Stopped in on a whim before a show at the Metro and had one of the best meals I've had in ages. Casual in jeans and tees, we still felt totally welcome. Service was spot-on--two servers kept everything flowing and our glasses full. The "pig parts" menu stole the show--kidney pie with a perfect crust and melt-in-your-mouth cheek. We also devoured the focaccia, pork loin, sausage ravioli, and capped it off with almond cake and peach cobbler alongside coffee. Fantastic food, warm service, and a vibe that makes you want to come back. Foodies, don't miss this spot!

Foraged offers an intimate dining experience in a cozy setting. Service was friendly, attentive, and informative. The winter menu of food and drinks highlights fresh, local ingredients. Everything we tried was very good. I would like to come back to try the spring and summer menus, which are hopefully offer a little more lighter fare. The winter dishes we tried were a bit heavy and had sauces that tasted nice but didn't allow the local meats and vegetables to be as pronounced as I would have liked.

Lions mane crab cake - yummy I guess. But I'd rather have real blue crab

Service was good, but I took a star off because one of the servers took our rolls to box them, but instead they disappeared. They were my favorite thing I had. My husband encouraged me to not say anything. The food was good but I just wasn't feeling it last night. The tables were too close together and it was too loud. This was my second visit to Foraged. The first experience was much better. We had no alcohol and our bill came to $167 + tip. I'm thinking for that money, I'd rather go elsewhere

I thought I would finally try foraged this restaurant week as I have never been and they have been open for a really long time! This restaurant is an institution in Baltimore. They used to be in Hamden before they took over the old Orto restaurant (RIP - the owner of that restaurant was a really bad person, but that Italian food was so epic). This is important because the venue is lovely. I love the intimate setting of the restaurant you walk through a curtain. It's cozy. It's elegant. They've kept a lot of the existing structure, but they've decorated with lots of mushroom pictures and random T-Rex toy. It's very earthy and cute. Forage often falls under the radar and I think there are people who really love it so I was excited to do their five course chef's offering. The service I had at foraged is hands down the best service I've ever gotten in Baltimore. The staff is really friendly. They're attentive and I never had to ask them to refill my water once. Which is a HUGE deal. I will say I think the five course is a lot of food and they were really generous with their amuse bouche. It was like a platter of food - and because I mentioned to our waiter, I wanted to try their lions mane crab cake. They included that in there, which I thought was so kind. I really enjoyed their mushroom stew, the meat dishes were fine but not as elevated as I thought they could've been. Forage is a little bit on the pricier side, compared to some of the other restaurants but it's very good. It is definitely not all vegan but very vegan friendly. This is not somewhere I want to go back to immediately, but the service was extremely memorable. My only complaint is that their wine pours were on the smaller side, and for $16 I want a tiny bit more.

If you're looking for an elevated dining experience, that is both impressive, artistic, an extraordinary delicious, this is the place. The level of detail and creativity could be considered art. The staff is friendly, inviting, and knowledgeable. The location is small, but romantic, so I think about this place. The next time that you want to impress a date or impress yourself at how cultured you are.

The food, service, ambiance at Foraged were all excellent. It was my first time visiting since they moved from Hampden and I have to say that I'm sorry it took me so long. The "lowlight" if you will was the Franklin coop salad which was unremarkable. Every other item was superior to the one that preceded it. I will return soon!

One of my new favorite spots in Baltimore and would recommend it to anyone looking for recommendations in the area! Came here for restaurant week 2025 on a Saturday night. While it was busy and lively, we were seated quickly. The service was amazing- friendly, attentive, and fast! The space itself is beautiful and all the trails and seating was beautiful as well. Going to the food-if you didn't know, they change their menu regularly so the food here may not be the same when you do go. Ended up getting the pre-fixe with a few additions. Started with the mushroom stew and the "crab cake" - both amazing and highlighted mushrooms in different and amazing ways. The stew was super hearty and comforting and the cake flavors were on point for me. We ended up adding on the pig socket from the recommendation from our waiter -which was seasoned amazingly- especially when paired with the pickles and sauce. We ended up getting the snout as well due to a mistake, which was also amazing, but honestly liked the socket better. We would have been happy with either to be honest. For mains got the Maryland scallop and lambs neck. The lamb was a stand out for me- all the elements worked together so well. Dessert was the tiramisu and the chocolate pot de crème dish. My partner and I loved both and couldn't decide which one we liked better. Would easily come back just for those alone. Overall amazing experience and already planning on our next time to visit. I really support the mission of highlighting local ingredients. If it wasn't already clear, I really think foraged is something special and worth visiting !

