I love all the salty reviews for this place, very LA! Lol! This restaurant is right by my brothers place, and we stopped by on our way to visit. I was impressed by the pictures on the menu - I love to see a visual of what I'm ordering! Great vegan options for my brother, too, which I appreciate. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, and a protein scramble for my husband. The sandwich was bomb! Flavorful, not too greasy, and just the right portion! I really liked the fruit that came with it, too. I often say you can judge a breakfast place by the fruit that comes with your meal and this was no exception. None of that soggy cantaloupe here! My Wife & I went to Foxy's Sunday / yesterday afternoon - after church. Our friends, two other married couples, & a single gentleman was with us. We're all Seniors & all the men (4) also happen to be Military Veterans. No discount for either status (Just an FYI). We were a group of 7 total. 3 Married couples wanted separate checks & the gentleman wanted a separate check. We were refused & told we could leave if we didn't like it. "needs to be one check" It was around 1:00 PM. Mgr refused to speak with us. Against better judgement we stayed. We did speak with a different Mgr "Jennifer" when leaving because we went inside. She was professional & courteous considering the situation. We had already paid the bill & were on the way out. A courteous tip was left, despite all of the dishes left on the table until we left. The food was good & service was fair. We didn't feel all that welcome after making a fuss about the single check. All of us have been semi-regular customers in the past. I was at Foxy's a couple of weeks ago with another senior friend & his wife & they let us have seperate checks. I don't plan to go back anytime in the near future & won't recommend them to anyone in the near future. They don't seem to care anyway. We have a small group out every other Sunday or so & never have this problem. We go to the Black Cow in Montrose & the Salt Shaker in Pasadena & it's no problem to pay our separate checks. The Salt Shaker in Pasadena adds on our senior discount without us even asking. I'd say don't go to Foxy's unless you plan on paying with one bill only policy!! read more

I don't typically leave negative reviews but while on a business trip to Glendale, we stopped to eat at this restaurant for lunch. I ordered a Patty Melt which came with a Cesar Salad. One other member of my party also had the Cesar Salad. Shortly after our lunch, both my co-worker and I started having symptoms of food poisoning. My coworker had it rough, but for me, it was bad. Real bad. One of the worst nights of my life bad. Obvious food poisoning. And I was up all night violently vomiting and other not so fun activities. I hadn't eaten prior to going to the restaurant and the fact a coworker also became ill leads me to conclude it was the salad. Probably not washing thoroughly enough. Has to be one of the worst meals I've had in a long time the lox Benedict tasted rancid, the lox were chewy with dark almost black blotches, the Benedict sauce was thicker than nacho cheese probably reheated over and over then added to without changing, my son's steak fajitas omelette was drowned in a brown gravy which was supposed to be a ranchera sauce and was horrible, how do you let food leave the kitchen like this? I asked the employee to call the owner but Maria ( manager ) said I'm the owner and she didn't let the employee to give me owner email or phone number. I really liked the design and comfy look of this place. The first thing we noticed once seated was toasters on the tables, nice touch for sure. We did have a few minute wait as they were busy. The staff were extremely nice and on top of everything. I had the wet chicken burrito. It was a bit on the weird side as it had red and green bell peppers, onions and of course chicken, just seemed it was missing something. It did have beans and rice served with it. My wife had the French Dip and said it lacked flavor, her well done fries were perfect!!! They have a fairly small and tight parking lot. Last Tuesday we went to eat at Foxys because we were in the general area! Ever since Hubert was managing the restaurant, it was running like a well oiled machine! On Tuesday, we found out he is no longer in charge of the restaurant, all the toasters on the tables were gone and the menus were new with higher prices! Of course, this is not his restaurant, he only works there and he obviously has favorite customers and for what ever reason, some that are not his favorites!!! He did not allow the bus boy to do his job, bring us coffee and water, instead he wanted to do it himself! He brought me a pot of hot water that was "cloudy" yuk yuk, I then asked the bus boy for hot water and he brought me clear hot water. I ordered before another 4 person table and to my surprise he served them first! I had to get up and ask for my food and he decided to fInally bring it out! The eggs were cold and he had the nerve to gaslight me and tell me he did not serve them first and the problem were the amount of time to grill tomatoes! What???? Inferior service, bad attitude and high prices! There are other cafes with good management to oversee the workers. Why go there now. I asked them for Hubert"s phone number and they refused. Fine, I called Foxys public number today to talk to the manager and