I almost hate to say how great they are for fear the place will become too popular. We've eaten here 3 times, anniversary and 2 milestone birthday's. Every time we were treated like royalty. Friendly staff, attentive, efficient. We had reservations each time. This may be the key to having a great experience. It's not a cheap place to eat, but great value for great food. The steaks were cooked exactly as ordered, sides were terrific (garlic mashed potatoes, grilled brussel sprouts, onion rings and appetizer, grotto misto). Shrimp scampi and Lemon chicken are my personal favorites since I don't eat steak. We always take home leftovers and look forward to their muffins!! The cake is delicious! We came here on a Monday night for our anniversary. We made reservations for 6:30 PM and were seated immediately upon arrival. Steven was our server but I forgot his helpers name. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He asked us if it was our first time dinning there and wished us a happy anniversary. He recommended the summer wind cocktail for me and I loved it. My only complaint is they both kept asking if we were ready to order which made us feel rushed. We normally like to enjoy a few cocktails first. The steak was very tender and flavorful. All of the food was delicious. They brought us out a complementary seven layer cake for our anniversary which was a nice surprise. It was enough to feed 4 people but it was so fresh and good. Just had one of the most outstanding meals in recent memory thanks to the fine people at Frankie's, which is located on the third floor of the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce building. You don't need to be a member of the COC to eat here, you just need to come with a big appetite and the willingness to put down some serious cash. It was all worth it in the end, though, and I'm so glad we came here to celebrate my dear friend's birthday. We had three different people waiting on us, and overall the service was excellent. Everything we ordered came out promptly and correctly, and the servers had excellent attitudes all night. We definitely felt special, as you'd want to feel when enjoying an occasion dinner such as this. We opened up the evening with a seafood tower, and it was to die for! We had the lump crab, shrimp cocktail, Orange roughy ceviche and oysters that usually come with it, and were able to add scallops and tempura battered lobster as well. Every morsel was delicious! After that, our table of four split the famous Tomahawk steak and we STILL had leftovers! It was ginormous - 2.5 lbs, I think! We washed that bad boy down with a bottle of delicious Pinot noir. To top it all off, the restaurant threw in a gorgeous and colossal chocolate cake for my pal's birthday. Dinner was about $450 pre-tip, so ain't none of this cheap. I need to disclose that I came here for a drug rep dinner, so with that being said, the menu is prix fixe, so there were limited options on what I could order. We were sat in a back room with a door, because legally we can't be out in the open with speaking engagements on medical drugs. Frankie's sits on the third floor of a building, so when you pull up, you're not even sure where it is. But there are signs once you enter. Right now, their bathrooms are under renovation or something, so if you needed to use the restroom you had to take the elevator to the second floor which was pretty inconvenient. The staff served out some pretty looking bread, nicely arranged, but just average in taste. I guess that's kind of how I felt about my entire meal. I ordered the caesar salad, and it was pretty standard, and could have used a bit more dressing. I do like the shaved real parmesan on top, but the dressing needed more garlic anchovy punch to it. Dinner, I got the steak, with some side dishes. The sides were corn, haricot verts, and garlic mashed potatoes. The corn was really nothing to rave about, in fact, could have used some more enhancements to heighten the flavor. The haricot verts although cooked nicely, were drowning in butter. The mashed potatoes were average at best. Creamy, but not overly flavorful. I heard the steak was good per the other guests that were there, but I have to admit I didn't try it, but got it for my child since she loves steak. I really wanted to try the creme brulee, but missed out because I had to get home to my sitter. Maybe it was the prix fixe menu, maybe it was the wrong stuff to order. Lobster is amazing! Fried, grilled and in the mac and cheese. The wedge salad is big enough to share (for 2) and was fresh and crisp like it always should be with a creamy delicious blue cheese dressing, and crispy bacon. The crab cake is full of crab meat chunks. Brussel sprouts had a sweetness to them. I didn't love the banana dessert, but the bourbon bread pudding was good and definitely bourbon forward. There's a solid steakhouse located in Duluth Georgia. I happened to go here last minute on a Friday so there weren't reservations available, and they were backed up with seating so we ended up sitting in the bar area which is actually fun! I think on Fridays and Saturdays they have live music, the guy who was playing that night was amazing!! The service from the bartenders is impeccable even though they're super busy. The drinks are definitely amazing as well. We started our night with a Caesar salad, shrimp cocktails and crabcake all of which I loved. The shrimp cocktail and the crabcake were definitely my favorite. We also had complementary bread which was warm and delicious. Additionally, we got the ribeye steak with a side of cabbage and brussels sprouts with some Thai chili sauce. We were not disappointed. For dessert we ended up getting a chocolate cake which is huge and enough for at least three people. We regret getting it because it's so big and heavy but if you love chocolate it's definitely the cake for you it's moist and very chocolatey! Next time I would get some thing different as far as dessert is concerned now because it's not good