I had a fantastic dinner here from beginning to end! My brother was in town for a concert and we both decided to try the 3-course menu. The complimentary beef croquettes at the beginning were a fantastic start to the meal. I loved my lion's mane "crab" cake - it was so rich and bursting with flavor; it was probably my top bite of the night. The duck was perfectly cooked and the parsnip puree was a delicious pairing. We both loved the butternut squash cheesecake and agreed it was like an infinitely better pumpkin pie. The complimentary mini chocolate chip cookie managed to stay soft and chewy despite the size. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations (including the duck, which I would have regretted missing). All in all, it was a great night and I would love to return and try more of the menu, as well as the a la carte pig options. What a cool concept and great execution!

What a wonderful pre-birthday dinner treat! My goal was to eat nutrient foods tonight and everything was a win-win! I started my dinner with a lovely beet salad topped with lightly oiled arugula and gingerbread crisps - cleaned the plate! The salad paired perfectly with the Honeybush Decaf tea. My main course was the Maryland blue catfish, lightly seared to perfection, sitting in between two beautifully charred Brussels heads. The accouterments surrounding included sunchokes and mini-cubed turnips. I could literally drink the au jus, it was so memorable. My dinner wrapped up with lovely service from Eva, as she came by and gave me a petite amuse (chocolate chip cookie and a dark chocolate bite, heaven)! The restaurant ambiance is adorned with 'foraged knick-knacks' as well as pictured mushrooms abound. So lovely and quaint, thank you foraged team for a great intro to December ! Thank you Eva for your impeccable service!

I loved it. Great cozy atmosphere and extremely welcoming and knowledgeable staff. My server was Kay, and they were so attentive. I went ahead and chose the 5 course chef tasting menu with the wine pairing. Started with the roasted herb crusted oyster, a honey-nut butter, marinated garleek (a seasonal cross btwn garlic and leek), deviled egg with tarragon and lions mane crab cake served with prosecco. Next was a salad with golden beets, arugula, goat cheese and sweet potato chips, alongside a white wine. Third course was an unoaked Chardonnay to accompany the mushroom stew, which included shiitake, oyster and lions mane and a poached egg on top. Fourth I enjoyed an off dry Riesling alongside a grilled scallop. Next was a crispy fish on top of a barley risotto, not my favorite dish but not bad. Finally was a tiny purple potato pie, delicious, a little hard and a bit small. If I could give it a 4.5, I would! My main drawbacks were the flavors/textures of the final courses, the fish and the pie. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to return.

It's the freshness for me! I was so impressed by the quality of the ingredients and how it transformed the food. The food we had was so mindfully crafted. The burrata was so good. I had never had it with corn before but it was cold and had a refreshing summer taste. The sourdough focaccia is a must order. We kept that coming back to the table. The liver mouse was very good! I wish it was paired with bread instead of a crispy cracker though. The pig parts were a mixed bag. Some were more familiar and others were more experimental. I'd recommend trying out a couple. I wasn't a big fan of the ears because I didn't really get a lot of flavor from them and the texture was a bit tough. But it was still cool to get that experience We got the last order of scallops. The scallops were so tasty! But it was a very small portion. We tried more things but I missed getting photos of everything. I had the cod for my main and it was tasty but a little too salty for my preference. The dessert was so amazing as well. They were light and fluffy and tasted like artisan desserts. The server was really kind but because of how busy they were, some of our requests were forgotten about. It's possible they may need more staff to help make the service experience more seamless. But they did a good job overall. I will absolutely be returning to try their set tasting menu! The vibe of the place is pretty moody. The downside is there's not much for restrooms. There's one stall for women and men each and they're shared with conjoining businesses.

