A delivery guy rang my doorbell, greeted me pleasantly, and handed me a bag of steaming hot food. Food: Pretty darned good for 10 p.m. on a weekday night. The order was correct, and the food was hot when it arrived. The miso soup was tasty, although the flavors were a little different than typical Japanese restaurants. The orange chicken hit the right note of sweet, salty, and crunchy. While not the most exciting dish, the broccoli beef tasted fresh and had just the right amount of sauce. House fried rice was plentiful and seasoned just right. The upshot: Their food is solidly good, if tailored to American tastes. I ordered for delivery at 9pm. They arrived on time and were very polite. However, the fish was slimy and room temperature. Slimy fish means that it's frozen fish. Room temperature fish means that it's been out for a while; two hours at least if it's frozen, which means potential food poisoning... I paid $34 for my meal and I expect it to at least be cold. The tuna was grainy and pink (i.e. frozen), the salmon was slimy, and the cuts of fish were massive (not an appetizing dish). I also got the Unagi, which was kinda bland and, again, room temperature. I've ordered from this place a few times and the food has been okay so I only order from them when I'm low on time. I had friends over so I ordered a bento box, sushi, and orange chicken. The food was very mediocre (chicken teriyaki from the bento box tasted like it was frozen from Costco with no flavor) and to make it worst, the driver demanded a tip. My friend went to grab the food and intended to give him a couple of dollars (on top of the delivery charge), but the driver handed over the food then immediately pointed at a paper and said, "the tips says cash." My friend was taken off guard, but it felt weird so he decided not to tip since the driver demanded it. By the time he walked back down to my place, the driver called my phone (I'm sure to ask for a tip). I didn't pick up, but I did walk out to give him some cash (depending on his response was how much I was going to give him). When I arrived at the gate, he did not greet me and immediately pointed at a paper and said, "The tip says cash." I handed him the dollar, thanked him and wished him a good night. This is our go to place to order when we don't want to leave the house. It's especially convenient that you can just order your items and pay through yelp. They also have a wide variety of food from japanese, chinese and american dishes. The downside of ordering from here are; there will be a couple time where you wont receive what you ordered i.e. honey walnut shrimp; you might get honey walnut chicken. There is also usually one delivery driver so if you order during prime time be prepared to wait a couple hours and receiving your food cold. Their sashimi cuts are huge and pretty fresh. Their bento box are very satisfying and their chinese food is okay (typical american chinese food nothing to write about it lol). Its also dope that if you order a certain amount they include a free sushi roll to your order and they also give you hella portions for what ever you order. read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars. I've been coming to this Chinese food place since it opened. Best I've had in Oakland. The food is absolutely delicious. A plenty of different foods. I don't order American food from here. Never have. In terms of their healthy salmon with side of brown rice. It's amazing. If you're feeling adventurous ask for "Dried fried chicken" it's amazing, made with jalapeños and onions grilled. The real crab fried rice just as good as it sounds. Only thing I wouldn't recommend is their miso soup. Sesame chicken is really good. I've yet to try their sushi but, I'm seeing some good reviews. So it will be next on my list. Jalapeno lovers this is what you need to order! They are not stingy in adding Jalapenos and ingredients to their recipe. They are also prompt in delivering. They usually say 45 mins to 1 hr. but delivery guy comes knocking on your door after 30 mins. I also like how their foods are packed for delivery. It is not the usual Chinese boxes that you get, it's one of those black rectangular sturdy to go boxes with clear lid so you don't have to guess which box has which item. Terrible! They also sell sushi, as "Sushi Sogo" (they share the same phone number & address, this review is for Sushi Sogo) -- it was a bad idea to order and such a waste of money. I ordered the Soft Shell crab, Shrimp Tempura Roll, & King California Roll w/real crab meat. Soft Shell Crab burnt...like they should have saw that the when they plated my dish. Shrimp Tempura Roll, decent at best and the King California Roll, fake crab all throughout that roll. NEVER WILL I ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN! I really like this place because their bentos are affordable and a really reliable level of delicious. We usually order Japanese food from here, which is confusing because they're largely listed as a chinese food restaurant. Anyway, some tips: The chicken teriyaki seems to be dark meat, so keep that in mind if you don't like it that way, but their Shrimp Dumpling Miso Soup is an amalgam the likes of which I've never had before -- and I definitely recommend giving it a try. Also, if you order a Sashimi Bento they give you HUGE SLABS of fish (that are very nice), so I wouldn't recommend ordering any side dishes. You'll be very full. Finally, their Avocado Salad is really effing good. I don't know what makes it so good, but it's really good. It's like an entire avocado in there. Fantastic food. Consistent, fresh, high quality and reasonably priced. I usually order take out delivery with the Eat24 App and the food gets to my place in around 25 mins. When I order Sushi, it's incredibly fresh and well presented. So good, it rivals many sit down eateries I've been to. Fish and Chips are very tasty, as is the Edamame. Although, the Edamame does come totally un-seasoned or favored. (I make a mix of melted Kerrygold butter, crushed garlic, and soysauce and toss the Edamame through - delicious!) The healthy Salmon dinner is cooked to perfection, and magically stays fresh through delivery. They also imported soporo premium brew, which is hard to beat! The takeout was very convenient for the family to eat on the drive home across the bridge during rush hour. The chicken wings were crispy and yummy (served with Ranch - I'd prefer some kind of yogurt sauce). The Scallop Love Roll was tasty (has a mayo-like sauce topping). And the gyoza are tasty too, crispy deep fried with a moist filling. I wouldn't hesitate to order from here again on the way to/from the zoo. Then 2 weeks into the experience, the minimum goes up to $20 and my budget maximum was looking for that $15 + tax and +tip. Much of the delivery menu items are fried discount foods that taste like they came from frozen. Good sized portions. Average quality entrees. Have not tried Sushi menu.
