Atmosphere and service were both good. Chips are homemade but the tortillas are a bit bland; the salsa was tasty but thin. No shredded beef, so instead of a taco I had a pork tamale, which didn't have a high enough masa-to-pork ratio (too little masa). The cheese enchilada wasn't hearty enough, having a sauce inside. Solid food..good decor...kids ate everything. They made two different chicken tacos for me and I am sad I turned down the table side guacamole service cause 6 and 9 dollars for a small or large portion is a great deal. ( kids don't all love guacamole) read more

I Was looking forward to trying Frontera for a few weeks--I love a good margarita and Mexican cuisine. My wife and I went in on a tues night expecting a great drink and a snack---what we got was one of the worst dining nights imaginable. The bar had 2 others at it--the sloppy bartender had a large plate of food in front of him that seemed to be his precedence--/as we sat and watched him eat instead of taking our order. Then, he wiped his mouth with his hand--and grabbed my margarita glass with his greasy, dirty fingers inside the glass(not by the stem as customary). He did not know the recipe for my drink--which was one of maybe 5 off the menu. Being a long time food and bev professional, I know ratio and pouring. He put a dab of tequila ( not the repasado as the menu calked for, but a cheaper silver) then did a looooong pour of agave syrup and a dash of line. The drink tasted like syrup. Taco shells were stale---probably good that it was $1 night. Next drink---had to look up the recipe again. This time I switched drinks and it was so strong I could barely drink it. We sat for at least 30 minutes with dirty plates in front of us as h&m the bartender cleaned around us. Finally he cleared our dishes. We paid--he cashed us out and went I. To count his register, cash out and maybe left---we never saw him again. It was 10:30. No "thank you" for the 20% tip he didn't deserve. No "good night" to us. We can't imagine going back---I can't tell you what a horrible choice if staff they made with Bryant. Maybe another night would be better--but we won't try. read more

Been here a couple of times and keep expecting a different experience each time, but, just keep getting more of the same. The food here is good.... Good - not great But there are issues here to be discussed... The Chips and Salsa are delicious and I have not yet tried the table side guacamole because I knew what I was going to order had guacamole with it. Having said that, I just had supper here last night. There were 4 of us at the table. The meals were good, but in need of help. I ordered the Fajitas which were very tasty and came to the table hot and sizzling, but the plate of extras to go with it was very lacking. I had the equivalent of a teaspoon of guacamole, a tablespoon of sour cream, about a 1/4 of a small tomato chopped, a pinch of lettuce and a small spoon full of rice and refried beans. One of my friends ordered a Quesadilla and got the same type of plate of extras that I did with very little "extras". Another person had a salad which looked great and the last person had a combination plate. Once again, the combination plate had small portions and very little "extras" that she paid extra for. Now I have ordered the combination plates before and have always found the same issue. The extras aren't that "extra" and the portion size is on the minimal side. Like I said before the food is good, but if you have ever gone to El Mariachis (and you should, if you haven't) you will notice a few things. The price at both locations are pretty much the same, but, the food portion is completely different. You get your money's worth at El Mariachis, you get the bare minimum at Frontera. Come on... it's rice and beans... These are very very cheap side dishes, not to mention Lettuce and tomato... My other issues with our eating out last night... The waitstaff... Our waitress (although very nice) seemed to be either frazzled out of her mind or new to the restaurant... I'm thinking she was just frazzled because she mentioned to us that they were understaffed for the amount of guests in the restaurant. She wasn't around much. Forgot to bring things when we asked for them... The Bill... We got 2 checks for dinner. 1 from the Bar and 1 for the food. What?????? What is up with that???? I'm still baffled.... (while I'm on the subject of the bar bill $7.50 for a 20oz Draft Beer WHAT?) Frontera... you are well past your opening glitches... it's been almost a year now... Get it together and step it up... If it wasn't for my friends wanting to stay local I would have gone to El Mariachis in Taunton !!!!!! read more

