made a reservation for three people through OpenTable and noted that it was for a birthday celebration. But when we got to the table, it was set up for four. Even after we sat down, the fourth setting wasn't cleared for a long time. We had to ask the server to remove it, and even then, they said, "Oh, you're not four people?" and still didn't clear it right away -- we had to ask twice to get it done. I had also called the restaurant in advance to ask about the $45 wine corkage fee, and they told me a server would help pour and serve the wine. But that didn't happen either. * The server poured just one glass at the beginning and never came back to check. I had to pour the wine myself for the rest of the meal. * No one came to take our order at first. We had to stop another server and ask who was taking care of our table. That server just said, "I'm your server," which was a surprise -- no one had introduced themselves or offered help until we said something. * For everything -- drinks, dessert menu, dessert order, coffee, the bill -- we had to ask 2 to 4 times before anything happened. It didn't feel like service, it felt like we were constantly chasing staff for the basics. The worst part? There was no birthday service at all, even though I clearly wrote it in the reservation and mentioned it again in person. We got a dessert with just "thank you" written on it. No candle, no message, no effort. Most restaurants in NYC will bring a candle or something small even if you don't ask. Here, we told them in advance -- and still got nothing. This was supposed to be a special night, but I left feeling totally ignored and disappointed. After the meal -- and after we already paid $400 -- I told the manager about all of this. He apologized and offered to take one meal off the bill, but it was too late. I had already paid, so I politely declined. He said, "Next time I'll leave a VIP note," but honestly, I wouldn't come back here again. I didn't want anything fancy -- just the basic service they said they'd provide. My family and I dined last evening. We weren't feeling that hungry so we all landed on just the market table. For $40 you get a good variety but I thought the food could have been a little fresher. The smoked salmon tasted a bit fishier than normal. Also, I felt like items weren't being replenished soon as they were running out. I tried the soba noodles and they seemed dry. The bread was also stale and super dry. Overall the market table left more to be desired. read more

For our vacation, we had made reservations here. This was my first experience being at the this chain of restaurant. The place was clean with a nice ambiance. Service was amazing with an abundance of serving staff. You choose what you want for dinner. We chose a certain experience. For starters, you can go to a salad bar with a variety of salads, cold cuts and cheeses. Certain waiters come with an array of meat cuts. Each waiter will come with different types of meats to your table. If your coaster is green, they would come and offer you the protein on a large skewer and cut the meat in your desired temperature to like cut. Had a great experience. Had dinner with my family here since we live neighborhood and wanted to try something new. Pros: a Beautiful Space Cons: Too Expensive for what they claim to offer but you literally have to practically BEG for the better cuts of meat or even chicken. They brought around some gross looking sausage and their house meat. For $80-$100 PP i would at least expect the filet cut to be brought out ! When i asked it took a VERY long time to arrive and honestly it was not good. It was actually very chewy and not great. Truly a disappointment for the amount we paid-i would NEVER recommend this to my friends. I am on a group of over 700 people for the downtown area that recommends many restaurants and places in this area and this will never be on this list. read more

We sat down for lunch and was told our waiter will be with us shortly however it took a while until she did. The bus boy however did give us water and the cheese bread right away. As for the waitress when she arrived we ordered the surf and turf special but the waitress seemed to not know what it was and went to the back and checked. She came back with the special cards and too our seafood items for the special. We then started to eat and the market table was as expected with tasty items to choose from. The selection of meats for the special were ok but not great. Probably opt in for the full experience of going. After a long while our waitress came back and asked if our seafood items came and they didn't. She went to the back and after a long while again they came out and we only saw our server when it was time to pay the bill. The workers that serve the water were scarcely found. Overall the experience wasn't great. The only saving grace is they had one meat server who was funny and attentive. Ambiance wise it does look nice as the location is relatively new. I'm not sure about coming back again. read more
