After finding a 45 minute wait at Depot Diner, my husband, one year old and I decided to give Frescafe a try. For a Sunday around 11, it was quite busy, but we only had to wait a minute for a table to be cleared off. I had the hash/eggs benedict which were good. While the egg was a bit overcooked, the hash was soooo good and I'm about 99% sure that the english muffin was homemade and was so tasty. The thing that really stood out was how kind all of the staff were. Despite how busy the restaurant was, you never felt forgotten about and always had your coffee full. Went with friends. Food was really fantastic and the coffee was good. The service tho, not mui bueno. The place isn't huge and has maybe 20 tables and a max capacity of 80 customers. It was somewhat busy, but not at max cap. We spent a total of 1.5 hours there from 1030a to 12p, which beat the post church rush. I'd say 30 mins of it was actually eating. The rest of the time was spent waiting, including a 5-10 min segway to have the food reheated after taking a long time to get it out. I'd give it a second try on a different day. read more

This will be my second review for this restaurant. This place has always been my go to brunch place on Sundays. I always order the same food, hash and eggs and it's always been consistent. The reason why they are losing one star is because hash and eggs usually comes with toast and home fries and today I wasn't feeling the home fries and asked if I can sub it with bacon and the waitress said sure no problem and that the bacon comes with this entree so I can have both. So I agreed, and when the bill came they had charged me $2.99 for a second of bacon. I didn't even feel like complaining about it because I wasn't in the mood to order however next time I just know not to believe when they say "bacon comes with it". read more

I have ordered sweet potatoes fries, and personalized omelet with French Toast. I always believed French toast was made with egg, cinnamon and vanilla extract ( which saw in recipe).. But what I had today didnt believe that that would be like this also... it was salty, it didnot taste like bread was dipped in egg and toasted. Rather it tasted like butter was melted on it and toasted.. Sweet potatoes should be sweet ... I guess so... but this was salty again and no taste in it..( just salty). I ordered omelet with veggies and grilled chicken. But the chicken I tasted in the omelet isn't fresh. Didn't have another bite. The food was a waste.. The lady at the counter is not American by her slang... i went to many American food restaurants before ... no one ever said to me but here I was told that my language is not clear .. it will be if hears it ‍... right? I gave it a 1 star because I couldn't select 0 (zero!). Let me see how I can describe this horrible experience...first I went there with my family including my parents (6 people in total!) because we were celebrating my birthday. As we sat down, the server came to bring coffee. The coffee was super watery and tasted like hot city water. Secondly, I along with my son ordered orange juice. When the orange juice arrived it was watery and had a particular taste of rotten oranges at the end. I told my husband to take the juice to the counter and the other lady there brought the juice after supposedly she had shaken the juice because it was recently put in the machine and she said she was Brazilian so she didn't know about OJ(not sure about that because I have many Brazilian friends whom know what an OJ should taste like!). I tasted the juice in front of her and this time it did taste rotten and I told her to bring me soda instead. I ordered A Pepsi and a Ginger Ale for my son and even the soda was bad (didn't have much soda in it). I ordered a Nutella and fruit french toast and my son ordered the Smore's pancakes which supposedly came with marshmallows and chocolate chips. My son's Smore's pancakes were not cooked entirely so they tasted like raw dough and there wasn't any marshmallows to be seen, the taste was horrible to say the least! I had to give my son part of my plate which also wasn't good in order for him to eat at least something. My french toast, the berries and fruit was still frozen (they don't use fresh fruit and apparently the frozen kind they don't even thaw them before serving!!!). My husband, father and mother had omelettes. The taste and quality was little to desire and my daughter ordered the Almond Joy french toast and the quality and taste of it was horrific as well, she ended only eating part of it. When my mother finished I told my husband to take care of the bill(I didn't want to protest or make any remarks about the food because I didn't want my husband to feel bad for taking me to this restaurant for the first time for my birthday. So I walked out with my family to the car and when my husband got to our car he told me that the server had told him that she had forgotten to tell us at the beginning before ordering that they charge an automatic whopping 18% Tip for parties of 5 people or more!!!! What??? !!! Thank God for them I had walked out to the car and didn't stay with my husband to take care of the tab they would've heard a piece of my mind! Not only was the service not worth even a 15% let alone an 18% specially when the food was of low quality and horrible taste and rotten juices etc. etc!! I will NEVER Visit this place again and I will tell everyone including my family and friends to NOT GO! Horrible!!! Our tab was $94 including the 18% tip (which they enforced without letting us know before ordering!!!) I have never had to write a review before but I just thought that this experience warranted to be shared, people BEWARE! These people are crooks in disguise DO NOT GO HERE!!! I usually grab take out from their Natick location, but this weekend, my family and I went to eat in their Framingham restaurant. Service was G R E A T...friendly, accurate and relaxed. We enjoyed one of their light and sweet Belgium waffles which was big enough to share. There were several guys in the kitchen, at least 3 waitresses, and not a full house. But our food took 45-50 mins to come out (after I complained after waiting for 40 minutes). I live within walking distance to Frescafe and was happy to give a local business a try this morning. Three menu pages of breakfast options -- really impressive for a small independent restaurant! Lots of omelet choices, in addition to the standards plus waffles & French toast. Julia's French toast (stuffed chocolate chip) was DELICIOUS! And the portion size was huge! Easy to see why their French toast is so popular! If they were in another location, they could probably get $10+ for this, but it was only 8 bucks. I wish I didn't have a food intolerance (banana) or I'd love to try the chunky monkey (pancakes, I think) -- banana, walnuts, Nutella! The staff was friendly & service prompt. Also, they've done a good job with the decor. A storefront place like this could easily look awkward, dated, and/or dirty, but it's clean, simple, nice. I'll definitely go back. read more

