The place is always packed though, but there is additional parking in the back lot if you come during the busy times. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. I prefer to sit indoors because of how homey the decor is. Each table has its own toaster as well so your toast never goes soggy! Service is always so warm and fast. Feels like you're dining in someone's home tbh. French toast special 5/5 - this is one of their most popular orders for a reason. One of the best French toast I've had. It's pretty standard French toast without all of the razzle dazzle that other places try to "fancy it up." Which honestly says a lot. It comes with a side of sausage or bacon, and eggs. Ones of the best dishes in my opinion. Chicken fried steak 4/5 - I always love a chicken fried steak and theirs is solid. I do want a little more seasoning on the steak but the gravy makes up for it. Been here for breakfast many times and loved every second of it. Today I decided to give lunch a try They have a massive parking lot and a large sitting area. The place is an old school establishment and classic breakfast spot. The service is great and everyone greets you immediately upon entering the front door. Now on to the food. We ordered an avocado wrap but some of the pieces had little to no avocados. I also ordered a New York steak and a teriyaki chicken . Was here on a Sunday morning and even though it looked busy, it didn't take too long for my party of 2 to be seated. We were flexible and willing to take inside or outside, whichever opened up first. Parking lot in front of the restaurant was a bit tight and was full but there was a lot of movement so managed to get a spot without much effort. Food was good overall. Coming to Foxy's is like participating in an LA institution. We went for Sunday breakfast, bright and early, and got a nice outdoor table. Although, indoors wouldn't have been bad either with how warm and homely it is inside. The menu has diner classics but my party went with southwestern style breakfast plates. Our server was great with our requests for sharing plates and refilled our hot drinks without even needing to be asked. The food is delicious, no-nonsense, and priced reasonably. First time at Foxys and it was nice. I am not a fan of the dirty toasters at the table. They have many options and looks like they're delicious options. I like Foxy's. I like the food and the parking but when I was there on a Thursday for lunch at 12:30pm there must have been a staffing shortage. We waited 20 minutes for a table when there was clearly 6 or 7 empty tables. It just did not feel right. The host was dead in the eyes. No affect or customer service skills. Anyway, my hamburger was good. The meat was so juicy it made my bottom bun soggy. The restaurant is still appealing. It has a unique look. It's aging but nice. This review is based on today's experience and past experiences. This is THE brunch spot in Glendale. It's packed every weekend with families. The food is always solid and the service is typically great. Today, we had an unusually bad time, breakfast took about 40 minutes and our waitress was a mess (she let us know she was new, but she was having a rough day). So I can vouch for their service being fantastic about 90% of the time, but today was an off day. I chose this place for it being convenient to Americana, but didn't think much of it. When I entered, the place felt cozy to be in and the staff were very kind and greated me and my friend. We sit down and they gave us plenty of time to go over the menu and decide on what to get. First off, the menu had a strong diverse palate of dishes and looked great for the price. I first ordeted guacamole with chips and ahi tuna and both were amazing and, for what you get, its great for the price. I then ordered shrimp fajita and when I got it and everything was delicious, the variety of grilled veggies, the tortillas excellent in taste and the shrimp coming out perfectly. What happened to our favorite restaurant? Friday 11am, there are plenty of tables, and 20 minutes wait? We were one of a half dozen parties waiting while tables sat empty. Once we ordered , we struggled to get attention from the waitress several times almost like Chinese restaurant; They cut back lots of staffs; pay at counter wait again 10 mins because the same person taking money is also taking to-go orders. I'd been wanting to come here forever, so finally gave Foxy's a try for brunch. It is so cute inside! I love A-frames. The dining room is adorable, and there is a fireplace on each side. There's also a bar area in the front, as well as outdoor seating. My husband and I sat inside in the front area by the window. We didn't have to wait at all despite it being pretty busy. Our server was very attentive and our drinks were always being refilled. As they should be. Coffee was a good diner style brew. Their menu is pretty extensive so it was a bit of a choice overload. But I ended up with the chilaquiles with shrimp. I didn't realize they came