The French Valley Cafe is located inside the Murrieta airport. It's was crowded when we arrived on a Sunday for brunch. The servers were kind and checked on us throughout our stay. Ordered the chicken strips, kid's waffles and the blt croissant. The fries that came with the blt and chicken strips were dry and seemed old. They also forgot to bring us silverware and we had to ask twice for it. They did have tvs around the cafe for sports viewing, that was a plus. read more

If you are in the area, you must come here and try their offerings. I had their corned beef hash, and I loved it. It was perfectly seasoned and paired well with my toast, eggs, and hashbrown, and they also served unlimited coffee. The service was excellent. My mother-in-law's ham was a bit too overcooked, and it was tough for her to eat. They were nice enough to replace her entire plate even after breakfast. The restaurant is at the airport, and you'll enjoy the view of different planes. Plenty of parking spaces, and the restaurant is clean. I will come back when I am in the area. read more

Also I got toast with my country fried steak and didn't get any jam along with it. But I saw the waitress giving the jam to other people. Food - I got the country fried steak and the deep fried french toast. The country fried steak isn't different from any other breakfast joint or diner. Basic all around. The saving grace of this whole experience was the deep fried french toast. Literally nostalgia in a bite. Pretty damn close to funnel cake! Crispy on the outside with a really airy inside. Okay- so this place was highly recommended by a friend and I don't know why. My husband ordered omelette and I ahd the breakfast sandwich- both were very salty. Did the cook poured the whole container on my egg? Cause it was really salty and mind you, I like salty food but that was Wayyy salty for anyone. My husband's omelette looked like a thick pie- very unappetizing to the eyes. Service was so-so, our server was very short with us. We have been going to French Valley Cafe occasionally for about ten years. The food has always been great. Recently my husband retired early so we are living off one income as he is too young to collect SS or use our retirement investments. But since the financial changes we have gone more often because it is so much more affordable than other restaurants in the area. Which we really appreciate. Their soups are SO GOOD. The waitresses are very nice. And the view is unique. Today we sat on the patio. The fans and misters were so nice. I had the vegetable beef soup, it was so good! The home made wholesomeness adds so much credit to the quality the owner and staff put on their dishes. My husband had the tuna melt. He said it was really good. If I could change anything, I would switch their mayo to Best Foods. Because French Valley Cafe uses another brand that tastes like miracle whip. And MW is horrible, so I avoid all of the menu items that come with mayo. If they switch to a better quality mayo I will order more menu items and update my review to five stars for sure! read more

It is a very small cafe attached to French Valley Airport. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. While it took a while to get my food. I was enjoying watching the planes take off and land plus it's also a flight school so it's very interesting to observe. The food is definitely excellent. read more

What a hidden gem. Our son recently took an interest in planes so we came to the airfield and found the cafe by chance. Talk about a view. There is a bar inside and several table along windows next to the field. There is also an outside patio that is right next to the field. Great views. We took our son to the outdoor patio and he had a blast eating and watching planes taxi/take off. The cafe' has is actually the cheapest meal I've had in a restaurant in awhile and quality was very good. Service was good. I wonder if they have Cholula or something similar? My hubby enjoyed his eggs, bacon (crispy) and toast. He said the bacon was super good. This seems like the type of place that would be breakfast/lunch only, so we were surprised to find that they are open for dinner. On Fridays, they have prime rib. Came her for MOTHERS DAY. Terrible experience. Server, Nyssa spilled a WHOLE container of syrup all over me (arm, leg, clothes) and dripping all over the seat from my arm to drench the side of me and she took forever to come back to clean and offered me a USED wet rag and sanitary wipes....... And the restroom was out of service so there are only outdoor facilities aka porta potties.... Came back and hardly offered any assistance or apologize. Didn't make ANY effort to reconcile the situation ESP on Mother's Day! Then almost slipped on the syrup that dripped on the floor on the way out because she didn't clean it. This restaurant is at a cool spot where you can see planes take off. It was somewhat busy on Saturday morning. We waited about 15 minutes to get seated and then 30 minutes for our food. The menu was limited and it wasn't anything unique; some Denny's style options. Our food itself was good/fresh and fairly priced. Unfortunately, our waitress hardly checked in on us and forgot to bring back things we asked for (hot sauce and water). However, she was friendly, as well as all the other employees there. Breakfast is served until 1:00 PM every day. The lunch menu is somewhat limited but reasonably priced. The burgers are outstanding. Overall, a great place to eat. Has a "home town" feel to it, a lot of regulars visit daily. There is a bar area as well, equipped with TV's. The cafe cannot be seen from the main road, as it is located on the airport property. I said someone will notice us ..it's a small business and it wasn't busy..the hostess asked us to wait in the lobby and she asked my name..We wait and wait and wait.. and finally we were called in .my grandson and I were seated in a corner next to the emergency door facing the airstrip I was so nervous about sitting there because I have my 4 yr old grandson looking outside the door.. Been here a few times and loved it.... went on Dunday and it was terrible. Service was not existing. Got sat quick. Took 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order, another 10 for drinks and get our order taken. Food was meh.... we were a party of 5 and all food was just ok. Finally got our check about 15 minutes after eating then waited 15 minutes server never came back went to the bat to see if they could run the card and the bartender was rude and said no I had to wait for my server. It's fun! However, there is more to having a restaurant then ambiance. You have to have service, food, cleanliness and this lacks in all of those. Service is sub par, which is a bummer cause they could do mega business here. Food is average diner style food. Nothing fancy. Appears to be a lot of ore cooked Sysco orders if you ask me. But the cleanliness is off the chain horrible. Add in the waitress handed my child a spoon with his thumb on the spoon part. Like her thumb in the spoon. Walking in past the glass double doors, I felt as though I should have had a pilot suit, a pair of aviator shades, pomade slicked hair, and a handlebar mustache. Ranging from soups, seafood, sandwiches and burgers, I was so hungry I had a hard time choosing with so many great options. Ultimately I settled on french onion soup + the Kamikaze burger with house chips. As I was flying into the airport, thinking about French Valley, I couldn't help but think of french onion soup. As if they knew exactly what I wanted, it was the first thing I saw on the menu. With tasty not overly salty soup, topped with melted torched provolone cheese and tender croutons and onions, I was delighted. The burger was tasty, and seemed chargrilled with a great crust but still left with juicy perfection. The bun was excellent, with bounce from each press and not falling flat. The portion size was also very large and to my great satisfaction. The house chips were my favorite part, made with love in each crunch. read more
