My favorite restaurant on St Simons Island for 30 years. Never had a disappointing meal and service is top notch. I always take friends and any visiting family

Megan and Brandon were great host at the bar. Warm atmosphere. The manager, Steven was wonderful to talk to. Food was amazing and we got a dessert to take home.

Was in the area for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend and not thinking about it being Valentine's Day stopped in and they were booked/reservation only. So that night I called back and made a reservation for the next night. We were so excited. Honey ordered a 8oz filet and I ordered a 6oz filet with shrimp and grits with hush puppies. Salad came with lettuce, carrots, croutons, cheese, one onion and one cucumber lol. Our dinner came and my steak was not a filet it was a sirloin and was way bigger that by boyfriends steak. The waiter took it back to get me a filet. She brought me another sirloin. I thought I'd try it. One bite and bit in to a bone. I almost threw up. The waitress was very nice and took it away. She came back ten minutes later and said she will take it off the bill. I did eat my shrimp and grits which were good. But the hush puppies were still batter in the middle. Yuck. At this point I just was so disappointed I wanted to get out of there. Btw my boyfriend's filet was amazing. No manager ever even came to talk to me. Such a shame. The place definitely needs some dusting and cleaning too. Not to mention that was some slimy stuff on the rim of his beer mug. Good thing he drank out of the bottle. Just say this place is not worth a $40 steak. Please teach your cooks about cuts of meat. The staff was very friendly though.

I had the shrimp platter with Georgia shrimp, hush puppies and baked potato. I got the shrimp fried and they were tasty. The sweet tea was good as well. We had onion rings to share and they were also good.

This is what the walls look like they have cool story behind them.

The food and service were great! This was my first visit but surely not my last. The interior was from repurposed wood from the Florida swamps.

The salmon special is so delicious. I'm so glad I tried this tonight.

Everything was excellent. I have enjoyed eating here since the early 1980's. The ambience is always great, the food fresh and delicious and the service is always fast and like family.

I hate to see them go. A Saint Simons tradition. Good wishes to all. The fried oysters were the best on SSI.

The seating was plush and comfortable and the tables are spaced far enough apart that you enjoy your own conversation without hearing everyone else's at the same time- a big plus in my book. Our server, Cameron, took the best care of us, answering questions and making suggestions that ensured everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. They offer a happy hour for cocktails and small plates even on Saturday which we all took advantage of! Between the group we sampled a large portion of the menu and the only thing we didn't LOVE was the steak Kushiyaki (skewered grilled meat). The steak was too tough and smoky for our tastes, but every other dish and drink we would absolutely recommend! Some standouts were the Szechuan noodles, the salmon and Hamachi crudo, the tuna tartare and surprisingly? The burger and fries! I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

My wife started with a glass of wine and I had an old-fashioned. The wine was a Zwiegelt and a decent pour which was nice and dry. I enjoyed the old-fashioned which was nicely presented but on regular cubes. We ordered a number of items off the HH menu, including the shaved Brussels sprouts salad, black bean tlacoyos, a short rib torta, and the Dorothy burger and fries. The torta was tasty but small. I'd pass on the tlacoyos but it was fine. We also ordered a fresh salmon belly off the raw bar menu which was my favorite and very tasty and would definitely order again. This was a nice experience and would try again. I'd rate at a 4.4 if Yelp scoring allowed it. Check it out.

Stellar cocktails, friendly service, great views, modern design aesthetic, and incredible food. My only gripe is that they do not take reservations, though even on a Friday night, I've been able to get seated within 20-30 minutes, and you can always grab a drink from the bar and hang out on the lawn while you wait. This most recent visit, I started with the seafood chowder, one of my favorite soups on the island. Creamy, hearty, with plenty of fish, shrimp, crab, and potatoes. Shared a crabcake with my girlfriend--another solid choice, with plenty of crab, not too heavy on the filling, and with a lovely remoulade. For mains, we both had the grilled redfish, a baked potato for me, and mixed veggies for her. Perfectly cooked pieces of fish with a nice crust on the outside while still being moist and tender. Dessert this time was the chocolate pie, which was quite nice, not being too heavy nor excessively sweet. Did I mention the cocktails? I'm a big fan of the smokey mango Fiddlerita (a mezcal take on the classic marg), and the saladito a close second (again, mezcal, but with a little honey and cayenne). The girlfriend enjoys the basil smash (hold the simple syrup, please). Previously, we've tried the artichoke dip, which is also fantastic, shrimp and grits (solid, but Reid's does it better), blackened tripletail over creamy leek sauce (a special, and special indeed), and the key lime pie (excellent). You really can't go wrong here.

We arrived for an early dinner and we're greeted by the hostess and bartender. Everyone was very welcoming and they offered us seating anywhere in the bar area. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were offered seating in the dining room. Once we were seated, we ordered wine and the Apple, Pecan, and goat cheese salad (split in two plates). The server brought us both a very nice portion and we thoroughly enjoyed the salad as it was fresh and very tasty. My wife ordered the Shrimp and Grits which they are known for as being notable and I ordered the Seafood Pot Pie. The shrimp and grits were excellent with a heap of blackened shrimp over a flavorful Gouda course grits. The shrimp were cooked just right. The seafood pot pie had the blue crab bisque as the base and loaded with shrimp, white fish, salmon, and small scallops. It was topped with a puffed pastry square. The pot pie was also an excellent dish that I would definitely recommend. Next time I may come back for the crab bisque as an appetizer. This is a very nice place, with great atmosphere, and very friendly service. I would give it a 5.0 and recommend you try it.
