Excellent first experience. Bottomless complimentary chips & salsa were great. We also had the queso dip, which is only $5 for a large portion and absolutely delicious! I had the spinach enchiladas as my entree. They were very good- packed with fresh spinach and cheese, served with rice, beans, pico de gallo, lettuce, and sour cream. I like this place! Pretty standard chain Mexican, but we don't have that many of those around here so I would love for it to stay open! One of my favourite things is that they have vegetarian options that are actually pretty good. Gaucamole is good as well, the 'make at your table' is a bit gimmicky though. We've only ever had to wait one time going here, you always get seated right away. You get chips and salsa for free, and the alcoholic drinks are big and well made. My girlfriend and I usually get the chicken fajitas for two and it's a good sized meal for about 20ish dollars. Clean environment and nice staff. We go here every Friday before the gym. read more

Absolutely disgusting. A 2 hour wait for my food, the food was extremly pricey, completely undercooked, and taisted like garbage. I will never eat here again. They sat me, someone under 21, at the bar and the repeated me to a place where me and my family had to split up. This place is garbage and I will never ever eat here. I dont know how this place passed the board of health but I 100% suggest not coming here waist of both time, money, and patience. The only thing that helps me give this place at least one star was a woman (forgot her name) who did apologise about the food but she also talked to me and my family in an extremely rude tone that is completely unacceptable. Huge disappointment once again. Been here a few times. Waiters barely spoke English got our orders all wrong. The place smells like a dirty mop. Never was even asked if we wanted guacamole. But, yet when we asked for guacamole the waitress just bought small bowl that cost $7 for a party of 8. Asked for a glass of water brought us a sprite. Glad to see a Mexican restaurant in fairhaven. We were told it was really good so naturally had to try it out. I ordered a mango mojito, but I couldn't taste any mango. It was good though. I ordered a second and asked whether the first was mango...apparently it was. The waitress said she would ask the bartender for more mango without sacrificing liquor. The second didn't taste or look like it had mango in it either. Oh well. Chips and salsa were complimentary and were quite yummy. The salsa was spicy but definitely tasted fresh. I loved that the chips were warm. Steak burrito was good. Maybe should have had more rice and fillings in it, but it was fine. Waitstaff was very attentive, nice, and personable. I went on a Tuesday night and I wont let the secret out of the bag on that one but I will say that they are amazing! I got two pork tacos and the Korean Short Rib tacos! Everything was awesome! I went here on a date with my girlfriend after hearing so many things about it on the radio and really didnt here about anybody going their so i tried it out. When i went their the waitress seemed to ignore us right off the bat then when she finally came she gave us a menu and took off to give us a second to order and grab our drinks after we waited a while she walked by us multiple times and i waited until she looked at me assuming maybe she doesnt realize were ready to order so when she did look at me i waved her over and she just turned her head and came back about 5 minutes later , we then ordered something we both found in the menu wich the menu wasnt to broad of a list. She also seemed mad that she was working their she had no personality and seemed like she would have been happier if we just left . If you're looking for a casual atmosphere with great Mexican food at affordable prices this is where to go. My favorite is the guacamole with everything on it. It's delicious and addicting, made fresh right in from of you and to your liking. Also if you're celebrating someone's birthday the staff at the restaurant all get together and serenade your table with singing partly in Spanish and some singing is English too and they bring out a large sombrero hat for the birthday person. Upon first entering this establishment, the bright colors and interesting decor provide a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to return. If you're me, you'll notice that their certificate is displayed in the front window and reads "Fontera Grill", missing the " r". I pointed this out months ago but it's yet to be fixed. I've eaten here twice, each time I found myself unimpressed with the food. The guacamole (when made tableside) is a deliciously fresh accompaniment to the warm nachos, but the guacamole from the kitchen is not as fresh and I found to have a somewhat soapy taste. The first time I ordered the Street Tacos and found them to be rather bland. The second time I went, I ordered the Deluxe Burrito and it was very mushy and the meat was unseasoned and it was all just a total mess so I had them take it back and I asked for the Sante Fe Chimichanga that my girlfriend had ordered. It came out reasonably quick and was a better dish in general, but still had a mushy consistency. The service however was fantastic, and the waiter was kind, understanding and very willing to accommodate my tastes. If you're looking for a good spicy taco, there are tastier options at Taco Bell. The Frontera Grill is not the place to go for a tasty burrito you can hold in your hand, but if you wish to overpay for a mushy and unseasoned burrito that you must use a fork to eat, there is no place better. In addition, if you're looking to take the rest of your huge meal home and refrigerate for later, beware, this food is not very good after a few hours, and I love food cold. read more

