Fragrant Jerky is worth the drive. Jerky Heaven! I arrived as soon as they opened (which I found out is a little too early because everything is stilled being grilled and cooked). The sales lady/ cook was very friendly and accommodating with sample requests from me. I was buying multiples and she was patient in separating everything into individual zip pouches and labeled each one accordingly. The black pepper beef was a major favorite but the pork tastes like candy, so good. (I was told that bacon and other options are available towards the afternoon.) For anyone that is paleo this is a great gift idea. read more

On a brisk Tuesday evening here in Los Angeles, I Randomly stumbled across this shop, on my way to get some chicken pho. Walked in, and was greeted immediately. We were offered samples and instantly we were hooked by the spicy bacon and peppered beef. The peppered beef was juicy and well marinated, 9 out of 10. I've been looking for real Malaysian jerky. Finally I found a place that satisfied my craving. Yes, it's pretty expensive and not as good as the jerky you can find in malaysia. But they are better than any jerky meat sold at the grocery store. Malaysian jerky is juicy and moist. I will be back. read more

Omg yesssssssss! This place is the best! I always crave soft tender jerky but the ones I get from stores don't really satisfy the cravings. I usually just pick out the soft ones and throw the rest away. This place is my dream come true. The jerkys are soft, slightly marinated in a sweet sticky way and grilled to perfection. my favorite is the beef! I can taste the smokiness of charcoal which is so wonderful. The last time I came here was in 2015. The jerky is good but a little bit pricey. I'm usually order spicy pork & bacon pork jerky. But this time I was disappointed. The bacon pork jerky was tough as wood. There is no way you can bite it unless you have a teeth as sharp as a knife. By the time I got there every kind of jerky was full on the display. I don't know, maybe she gave me the old jerky on the display. Because the sample she gave me earlier is not tough at all. FYI, I got there around 6.00 pm. I throw away my jerky without eating it. Freshly made with preserves! The bacon jerky is a must!The original is more on the sweet side. But if you like spicy, the spicy bacon jerky is just heaven. The pork jerky is also good. I am not a big fan of their beef jerky, not tender at all. Had better ones in New York China Town. I would have given 5 star. However, this place charges taxes, which makes the bacon jerky over $30 per pound. Try not to get them when they just out of kitchen. It's hard to find good tasting asian pork jerky in the state of Florida. They certainly don't sell them at the Asian market here, so I did a research and found Fragant Jerky that is willing to ship to where I live. I was thrilled! I ordered 1/2 pound original pork and 1/2 pound original beef. It came within 3 days! When I opened the package, I was a little disappointed to find that there were only 2 and 1/2 slices in the bag for both. I guess 1/2 pound isn't much. The taste is definitely spot on. Sweet and tasty! However, in my opinion, I find the jerky a little too thick. It's not like the one I eat in Hong Kong. I did email them and asked if they do thinner ones. They responded right away and said they don't because then the jerky will become too dry. Overall, I like the pork jerky a lot and would order again. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. read more

Discovered this place by incident, and it was a surprised for the new taste of jerky. There are plenty of parking space with a convenience location. + 1 Tried black pepper beef jerky, spicy beef, spicy pork, and bacon jerky. Out of those, I preferred black pepper beef jerky, it was moist and tasted outstanding compare to the remaining, as least didn't have as strong fish sauce smell as others. + 2 Owner are nice and kind with well maintain area. + 1 But no restroom offered to customers. If you are looking for singapore-malay style pork jerky this is the place to go. this is the bakkwa that people enjoy in singapore. the pork jerky taste is different from the taiwanese and chinese varieties. a little savory, sweet, and some varieties are spicy. the price is not cheap (about $25-$27/lb). They sell in 1/4 lb increments. They make the stuff fresh on premises and the best way to enjoy is to get out there and buy it and have it (while fresh and just nicely roasted). They do on-line ordering but that did not taste as good. we have tried the pork varieties (original flavor, tender) and the bacon (spicy). all of them were really good. we liked the tender pork jerky the best as it tasted most similar to the ones in singapore. definitely worth trying. read more

Excellent jerky!! I like everything I sampled. My first choice is spicy bacon, followed by original bacon, then original pork. The pork jerky is more tender than the beef. They're so fresh that they're still warm when I bought them!! They're also the only ones that makes bacon jerky that I'm aware of. We ended up buying over 10 lbs! The lady behind us bought 30 lbs(they ordered ahead of time)! I like the fact that they're not pre-packaged and you can get it by the pound or 1/2 lb or 1/4 lb, then they'll package them to your specification. I can see them grilling jerky in the small kitchen & packing online orders. I think they make it daily. The jerky comes in approximately 4" square and they have a machine to slice it into strips per your preference. Jerky is available via Amazon but the pricing is much better in the store. I'll definitely drop by every time I'm in town!! Overall, it's excellent jerky but it's quite pricey. About $29 lb for the bacon jerky, and approx $24 for all other jerky. It'll keep in the fridge for about 7 days(though I haven't tested this because they were consumed way before the 7 days), 3 months in the freezer. I warm my jerky in the oven at 300 degrees for a few minutes & it's as fresh as I bought them at the store. There's microwave directions on the bag. read more

Service was terrible! Service was so bad that I had to write this review. I tried a sample of the pork jerky and it was good but nothing to rave about. Their prices are also pretty high. I came with a bunch of people and we ordered over the phone ahead of time. When we got there we were still waiting about 30 minutes for the jerky to be ready, which was fine since there was a big group of us. The lady was very nice and we were in line to buy until a group of people came in after us. The guy came out from the kitchen to attend to them taking all the jerky that was freshly made for us! I was furious but didn't speak up until the lady that was helping one of ours stopped helping us to attend to the other group of people! We spoke up and said how rude that was and she said that the other group were here first. They were clearly not there first! We were there for the past 30 minutes... does she think we're idiots?! I just couldn't believe how rude they were. Because of this experience, I will not visit them again. read more

Amazing seasonings and tender pork and beef jerky! I've never tasted anything like it before! I definitely think people should try this place out. You can buy online! It stays preserved pretty well!
