Tender and juicy with good quality meat cut very finely and perfectly crisped. Pollo - Very good. Tender and juicy with good marinade. Carnitas - Good. Dry without much flavor. Barbacoa - Ok. Dry without much flavor. Chips and salsa - Ok. Chips were not fresh, nor warm. Didn't receive any more or different salsa than what I got with my tacos. The things that would make this five stars for me are fresh homemade tortillas and a proper salsa bar. Went on Yelp for lunch spots in Santa Rosa. So glad I found this spot! Probably the best Mexican food I've had since moving to the Bay Area half a year ago. I was initially drawn to the tacos, but everything here was tasty and fresh! The difference is in the flour tortilla - they're so light and fluffy so the flavor of the meat and sauce really comes through. Loved their al pastor tacos. Salsa verde was a perfect pairing. My husband was thrilled with his steak burrito. My in-laws got the chicken tacos with guac and chicken quesadilla. The quesadilla was crunchy and saucy, not the usual greasy quesadillas we'd get at other places. My father-in-law praised this being the best Mexican food he's had in the Bay! Bold ass statement since he's been here for a very long time. Service was excellent too. No one was dining here so we sat at the only table available, which is placed outside. Came in for a couple of tacos and a burrito and was pleasantly surprised. I am a big fan of al pastor and theirs was on point. The food was resonably priced. The tacos are on the smaller side but that won't stop me from coming back for their al pastor. read more

This is thee spot for veggie tacos! The customer service is great too. The folks working the counter are always super friendly. Service is fast and the place is really clean. Prices are reasonable. They get their produce from neighboring Imwalle's and the food always tastes fresh. I love the tacos so much I haven't tried anything else on the menu. My husband has had the veggie burrito and he loved it. It's a good size and not gigantic. The tacos are on the small side, so order multiple. They load them up with beans, rice and pico de gallo. Our first time here will be our last. Such a disappointment. We hate leaving negative reviews for restaurants because people work hard and things fluctuate in restaurant settings. However, we paid over $120 through Doordash for 3 people to eat, and we were still hungry after. We received the tiniest items ever! We even paid extra in every item for extra meat. How much meat comes in a standard portion? The burritos looked like long thin rollups. So little in them! We went out of our way to take a photo of the taco with a measuring tape to prove how teeny tiny it was! The title of the restaurant has the word 'taco' in it! You know those little children's tea sets? They are all in tiny little form, but resemble real-sized items. That is how this order was! All Mexican food, but, well... in tiny form! See the photo for proof. They also forgot to give any of the guacamole or salsa or sour cream, etc. This was a lot of money and we had high hopes. What a let down. How in the world do they have so many positive reviews? Perhaps they are mostly older reviews? Not sure. Maybe this place was once good. Which actually makes me really sad to think. Tonight I tried a vegetarian sopa! I've had sopas before, usually they're hard unchewable thick disks. This was house made soft, delicious, crispy, thick & it was amazing! As you chew into the sopa, which is soft with a bit of crisp, you can taste the corn made sopa. So good! My husband is not a vegetarian & he tried it, he loved it. He had the Al Pastor Tacos which were incredibly great tasting. You can get non-vegetarian sopas too! You'll love it! read more

We enjoyed splitting a torpedo burrito. As reviewed, the el pastor was excellent. The young woman at the counter was wonderful. Lots of good salsa but... the website is awful, doesn't even show the burrito and any source will show that the ingredients are cut off so you have to call. A little expensive for a strip mall taqueria that's hard to find but the quality is there and also that young woman was super nice. Would go back! read more

Been meaning to try this place since they opened. Finally was feeling adventurous and looking to try somewhere other than my usual go to spots. Stopped in to order the food to go. All together we ordered a couple veggie tacos and a veggie wet-rito for me and al pastor tacos and a torpedo burrito. The people at the counter were really nice, the food was quick, only waited like 10 mins. The only reason I'm giving it 3.5 stars is because it really didn't blow either of us away. It's a tough market out there with sooooo many other taquerias and taco trucks in Santa Rosa, it takes a lot to truly stand out. As a vegetarian who just loves a classic super burrito with no meat, it's hard to stand out. The tacos were fairy plain, as for the wet-rito, again it was mostly just rice and beans inside. The sauce on top was probably the best part. I'm not looking to count on the salsa to make the burrito though. Again, it wasn't awful, just nothing special. As for my dudes food, he also felt the same about his tacos and burrito. read more

Great spot for tacos in the Santa Rosa area. Happened to be driving back home and craved some tacos...Freakin Tacos showed up and gave it a whirl. Ordered 5 tacos and a sope. Exactly what I wanted. Simple, Mexican food with good flavors and no frills. Called ahead for our order and the food was ready early. Friendly peeps inside. Parking lot up front. This unassuming little restaurant has great food. We ordered asade tacos and carnitas burritos, and each were the best we've had in years. All the ingredients were fresh, the meat was cooked perfectly, and the flavor of everything was excellent. And the items weren't just thrown together, as is so often the case. The Ingredients were placed evenly and carefully, making every bite a full flavor experience. In addition, the people working in the restaurant are helpful, friendly and very accommodating. A really lovely little place with authentic and delicious Mexican food. We've ordered again today, after less than a week, because we keep thinking about how good the food was. While we were chewing these tacos I was saying to Bambie that the 3 tacos I ordered were barely 3 star worthy. Writing this 30 minutes after swallowing them, in retrospect, the tacos really were just mediocre 2 star items. Compared to the $1.50 tacos at the Delicias Elenita & El Roy trucks on Sebastopol road these Freakin' Tacos don't even rate. Tacos here; dried out carnitas, the el pastor reeked of cheap bottled Texas style sticky sweet bbq sauce, the over cooked chicken taco was also too dry. The green hot sauce on chicken obliterated any other flavor nuances. To add insult to injury the store has no inside seating. Two terrible patio tables outside the front window with the worlds' most uncomfortable chairs. Parking lot smelled of sour human vomit on an early Saturday afternoon. I am really surprised by all the 4 and 5 star reviews, as Freaking Tacos was a serious let down to me. Yes the tacos are cheap ($1.50 each) for a small size "street taco". That is not the problem. The chicken in my taco was extremely dried out and was drenched in a very spicy sauce that completely overwhelmed any other flavor of the taco. Hubby's carnitas taco was also extremely dried out. The only seating is on the sidewalk adjacent to a very dirty parking lot. Not for me, won't be going back. read more

We were eating there having soda and tacos and when asked to use restroom, we were told no customer restroom, asked us to go check the restaurant next door to ask if we can use the restroom there. That just makes no sense paying here for food and expect customers to walk to next door restaurant, to ask for restroom , she even said sometimes depending on who is there they will let u use restroom lol so obsurd. read more

Ordered 3 sopas and a burrito. I got one tiny container of red sauce and one tiny container of green sauce. No chips. I called and they said I needed to go to the extras part of the menu. When did salsa become an extra in an order from a Mexican restaurant? Put the food in the refrigerator til the next day so I could get some salsa. The whole point of the delivery is to eat hot food. So in summary, bad food experience, bad customer service experience. There's 400 Mexican restaurants in this county. read more

Limited seating but it didn't matter because I got these to go. Ordered 2 tacos al pastor to go. They are pretty tiny, like street tacos. There are 2 corn tortillas per taco so they don't fall apart. Very tasty, but next time, I'll have to order 5. read more