Headed to The Frontera Grill for a lunch meeting. I arrived first and decided to head in get our table and wait in the AC. I had never been to the restaurant before so I was excited to try it. Ample parking available. I walked in and immediately sensed an almost overwhelming smell of mildew in the entryway. I looked down at the tile and saw what looked to be mildew in the corners and bordering the walls in the entryway but thought maybe it was in my head. I'm sensitive to mold/mildew so I continued in. Went up to the desk and was greeted. Inside the restaurant still the smell of mildew/must but followed the greeter and went to the booth. That was all I could take- I turned around and smelled the cloth booth backing and it wreaked of just a nasty odor. Where I was seated the must/mildew smell was almost overwhelming and I started to get a headache after being in there for only a total of about 5 min. I got up, walked outside and called the person I was meeting for the lunch meeting. I asked her when the last time was she was there and she told me a couple of months ago. I told her what I had experienced and she then told me that apparently this restaurant had a fire recently and had just reopened. There you have it- water damage has probably settled in that's what I smelled and I can only imagine whats going on where food is stored and prepared. It's too bad because this place had great reviews and even the person I was meeting there (she was the one that had originally suggested we go there) used to love the food. We decided to head to Ricardos in Fairhaven and ended up having a really nice lunch there. read more

We had dinner on a Friday evening. The wait was roughly 20 minutes (not bad). The food and service was good. The chips & salsa also good. The place was very busy and loud (still ok and expected). However, the prices for main course were a bit high (comparatively to other non-mainstream mexican restaurants we go to) and the drinks were very weak (and pricey as a result). I had 2 "Fronterra Top Shelf" margarita (which was good) but basically had little to no tequila (evidenced because after two drinks I still felt nothing). So, overall, food & service good. We visited on a Tuesday which we found out, upon arrival, was $1 taco night. They told us it's usually only available in the bar but they extended the offer to the restaurant as well. It was very busy but thankfully we didn't wait long for a seat. I loved the atmosphere. Everything was beautiful, colorful, and most importantly, clean. There wasn't a sticky seat or table to be found. It did take quite a bit for someone to come and ask us for our drink order. They also forgot to give us a 3rd set of utensils. My daughter order the chicken enchilada and a virgin watermelon margarita from the kids menu. Prices weren't listed on the menu for the kids, but the margarita was $5.50 and the meal was $5 which came with French fries or the option of rice and beans. We really liked the French fries. Unfortunately none of us liked the enchilada though. We got a small table side guacamole. It was a very generous portion for $6. The cart it came around on does have a giant tip jar on it so be prepared for that. We don't usually carry cash, but thankfully we had a couple dollars to offer her. We were given 3 small bowls of salsa and a basket of chips as well. For dinner, we ordered one of each kind of taco (pork, meat, and chicken) and an arroz con pollo. The food arrived at the table fairly quickly considering how busy it was. We found the tacos to be too plain, without a sauce or many toppings but that is common. The star of the night was the arroz con pollo though I felt at almost $15 it was a bit pricey. Moist chicken and fresh mushrooms and peppers, did make it great. We love Mexican food and we are new to the area. A friend recommended FG tonight and we were excited to try it. We arrived at just about 5 pm on a Monday. The decor was festive, we were instantly greeted with chips/salsa. Our waiter came by and took first our drink and then our food order. The food was fantastic! That was the last I would see of our waiter for over a half hour. I was enjoying myself and not in a rush and I noticed he had been sat several tables, so having been a server myself for 15 years, I got it and patiently waited for what I intended to ask for: 1 to go box, 1 fried ice cream for my son and Myself to share and our check. But the opportunity never came. Guests who arrived quite a while after us left and I was starting to lose patience and make eye contact with other staff members. Another guest with small children was also beginning to get antsy. Finally after he passed us several times without stopping, I went to the hostess stand and asked for the bill. Their chance to apologize vaporized as she insisted I go back to my seat and wait and she'd tell him. I refused. He came over gave me the check, I paid it and left. No one ever apologized. Pity. All it would have taken was an acknowledgement. We have all been in the weeds. I would have understood and possibly been a regular. Inexcusable. read more