because it's way too sweet for me. This is not a cheap place. Expect to drop some money here. It's a great place for desserts, groups, celebrations etc. The service is great but you definitely have to make reservations especially for a Friday and Saturday night unless you're OK with sitting at the bar. It was fairly packed for Covid which is disappointing but at the bar people were spaced out which I appreciated. I do recommend going here, the staff does wear masks and they do have a temperature check even though they did not check ours. DISAPPOINTED AGAIN AT FRANKIE'S My husband and I are oenophiles and like to take advantage of "Wine Wednesdays". This is when some restaurants offer 50% off their [sometime special] wine list. There are several venues not too far from where we live that offer this in Gwinnett and Fulton counties. However, last evening, the "corporate manager, Beto, said as Frankie's The Steakhouse, is in Gwinnett County, they are not allowed to offer this special and he suggested we go to their sister restaurant, Pampas, in Fulton County, which by the way, we have dined at three times in the last six months. The food and service [Agnes is our favorite server] at Pampas are superior to Frankie's. We have also dined at H&W, Luci's The Steakhouse, Cattle Shed, and Bottles & Bones so we are not strangers to fine dining Prior to making a reservation at Frankie's, I Googled "wine Wednesday specials near me" and Frankie's DID come up. I showed this to this manager, Beto, who said that because they are in Gwinnett County, they cannot accommodate our request. Someone must have taken this search down last night as Frankie's and Luciano's no longer show up this morning. OH! And Beto is WRONG! There ARE restaurants in Duluth, Sugar Hill, Suwanee and Buford, all located in Gwinnett County, that we frequent that DO have wine specials on Wednesdays. As an example, Uncle Jack's, which is about 5 minutes away from Frankie's does offer Wine Wednesdays where all bottles of wine are 50% off. In addition to being rude, Beto could have cared less if we walked out as the restaurant was packed with diners. In my opinion, as a manager, I would have been apologetic and at least offered something to appease us. Great steak served locally (for me). My family has made it a tradition to celebrate birthdays here for the last couple of years. I always get the bone-in ribeye steak. The rest of the family gets center cut filets. Cooked to the right temperature every time as well as delicious and savory. But that's not the end of the story. The cake we get for our respective birthdays is also a big draw and way too much to eat in one sitting. My family absolutely loves this place. We've been here for many special occasions and date nights. The food and service is top tier. It's so great to have an upscale steakhouse so close to home without having to go into the city. Parking is valet only. You will enter them commerce building and take the elevator. I highly suggest a reservation as the place is usually pretty busy. Dress code is pretty much business casual. I don't believe they allow jeans unless you want to sit at the bar. The food is absolutely amazing and worth every penny. My favorite menu item is the Brussels sprouts. They're great! The bone in rib-eye or tomahawk is a must. The sides are a La carte and big enough to share between 2-3 people. I always follow up my meal with a carajillo, or two... sometimes three lol. They are to die for. And those cakes are absolutely delicious and did I mention HUGE! I will always bring friends here when they visit from out of town and everyone is always so impressed. We wanted to order their off menu seared Tuna appetizer we had ordered our first visit, but they didn't have it this particular evening so we ordered the seafood tower for 3. It was a beautiful presentation and tasted delicious. There was shrimp, crab, oysters and lobster, crackers, Tabasco and some other sauce. All was enjoyed. We then ordered two filet's and a spinalis steak which is the end cap, the most premium part of the ribeye. It wasn't on the menu either, but steakhouses like Frankie's will sometimes have a few. We also ordered their amazing Brussels sprouts, sautéed mushrooms and mashed potatoes. We thoroughly enjoyed our steaks full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I tried a bite of the Spinalis and it was probably the best steak I have ever had! God's honest truth. Best! My sister and I took our mom here for her 60th birthday celebration. Right from the start, it's the attention to details. I made reservations via open table and put a note in there saying what we were celebrating. They immediately greeted us, pulled our chairs out, asked if we would prefer black napkins. When my mom wasn't sure which wine to pick, the waiter brought a few samples for her to taste. We ended up ordering the mushroom carpaccio. My mom and sister seemed to enjoy it. It was okay to be honest. The concept was good but I felt that the Parmesan took over the mushroom flavor which was supposed to be the featured ingredient in the dish and the goat cheese with balsamic reduction glaze was there but needed a little more for the plate. Overall the appetizer was okay. It was also a little awkward to share and eat by itself, maybe if it was in separated pieces and thicker cuts, it would have been better. My mom ordered the ribeye with baked potato and spinach. According to her it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Although the backed potato was large, it was not in an easy to share dish. The sides are family style, so the baked potato should be cut according to the table size or perhaps have it in a casserole dish, with the skin separated and the potatoes fluffed for easy sharing. Still tasty though My sister ordered the veal Parmesan. It was very good and flavorful for the portion size. It was huge and definitely a dish 4 people could share. The kitchen was also nice enough to accommodate her off the menu request of just pasta noodles. They