Was trying to have breakfast at Republique but it was closed due to thanksgiving. Saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Not sure why this place has 4 1/2 stars on Yelp. Service is mediocre at best. They drop off the food and never go back to ask if you need anything else. The food was average at best. I had an turkey bacon with mushroom omelette. I was browsing Yelp for a place to grab lunch in Hollywood and came across Fratelli's. I came by with my friend on a Friday afternoon at around 2pm. We were greeted by, who I presume, is the owner, who gave us the menus and told us to order at the counter when we were ready. The made-in-house veggie burger caught my eye, so I went with that, and my friend ordered a chicken sandwich. We had a seat and our food came out in no time. The veggie burger was good, packed with lots of vegetables and even had a hint of curry. Unfortunately, the flavor was a bit lacking. The side of french fries were the star of the meal. My friend was also a bit unimpressed with her food. The bread was super hard, and the sandwich was "something she could easily make at home." But nonetheless, the service we received was impeccable and the place itself is very cute - despite our mediocre lunches. We came here on a Saturday afternoon. Honestly, I don't remember being so unimpressed with a brunch spot for a long time. The staff was un-spirited, the environment lacked energy and the service was a bit slow. However, it is not the service and environment that missed the most, it was the food. The chicken avocado panini was carelessly crafted. The chicken was dismal and lacked quality and flavor. It was rubbery and paper thin. The side salad had no character. They threw a slice of tomato on top of lettuce. I don't come to a restaurant to prepare my own food and I'm not going to stuff a giant tomato slice in my mouth. We also got a Tuna panini. The Tuna had no creativity to it or flavor. The sandwich fell apart as soon as it was picked up. They only offer a side of house potatoes or salad with the sandwich. Why not fries? Seriously? Just tried this place for the first time today. I think we have ordered previously on postmates but hard to judge the food based on a delivery. We checked in through yelp waitlist and waited about 15-20 min maybe once we got there. If you put yourself on the waitlist make sure you can get there within 5 minutes after they text to get checked in fyi. Once we were seated, you go get in a line inside to order your food. So a little bit of a line (maybe 4 parties ahead of me who were ordering their food) inside the restaurant. You order, prepay, and then take your number to your seat. We got the chilaquiles, bacon hash, and croissant french toast as well three fresh juices. The french toast was great but a bit cold(?) and didn't taste right off the griddle was my only complaint. If it was hot off the pan I think it would have been much tastier. They are also quite dense just in case you wanted something as light as pancakes. The chilaquiles were okay as well as the bacon hash. Probably would not order those two again however. Everything for some reason tasted a bit lukewarm and not as fresh? I would try the oj next time and avoid the mixed juices as well. Street parking can be tough but not impossible! I would give this place 3.5 stars but no half stars allowed on yelp! read more

But here it goes,...I ordered the Kale Cesar salad with filet mignon and a fried chicken wrap. I asked again about the Cesar salad and was told it was "popular"....nothing special and the filet mignon was under seasoned. The wrap,...was better but again nothing that would ever make me come back...ever!....my 6 year old son even had something to say and he has never complained about where we eat....and I'm quoting him, "we should have gone to Shake Shack"! Another plate ordered was the steak omelette. And again the waiter said,...huge portion and very filling!...complete opposite,..small omelet with steak nothing great. I asked about the michelada,..was told again that it was good....restaurants need to understand that a michelada is not made with Bloody Mary mix. The michelada was not good....and the Craft beer is very limited!!... Ohhhh, we used the yelp wait list which stated 45 min,...we were about 20min away and it sat us within 5 min. Which then gave up our seating after 5 min. The person seating us wanted to relist us although, he new there was an issue with Yelp. We explained and strongly encouraged this wasn't our fault and an issue they need to fix if they know it exist...we were seated right away,..but we put up a gentle fight... Ate there this AM with my sons family. The manager kindly walked me through how to scan the menu on my phone, gave me the 911 on ordering and immediately seated me at a table for 5 (this was 9:15 AM Sunday). Family arrived and we placed orders at the register inside (all covid protocols observed) and within 5 minutes our drinks served and at about 22 minutes breakfast was on the table and we were happily munching on a delicious meal which was a real treat in the age of covid.