I brought my son here for breakfast since the line at J&M was gigantic on a Saturday morning. I heard about this place but was concerned about parking. We found parking a couple blocks away and was surprised to find that we were the 2nd and third customers sitting down. One very pleasant waitress managed the front of the restaurant, which be came more busy as we finished our breakfast. I had the Irish Benedict and the corned beef hash can rival J&M!! My son had the m&m pancakes and could not finish. There is a special board in the back with some yummy suggestions for our next visit. The menu is diverse and has something everyone. The waitress kept asking us if we were ready to order, we said YES! and she would respond "Oh Ok, I'll come right back." (WTF?!) and the icing on the cake was that one of people from the party got a bagel sandwich with a long hair on it. The breakfast food here is just so yummy! I live in Framingham and I always wanted a good breakfast place to go to right downtown. It took me a while to actually stop in but Im glad that I did. The town opened up a big public parking lot right across the street so finding parking is no longer an issue. I love eggs benedict, this place did not disappoint. The hollandaise sauce is my favorite kind (savoury not sour) and they keep coming back to refill your cup of coffee. I like my coffee piping hot - this was a huge plus for me. The prices are very reasonable. Less then $5 for 2 eggs, toast & homefries. Cant beat that! Im giving it a full 5 stars for taste, value & being the only full American breakfast menu offered in Framingham center. Been going there for some time now. Food is good and the prices are average. My friends like it also ( used to go to Sunny Side in Ashland ), but we like Frescafe better. Had various items from Shrimp Scampi omelet ( yummy ), Ruben Sandwich ( they offer it with lettuce ,tomatoes, sauerkraut, dressing), order mine without lettuce/tomatoes, to me, that does not belong on a Ruben ( very good ). Had also the regular eggs Benedict a few times,good, but it needs more Canadian bacon. Went in the other day for a Ruben and a poached egg with hollandaise. Ruben was good, but the egg was sitting in a water puddle and the sauce in its own little dish , tasted very watery. Visited the Natick location on Sunday morning. Disappointed in service. Very poorly managed restaurant. No manager or owner were on site and waitstaff was clearly over whelmed with the Sunday morning rush. Kitchen was slow getting the basic meals (oatmeal) out to its customers. After waiting 45 minutes and no sign of our food we got up and left. All the tables around ours were experiencing the same issue. To make matter worse, our waiter was ignoring our requests for service. When told that we were leaving he asked us to pay for our coffee. Really....... Beware if there are more than 5 cars in the parking lot, plan on waiting for a long time to get your food. I wish I could have done a review on the food, but we never had a chance to try it and probably never wIll. read more

This place has horrible customer service - the pregnant waitress has an attitude and when we went in there to eat and requested another waiter - we were assigned to her in spite. Not only a good breakfast place and just plain good food, but healthy. We'd been there 4-5 yrs ago when under other management and it wasn't worth returning, but we went back today because it was close and found out it was a new owner and had a new menu. Now they have a large selection of salads, and veggie omelets with things like fresh zucchini, avocado, and spinach, and wonderful Benedicts with made-on-the-spot Hollandaise sauce with a touch of hot zing to it. Plenty of food for the money. Nice booths all around and plenty of room for 2 or 4 per booth. Fresh crispy muffins with jellies on the table and they bring you a bowl of creams when you get hot or iced coffee, no having to flag the waitress for more. Excellent service and very personable help. Not sure about weekend crowding, but at Noon on a weekday, there's ample seating without waiting, Red potato home fries, done nice and crispy, and poached eggs on a bed of greens. Tasty and filling. Finally a breakfast place that provides a typical American breakfast while still allowing healthy eating and doesn't smother you in grease. Highly recommended. Right downtown Framingham and there is some construction, but we parked in the Franklin St lot and walked through the Arcade with no problem. We'll definitely be coming back frequently, read more
