    Happy hour menu, 5/27/2025

Went here for a work team building during their Happy Hour, which is during weekdays 2 pm -5 pm. The restaurant was empty when we were here due to it being middle of the day during a Tuesday. I enjoyed all the appetizers we got from the HH menu and there was a good variety. I liked the knots, the wings and the fried ravioli. Great food for cheap and it fed all of us (6 of us). Service was great as well. Our waitress checked up on us a few times and was not overbearing. All our needs were met with a smile. The restaurant itself has lots of seating and we never felt rushed. They also have a bar area and seating with TVs for watching games. There are booths and tables and everything felt nice. Lots of lighting as well. Parking is street metered parking unless you want to park at City Hall Garage or the Library Garage. Overall, we left satisfied and will be back.

Frends Brewhouse has been a favorite among me and my coworkers for lunch, especially for their lunch deals! I normally order pizza, but this time, I decided to order the Spaghetti lunch special, which was just $11! WHAT A STEAL! The portion size was huge and came with 2 garlic cheesy breads as well which were delicious. Their service is always great. Even when they are packed, especially during lunch rush, the food comes out decently fast. I will definitely be returning and honestly probably ordering the spaghetti again!

Philly sandwich with steak and fries

At first I thought this was a Pete's pizza because the sign looked similar but this restaurant has a much more extensive menu. It is located downtown kitty corner from Caesar Chavez park. You order and pay at the counter and food comes to you at your table. I ordered the Philly Cheese with steak. The meat was very tender and is filet mignon per the menu. The portions are generous and I could have easily shared my meal with someone as I was here for lunch and it came with a side...I chose fries. Fries were perfect, hot and crispy on the outside and well-seasoned. I didn't even need ketchup. The sandwich was also good and included bacon, which I am not used to in a Philly sandwich. I would have been okay without the bacon. Meat was tender. There was too much bread...it was too thick/dense. I ended taking the top off. Otherwise taste was good.

The lunch options were extremely limited so unless you want the 5 things they offer for lunch this place is a bit much. The burger was a 4/10 and the pasta was too saucy and needed a thicker sauce to cling to the noodle. The cheese bread was good. Services was not friendly but wasn't unfriendly/bad. Very lackluster overall.

I love what they have done with the place. The vibe is different from Pete's. The pizza is sooooo good. Great Lunch Specials. And I can get what I want and not share lol.

Clam Chowder Soup in plastic to go container

I stopped in after checking out the downtown bodegas and food trucks, and honestly, I regret it. I wanted to try the tandoori chicken pizza since it's unique, but the hostess dismissed it and pushed the chicken and garlic pizza instead. That immediately turned me off. I settled for the clam chowder after she hyped it up, but it was served in a flimsy plastic to-go container. Who serves boiling hot soup in plastic? Not only does it ruin the experience, it makes you question how seriously they take food quality. On top of that, there was a Blue Lives Matter flag hanging inside. Between the lackluster food service, the bad judgment with packaging, and the off-putting atmosphere, I won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend this spot to anyone.

WHO MADE THIS FREAKING SANDWICH! PETE DID?!? WELL I OUGHTA... THANK THEM!!! I Eat Pete's Neat Treats! What is blud waffling on about??? First time here in Sacramento, and the first place that caught my eye? Pete's! I had the hot pastrami sandwich. It was good but not hot but it was good. The sandwich was a pretty good size, I was content but not super full from it. The fries were also pretty good, I loved the texture of them. Love the cute little Christmas tree near the entrance as well! The restaurants that have someone's name in them are always S tier heh. So who's Pete? Pete the Cat I assume??? Thanks for the good food Pete the Cat! (I included a picture of me and Pete digging in the sandwich)

Food was delicious. Seemed a bit short staffed but the service was not slow. Location is not ideal but the restaurant itself felt clean. Many food choices. Steak and spicy fettuccine were excellent.