were served and seasoned perfectly. I ordered the 8oz filet medium rare with bernaise said The steak was a beautiful cut, cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I also ordered the Parmesan truffle fries and they were really good. Pro tip, tip them in the bernaise sauce, delicious. After dinner, the staff surprised my mom with a beautiful piece of their famous chocolate cake that's a good size for 6-8 people to share so we were able to bring some home. The waiter was nice to relight the candle a few times for photos. Only thing the staff didn't do is sing happy birthday but we sang of course. Maybe just something to think about for the future to add to the experience. However, again attention to detail. The staff brought our leftovers in nice custom bags and boxed the cake up to. My wife and I really enjoyed everything about Frankie's. From the moment we arrived (25 mins before our reservation) till we left it was exceptional. We were greeted by a wonderful hostess who asked if we wanted to be seated then or at our appointed time, we opted to have a cocktail at the bar which had seating arranged for social distancing. Frankie's is a hidden, upscale gem and if I could afford it, I'd eat there every week just to work through the menu of exquisite dishes. My husband made this reservation for our anniversary and it was an exceptional choice. For any special occasion, this restaurant is a must. The service is impeccable and from the moment that you arrive they treat you like royalty. We started with a dirty gin martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and an order of prime beef carpaccio. Served paper thin with shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano, a nest of Arugula, a light garlic Aioli and drizzle of Truffle Oil, the dish was perfectly balanced and a the perfect start to our meal. My husband ordered the Scottish salmon filet which was served with micro greens and a tomato-garlic Beurre Blanc sauce. Note that side dishes are an extra expense and ordered a la carte. He ordered the garlic mashed potatoes which arrived creamy and adorned with minced roasted garlic cloves. I took our waiter's advice and ordered something "off menu", the Ribeye cap. I later learned that they only had 10 of them for the night and that this cut is known for its exceptional tenderness and perfect marbling. It is the most prized cut of meat and it is by far the best that I have ever had. He also suggested we try the flash fried Brussel sprouts and cauliflower claiming they would be "the best we'd ever had". They were served with a lightly drizzled Asian soy glaze and far exceeded my expectations. Score #2 for our waiter. We each could not finish our meals (that may have been the fault of the tasty carpaccio) so the waiter boxed them up for us in cute cardboard containers and delivered them in a "Frankie's" reusable, cloth takeout bag. A nice touch! And just when we thought the experience had come to an end, our waiter brought out an enormous block of multi layered chocolate cake for dessert. It was sweet and rich and sent the meal over the top. I must point out that our waiter was witty and very knowledgeable. He anticipated our every need and could answer all of my questions about ingredients and cooking techniques. In fact, he was more of a meal guide, walking us through a great culinary experience. I left Frankie's completely sated and slightly tipsy with the entire experience. I can't wait to go again! Things to note: Use Open Table or call ahead for a reservation or you may not get in. I attended a private birthday party at Frankie's Steakhouse last night and everything was impeccable. The wait staff was very professional and attentive. I give a very special tip of the hat to my waiter, Patrick. The manager, Bradley, made sure everyone was taken care of and had everything they needed. My meal consisted of the filet, brussel sprouts and cauliflower, mashed potatoes and the most delicious chocolate cake. Truly the food couldn't have been better. This was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Our private room was lovely however, I wanted to see what the main restaurant looked like, so I stuck my head in the main dining room. While making reservations I asked the host if it was ok for my 13 year old to come in wearing tennis shoes and shorts with a polo shirt she stated "I'm sure it will be fine " I must add the dress code is business casual but he's 13 and as you can see by this picture he was well presented. When we got there on time there was a slight wait no problem but I noticed that the 3 host were huddled up together whispering. A few minutes later one came over to tell me that my son's tennis shoes were fine but he can't wear shorts in the restaurant. I stated to the host that I spoke with someone when I was making the reservations and she told me that it was fine for him to come in wearing what he was wearing she started to act confused and asked who did I speak with? I don't remember who I spoke with, but they were three there and it was within an hour that I spoke with someone so one of them told me that it was fine. I decided not to cause a commotion and I told them that I would leave my son and I while we were in the elevator going down to the parking lot I noticed another gentleman that did not look like my son and I and his party and this gentleman was wearing shorts. I've heard so much about this place and it was amazing from start to finish. When you walk in to the left is a full service bar w/live music featuring a pianist. Ample seating area while you wait for your table. For myself I ordered the Frankie's Bellini not featured but WHOA. The atmosphere is amazing and the wait staff was very on hand,friendly and efficient. No complaints what so ever on the food and even the same order to go for lunch the next day. Excellent service! Great valet guys. The food is amazing too. It's a spacious place great for family or romance. The Dover sole and banana cream pie will make you move to GA.
