This is not a diner. Prepare yourself for mediocre food at gourmet prices. My Dad who is elderly and disabled asked for 1 egg, 1 bacon, and 1 toast. The server decided he needed a $10 breakfast that consisted of eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast. I had the reuben- tasteless other than a weird taste from the griddle- A fast food place that begins with an A is better-sad. I would not recommend. First time here and loved it. Very quick service even on a busy Saturday. I ordered the butcher block skillet. It's basically eggs, hash browns, ham, sausage, and bacon all mixed up with a side of pancakes. It was FREAKING amazing. Pancakes were light and yummy as well. The girlfriend got huevos rancheros and loved them. Cleaned her plate, she's a little girl, and usually doesn't do that. Then finished my pancakes. Needless to say she was happy and full. It was pretty crowded on a Sunday mid-morning but they did an excellent job at keeping the turn over of tables to a minimum. There were several people in line for a table before us and we had at table in about 20 minutes. The food came out soon after we ordered and our waitress was attentive. It was very loud in the restaurant from all the guests talking so it was difficult to hear my grandmother across the table. Only a couple things happened during our visit. The waitress brought my husband a unsweetened tea when he asked for sweet (very common mistake and again a very loud restaurant) and my grandmother assumed the blueberries would be cooked into the pancake, not rolling around in top of the pancakes. Meeting friends, I was pretty sure I could spot this place from the access road. Wrong. I had to go all the way to Eldorado and turn around.I had to use Waze to find it. Parking in front of the "diner" with a blacked out front window, this looked like a place that might have few patrons. Wrong again. The place is packed. My friends come here a lot for breakfast. They love it. The service is great and the food is excellent. What makes this different in Frisco is that it is a throwback to times when a diner was pretty common and perhaps the place everyone in the community would visit on a regular basis. This is obviously not a chain restaurant but a one off local establishment. All of this works perfectly. Where I grew up, diners were common. Huge restaurants that actually looked a little like a dining car. Open 24 hours a day. Displays of huge pieces of pie under a covered clear serving cover. This is not that kind of diner, but it does have a big menu and offers many of the items that diners of the past would have. Servers are great, they are there to get you in and out quickly and don't stay to chit chat which I prefer. Food is consistent and always tastes great, large servings and reasonably priced. I really wish I could give a 1/2 star here. My husband said the coffee was good, that's 1 star, the orange juice was freshly squeezed and the had sausage patties instead of just links. That's how they get the other two stars. It was also clean and fast. It's disappointing that diners and brunch places get away with serving pancakes from a box and hash browns that are bland and not cooked through and NO breakfast potatoes. HOW do they have 4.5 stars? Maybe I'm being too harsh, I mean they don't claim to be made from scratch. But if I give 4-5 starts it's going to be because the restaurant makes many of their own food items. If you're good with pancake mix pancakes and just need a basic breakfast I think this place is just fine. Otherwise, keep looking. read more

I've chased this dish at other restaurants since and it's never been as good. I finally came back to this area at a time that I could have it again. When we want a quick, easy, delicious breakfast we opt for Frisco Diner. Unlike most "normal" humans, my husband can, and will, eat a buffalo chicken sandwich for breakfast. Here...that is no issue. We stopped in for breakfast on a saturday and if there is a big wait -- you will be standing outside. We did not have that experience and were seated in a booth. Quickly served with menus and water we were ready to order. My husband asked about the cornbeef hash and was told it was canned not fresh. Ok came here with wife to check the diner out, I had the omelet with gravy and biscuits on the inside and hash browns, pancakes and coffee. My omelet was fluffy and not eggy tasting, really good, gravy was flavorful hash browns nice and we'll cooked but not crunchy good hash to omelet amount (I had hash browns with each omelet bite) with a touch of Cholula really good, now the coffee is not bad, but each refill, starting with the first fill up, coffee was warm at best, I like my coffee HOT! surprisingly the food was not greasy, The wife had a skillet can't remember the name, but I am sure it was the veggie healthy version, lol, she said her skillet was very good. Today was our first visit to Frisco Diner, but it won't be our last. The food is not amazing, but is very good. The food was served in 20 minutes, which again is long considering how small this place is. We ordered the alamo omelette and the migas. The food was simple and good, but a bit bland. For their classic food and ambience and noise level, the prices are a bit steep. The chairs are not comfortable either. If there was a way to give this place three and a half stars I would.