nobody picks up the phone and you cannot leave a message! Unfortunately, this restaurant is not wheelchair accessible, although it states that it is. My family and I called ahead to ask, and they confirmed it was in fact wheelchair accessible. While they do provide ramps to get to the restrooms, the restroom doors and restrooms themselves are not wide enough for a standard wheelchair to fit. So very sad about this place. Before the previous owner retired and sold it (right before COVID) it was awesome in every way, especially the food! We usually went there for breakfast on average once a month. The new owners didn't change the appearance of the place (much to their credit) but the food is horrible now. We've been there 3 times over the years since and today will be our final visit after 3 strikes. Every one of those 3 visits the food was so bad. We used to love the eggs benedict with real Canadian bacon, and the bread you could toast at your table. The new owners got rid of that right away and changed the Canadian bacon into a low quality piece of ham that was inedible. We gave it a second try less than a year later. Same disappointment, different dish. About another year later, today, we thought we'd give it one more try hoping it might be better. It was the worst of all. We ordered 3 scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes to split. How can you blow that? The eggs were so overdone half of it was browned, the bacon looked like it had been cooked the day before it was so dried out and lifeless and the pancakes were rigid and had zero flavor, even when adding butter and syrup. Note that we were starving at the time (!) and we still could barely eat any of it. The nice waiter (btw, the staff were all very nice and that's the only reason I gave this review 2 stars) came over and asked how everything was, and we don't like to complain but we had to. We showed him the eggs and he saw immediately that they were way over cooked and we asked if the bacon had been cooked yesterday. He said no, they deep fry it! We said, they what???? He did offer to bring us new eggs and bacon and he did. This time the scrambled eggs were runny and the bacon was way underdone. We left there still hungry and very very sad that this once amazing place is off our list for good. read more

Came here this morning for my sons birthday breakfast. First off, this place has a good amount of parking in their lot. That was a plus. We were seated quickly by our server and coffee was offered almost immediately. Our server was excellent. The only reason for 4 stars is their portions are not that great. I order the Country Breakfast. Comes with three small Pancakes, two eggs, choice of bacon and sausage. Their prices are affordable. Food was great and served hot. Great for mid sized groups. Food was ready as stated. Large parking lot but it was jam packed. I had to just park on the side so I could pick up my order. Then along the side there is patio seating, which is where we sat. Although yesterday it was rainy, we were protected due to the vinyl curtains. Most of the entrees are Mexican-style. Food was ok... a bit flavorless. lots of choices on their menu. They had all kinds of benedict dishes. I picked the wrong one. Chicken benedict. Chicken was dry. I checked in on Yelp, and received a 10% discount. But, for whatever reason they would not honor it. When I opened up my Yelp app, my previous review draft for this place had 5 stars. I guess I started a review years ago that I never finished. We haven't been here in about 3 or 4 years. We always had a positive experience before, but today was an entirely different story. I ordered the Country Fried Steak and Eggs and my GF got the Machaca. The Country Fried Steak tasted alright, not too bad. It had a nice crispiness to it (my GF thought there was too much breading but I did not mind). But my gripe was with the portion size. The "steak" was literally smaller than the size of my palm. Not my hand, but my palm (hand minus the fingers). Over 60% of my plate was hash browns. Not only was the portion size way too tiny for the $16 as listed on the menu (more on prices later), the country style "gravy" that usually accompanies Country Fried Steak was anything but. It had a weird gelatinous consistency to it with a weird sheen that made it look more like melted cheese rather than a thick gravy! Seriously, check out my photo, you'll see what I mean. I've never seen gravy look like that before! The Machaca plate fared a bit better but the tortilla chips that were served were stale. Now, the kicker. ON THE MENU, the Country Fried Steak is listed as $16 and the Machaca was listed as $14. When we got the check, we were charged $18 and $16 respectively. This is a terrible way to do business! Either let the customer know verbally that prices have changed OR CHANGE YOUR MENU PRICES. Don't let the customer be surprised at the end of the meal (which was sub-par along with sub-par service by the way). Speaking of service, our waitress was pretty inattentive and when I asked for the check, she took forever to come back to come grab payment. So long in fact, that I had to walk up to the counter myself and handed it to another staff member who was more attentive. Also, what happened to all the nice old lady waitresses who actually knew what "service with a smile" meant? Sadly, this will be our last time dining at Foxy's. read more