I was in the mood for pizza and Pete's is close by and still open! Called in for a pick up order and was told the order would be 20mins. I arrived exactly in 20mins and everything was ready to go. The dining area looked clean and the vibe were perfect for a Sacramento pizza joint. Sacramento kings flags hung in the bar area. Pizza & wings were hot, fresh and delicious. I ordered the Creamy Garlic & Chicken Pizza: Creamy garlic sauce, tender chicken breast, mushrooms, tomatoes, red onions, green onions, and fresh Italian herbs. This was super cheesy, lots of quality ingredients and worth the price. Small 10inch pizza perfect for 2people, 6 slices $16 I was impressed with the perfectly cooked wings, they were really good. The Spicy & Sweet rub was flavorful. They also give you choice of dipping sauces. 8 piece wing $14 Bottled soda $3.50 each The employee at the register was very helpful and energetic. I will be back.

Came here as part of a party. The restaurant did a great job of setting up the tables and having the food prepared on time. The pizzas were good & so was the appetizer platter. I'd love to give this place a higher rating but when the waitress came by to give our drinks...I was missed. So I waited a bit to see if she would come back around, but she didn't. So I approached her as she happened to be at the drink area, and I asked her for a water. She replied "yea we will bring it to you". I'm not sure why she didn't just give me one while I was there, she was right in front of the water and soda fountain. I returned back to my seat & waited. But she never came around. At this point, I started eating and needed water. So I went back and asked another staff member who was standing next to the drinking fountain & he gave me water immediately. I had to knock down points for the lady's lack of customer service & follow up.

We came here on Saturday for a quick bite and met up with some friends. 100+ degree weather they didn't have ac on it was burning hot in there. They did have hh when the nba game was on so that was nice. We ordered buffalo wings, nachos and drinks. The nachos. Horrible sad basic needs help. It looked like my 10 year old made it. I could only imagine if we didn't add chicken in it. Service was nice and quick then slowed down drastically after 20 mins our waitress went missing and we had to grab another guy. Ordered a second round of drinks and 2 were missing... it took so long to get out we decided to just grab our check and spend money elsewhere. Mind you it wasn't busy. For sure lacking service. Won't be back

Wow! We were looking for a bite and a beer and saw Pete's was nearby and had decent reviews. We walked up, and at first, I was a little unsure. It seemed like kinda a strip mall place, pretty plan, and all. But, we gave it a go anyway and were very happy we did. We sat a high top near the bar. There were plenty of TVs all around with sporting events on. Service was absolutely perfect, and our waiter checked on us and others nearby. They have a full bar and about a dozen or so of excellent beers on tap. I started with a local IPA and then switched over to a very nice pils for my second one. We ordered the Pete's garlic pizza and it was amazing! Totally delicious, we devoured the entire thing. First looks can be deceiving, Pete's is a great place!

It actually worked out perfect for us. It gave us space to sit, relax, and have a good conversation without feeling cramped. We ordered a couple of colorful drinks that were nicely balanced and flavorful, not too overpowering, and easy to enjoy. The music was hip-hop which is right up my alley, so the vibe was definitely on point. What really stood out was the atmosphere. I've never been in a bar quite like this where jellyfish were hanging from the ceiling, and a whole underwater theme. I was told a mermaid appears over the bar at certain times, but sadly, I didn't get to see her this visit. Overall, it was a great spot to end the night after the movie. The security guards we're blatantly discriminating against my friend for no good reason. Also, security apparently accepts bribes at the front door to let people in, so much for safety. The drinks were in my opinion overpriced and didn't taste good. Maybe I'm biased because my whole experience here put a complete sour taste in my mouth. Then, to top it all off my friends and I were being harassed by two patrons who had clearly been overserved the entire time we were there. We had no choice but to leave and we will never be back again! After visiting I wanted to leave a review because I felt other people should steer clear. To my surprise, I read reviews here that mentioned almost the exact experience we had. So, this is not an isolated incident and Dive Bar has not taken our comments into consideration. Disclaimer: I did not have this experience, but it was very disheartening to see all the reviews, tik toks, reels, etc. I found after visiting Dive Bar in which women and men are claiming to have been roofied. This may or may not be true, but it can't be a coincidence this many people have had the same experience. There needs to be an investigation into this bar. I myself will be placing a call to the BBB and I hope that anyone who has had that experience feels empowered to speak to the authorities.