covered in cheese though. Probably wouldn't have ordered them if I knew that. Too much cheese! But the dish was pretty tasty. It was a lot of food. Like at least 2 servings, so come hungry! Parking is a bit tricky here. The front lot fills up quickly. And it was a bit confusing where the back lot was. You have to go up a block on a residential street to find it. But that lot had plenty of space. A long time customer, this place is an institution- like the Cheers Bar. Portions are great. The business was sold and service declined. They fired long time employees, short staffed, tables aren't always cleaned off and I was served on a plate with two big chips, along with a mug with rough edges. The waitress said she wouldn't charge me - great customer service- her manager overruled her and said he gave me a 10% discount. He didn't have his employees back. Put her in an awkward spot. This was our first time eating here. We were in town visiting our son and he recommended Foxy's because a local he had met when he moved to the area told him it was his favorite spot. Okay, the food was hot, flavorful, and did not disappoint. The croissant French toast was flaky as you would expect and had just the right amount of egg to bread ratio. It was absolutely delicious. Next, the traditional French toast was also just as delicious but of course the croissant was the favorite. The shrimp Chilaquiles came with a different variety of tortillas. There was green, red, and regular corn tortillas. It was amazing! The staff were excellent and the ambience pleasant. In fact, I had two pleasant conversations with other customers in the restaurant. One was a regular who recommended the hot chocolate and chilaquiles. The other was just a very friendly senior citizen who stopped to exchange pleasantries on her way out. What a cool place! I visited for the first time today, for breakfast, and was immediately charmed by the high-country lodge / European vibe! With it's A-frame construction, exposed heavy timber beams, and rich wood-paneled interior, it warmed my heart right away. I half expected to find a roaring fireplace at each end, or a happy little wood stove. And I had to keep checking out the front window to remind myself I WASN'T in Mammoth, CA, and there WASN'T three feet of snow outside! LOL The service was prompt and friendly, and the food was honestly next level. We both had the Lox Benedict, and it was incredible. Coffee was good; prices are very affordable, and even the bathrooms are cozy! (I don't often comment on a place's restrooms unless they're nasty.) The salad was literally spinach, cucumber, and microwave bacon. The bacon did not have good flavor. There is room of improvement for this salad. Foxy... The Nautical Nonsense is something I didn't quite wish, but it's here at this cabin in the Glendale stand alone restaurant with a variety food on a dish. Stopped in after catching a closing night performance of a theater production, with not too many places open after. My friends I was with had been here once before and like the service, which I did as well! They have toasters on most tables, very classic diner style that you don't see anymore. Lots of wine and nautical themed art and decor mixed with a rustic wood cabin style layout. The food was okay... Though a lot of the veggie dishes were pretty much just regular dishes already on the menu without meat, eggs or dairy. I didn't realize they served breakfast all day, but cool they have an extensive menu for all meals and even dietary restrictions. Parking wasn't an issue, while they don't have an abundance of spots, they do have quite a bit. I'd imagine breakfast times are the busiest, but they do have outdoor patio, indoor (table or booth) as well as limited bar seating. We did want a drink or two especially with all the art, deals on our menu and bottles on display... Ironically the fact that we couldn't be served wine, beer or any type of adult beverage due to their liquor license being expired was wild considering we sat at a table directly near their full wine rack. The restrooms are not to be used if you value your eyes.... O.O Can't believe the C rating, violations, etc... Sad a place with good service has so many issues and that's been around since the mid 60s is struggling this much, they should shut down and get everything in order... Foxy's been around forever and it shows. We had lunch on Wednesday, April 15. We were very disappointed with the restrooms. Husband went to men's restroom and the handle from a urinal was trickling, not flushing, trash was over flowing and the smell was bad, strong urine odor. I went to the women's restroom and same. Looked like the toilets hadn't been wiped and scrubbed in a long while. Smelled like urine too. We notified one of the servers and told us to ask the person behind the register, that if he said anything to him directly, it's like going in one ear and out the other. Foxy's is a nice establishment, it's not a fast food restaurant. We won't be going there again. read more