We've come to foraged twice now in the past couple months, first for restaurant week and now just to have dinner before a lyric show. Both times we've had the 3 course menu, which we've realized gives you the same as the 5 course meal if you're willing to share, plus you get to choose. Although pricey, the pig parts always feel worth it as a starter. This time, the jowl was so good it's a keeper, less fatty than belly with that crunchy skin. The mushroom stew consistently might be my most favorite dish. But everything's delicious. Their chocolate pot de creme is definitely a great end to the meal. Last time I didn't like the third wine pairing that went with dessert and told the waiter this time. The sommelier came over and let us choose- I got the Sauternes instead and that made me very happy!

My wife and I enjoyed the chef's table experience last night for our anniversary. It was exceptional in every way. Each course was creative, delicious ,and beautifully constructed without being unnecessarily complex. The service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun but also fitting for a romantic meal. We really enjoyed watching our dishes being prepared and the interaction with the chef before each course. We will definitely be back.

Since it was New Year's eve, there were few patrons or maybe this is the usual scene? Don't know. But there are some comfy couches by the front in which a young couple with a baby was nursing. Another couple was just finishing up dinner and started to head out. We were the only two diners for about 20 minutes before another couple came in for dinner. There were also about two or three people at the bar. So basically a very quiet place. No one at the hostess stand, only a woman at the bar. She eventually sat us and took our order. Things were slow but not so slow that I would complain. I would surmise that most of the staff was off that evening. Food was also slow in coming so there might have been a small crew in the kitchen as well. We ordered the mezze appetizer. Nothing to rave about. It was just a plate with vegetables and hummus. We both got the wagyu burger and fries. The whole meal was quite decent. The meat was cooked to the correct temperature and the fries were crispy. It was quite filling for me. Maybe it was NYE but everything was quiet and nice.

It was a short and lovely walk from my hotel, and I was dining alone and initially I wasn't sure how I felt about having a solo dining experience at an upscale restaurant. My concerns were immediately dispelled as soon as I opened the restaurant door. Two men greeted me and were incredibly gracious and welcoming. They quickly found my reservation and asked me if it was my first time at the restaurant and what brought me to town. Since it was pretty early for dinner (6pm on a Monday) they gave me options for where I wanted to sit, confirming that the lounge seating I reserved was best for me because it placed me near the large bay windows that faced the harbor and the setting sun. My waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. He not only knew the menu, but he had tasted several items and gave me direct feedback on items. I decided on the three-course menu with wine pairing. For starters, I had the fried oysters. The fry was light and crisp, and oysters were flavorful, still holding the freshness of the ocean. The olive bread serving was a nice touch. The second course was white truffle fettuccine with mushrooms. The mushrooms were tender, absorbing the flavor of the seasoning. The fettuccine was fresh, light and richness of the white truffle was a perfect compliment, but not overpowering. The third course was crispy wild halibut with a zucchini beignet. Again, they do a beautiful job with frying fish. The fish with lightly fried enough to get a nice crispy, but with no oily after taste. The zucchini beignet was crisp and fresh. The tartar sauce for the halibut gave the elevated dish a hearty, fun, comfort food finish. The wine pairings were perfection. From the Cremant d'Alsace Brut bubbly, which offered a refreshing and bright flavor to go with the light oysters, and even the Chardonnay, Dehlinger, which offered a citrus accent that was a nice balance with the warm, rich embrace of the fettuccine dish, Charleston sommelier experts make every effort to ensure that pairing enrich the dining experience. For those looking for an elevated dining experience in Baltimore by the Harbor, where you really feel taken cared of, I'll suggest visiting Charleston. Every staff member I engaged with, even as a solo diner, made me feel like I was a treasured guest.

The major hiccup we experienced was my gluten free lamb shank pasta being sent to the vegetarian sitting at the table next to us. Watching this unfold and the server's exasperated reaction was very awkward. That being said, the manager (or maitre d?)'s graceful handling of the situation thereafter was great. He told us what happened, played it off well, explained that it would be a bit of a wait for our next course as a result, and ended up comping all our wine. Really classy touch. However, even after the long wait for the pasta, it was ultimately under-salted under-seasoned and not impressive at all. As much as I appreciate the gluten free option, I wish I had just gotten something else especially after all that trouble! The rest of the service throughout the night was also oddly paced. We ordered less courses than last year (only three) but we were there for almost four hours. Tables around us who arrived after us were served their first courses before we even had a chance to order. We were asked to pick out a wine first before choosing our food and since we weren't sure what we were eating, we weren't ready to select a wine. Even just getting the food menu took a bit of waiting around. Our server didn't inquire about any food allergies either so it was tough making decisions when I wasn't sure what was gluten free - and this was an allergy that was noted in our reservation, too. At another point, I asked for a glass of red wine three different times until finally the maitre d grabbed it for me after the pasta debacle happened. As for the rest of my meal, the scallops and lobster soup were both yummy but not anything life changing. However, my boyfriend's lamb chop dish was very very delicious. The one bite I had, paired with the pomegranates, was heaven. By the way, they offer gluten free bread service too. Has the Charleston lost their touch after the recent James Beard press? I'm not sure but I do hope they step things back up again. You come to expect a little more from an institution like this, especially after being totally blown away last year.

My friend said I had to come here. We did. As soon as we stepped out of the Uber the adventure began. The building is so out dated but the entrance door held its charm. Neon lit Edgar portrait reading from a book his Annabel Lee. Complete with a bouquet of flowers. To the right more words of the writer surrounded with a few tables and chairs for those willing to chill in the cold. Inside was no different. Several crows, skulls everything you'd expect. And a well stocked bar. Many writings on the wall, articles, awards, etc all added to the vibe and theme. And of course dimly lit but you could still read the menu. We were guided to the back for our party of 5, in a corner away from everyone else. That made it easy for us to converse as we perused the menu exclaiming this and that of the dreadful names used and deathly ingredients mixed in. It definitely made it more appetizing. After working all day I was ready for a drink and settled on the To Isadore; gin, lavender syrup, lemon squeeze topped with segura cava. That hit the spot. Unfortunately, I had eaten quite a bit on this trip and forced myself to order the Chef Salad. Nothing more to say there. My wife, though, ordered the seafood lasagna. Never had that and it didn't sound like something I could get into. I was wrong. This is Baltimore. The seafood here is astounding. It was delicious and had to take a couple spoon fulls. My friend ordered the double beef patty burger. I was jealous until he offered me a bite. That was really good too, and juicy. It has been a minute since I have been to Topside. Perched on the 14th floor, Hotel Revival, this…read morerooftop restaurant has always been known for its views, sunny brunches and cozy dinners. Got together with a few friends for dinner during the holidays and it never disappoints. We stopped in on a Sunday, early evening around 5:30. It was pretty quiet so we were quickly seated at our table. Our server for the evening, Josh was phenomenal. Josh is pretty much knowledgeable about the entire menu and gave us wonderful recommendations from food to cocktails. And answered any questions that we had, I wound definitely sit in his section all the time. I highly recommend. Our table ordered a plethora of entrees, from the Chesapeake Cioppino( a seasfood stew with clams, mussels, rockfish, Maryland crab and fennel), a phenomenal dish and perfect for cold evenings. The Rockfish entree was really delicious and I was blown away with the crispy okra. Definitely a nice touch to the dish. It sits in a goan curry sauce, so delicious. You can never go wrong with their burger. The cracked pepper bacon along with the caramelized onion jam was really good on this burger and it was cooked perfectly, nice and juicy. We also had the Shenandoah lamb and the shrimp and grits, which were not pictured, my friends enjoyed those dishes as well. They have nice cocktail menu as well, all the cocktails are named after songs, such as Like a G6 for example. If you're in the Mount Vernon area of town, stop in and check them out. They also offer brunch and happy hour service as well. You won't be disappointed SYOY I

We came here for brunch because we were staying at the hotel there. This was terrible. We made a…read morebrunch reservation and after ordering, our food took 45 minutes to come. We didn't even get our scone before the 45 minutes. About 35 minutes in, we looked around us and noticed that not a single table that came before us had their food either. The servers said something about how everyone came in at the same time for the reservation which doesn't even make sense because the restaurant should be staggering food. Service was poor and servers were rude overall. We tried to ask if they were serving anything other than the brunch menu (like if there was a lunch menu too) and the girl looked at us like we were dumb. We later saw the table next to us with a burger, which was NOT on the brunch menu so obviously he was able to order out of the brunch menu. I got the Avocado Toast w Poached Egg. The flavor combo was unique, but was overall mid and the bread they used was not a good pick for an avocado toast. It was thick and soggy. Overall, food was mid. Service was terrible and the wait was ridiculous.