After dining here tonight, I can say without question this restaurant had the worst service I've ever experienced. While the place was crowded, there is no excuse for waiting 45 minutes for food to be delivered to your table. I ordered really simple tacos and they still managed to screw up my order. Normally, I would have asked them to fix the mistake, but who knows how long it would have taken to get them back? I was still kinda hungry, so I ordered one taco to go. That took an additional 10 minutes and the order was wrong AGAIN. We sat at the booth closest to the kitchen, but that didn't help matters. To be fair, the busboy was very nice and talkative and consistently asked if we wanted more chips. I took this into consideration when I left a tip. It wasn't his fault the service was terrible. It stinks that there aren't many Mexican places in the area, but I will be driving to another location next time I am in the mood for some tacos. read more

BEWARE! Given the fact this restaurant is fairly new, I did not expect what was to come. I ate here not even a week ago and have been diagnosed with FOOD POISIONING. I sat at the bar (a very dirty bar). The bartender was too concerned with getting me to try their Margaritas (which I had none) instead of cleaning the mess that the prior person made before me. I took it upon myself & grabbed a few napkins and cleaned up. Those dirty napkins stood in front of my face until about an hour and a half, when I finally left. I ordered the Guacamole & chips as an app. and Chicken Fajitas as my meal. I got my chicken fajitas first and the bartender didnt even notice I didnt get my guacamole & chips. So after my food arrives, this very sweet lady brings over the guacamole cart and begins to prepare the guacamole...while Im trying to eat. Needless to say, I wish I didnt take a single bite. A few hours after I ate, I became extremely nauseous. The next morning I experienced the same symptoms all day long & as I dont need to go into detail, I've spent the past 5 days living near my bathroom. I am writing this while I am sitting in a gurney at the hospital awaiting my results. Amazing to hear my nurse also has had friends who became very ill after eating here as well. I do not recommend this place to anyone and will NEVER go back. The fact they don't care about the safety of their guests is #1 reason not to eat there. EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!!!! read more

I was really happy to hear that there was a local Mexican family resturant in fairhaven. So i thought i give it a chancem The overall smell if the place gave me a headache it was a musty moldy smell. To start with I ordered a El presidente Margarita with no salt;; i got my drink and there was salt and my server was a older Mexican lady and was rude when I asked for no salt. Then I ordered table side gaucmole for an appetizer and didn't get to have my appetizer before my meal because my meal came before. Which overrall my meal was camerons repsado 1800 was brought out with the dirtiest pot holder I have ever seen which instantly made me really wonder how they handle food in the kitchen. The table side gaucmole cost $6 for a small and there was an overall note on the tip cup basically being for money which I think is to much. My Overall experience I give it a -5 I would not recommend this place to no one read more

i loved unos and was a regular thier i was happy to see a new place in town so i went in it still looked like unos and the remodel they did do looked tacky and made me feel uncomfrotable i sat at the bar i was told by a sever thier that i will help you in a minute not sure what watch they use but i waited 20 mins and still no drink or food and thier was 3 bar tenders then as i was siting thier they was looking for a bottel of something to make a drink one of the staff that worked thier almost pushed me off my stool never said he was sorry so i walked out i will never go back so keep your food if your that rude maybe the next resurant to move in thier will get it right read more

I grew up down south in an area with a lot of good, authentic Mexican restaurants and now that I live in New England I've spent years looking for anything comparable with little success. My wife, daughter and I tried this place for the first time yesterday and were extremely surprised! I had a pork burrito, chicken enchilada and beef chimi. The chimi was probably the best I've ever had, it was crisp and not soggy like so many other places. The quality of meats seemed excellent. We didn't have any drinks but the drink menu looked good and prices fairly reasonable. The jalapeno queso is fantastic...just as good as the authentic places down south. The service was probably only 4 stars but just barely shy of a 5. I'm guessing the young lady was new and just seemed a little nervous. El Mariachi is just okay in my opinion. Fiesta Mexican in Somerset, MA and Sam Diego's in Hyannis/Plymouth are also good options but if I had a choice and it wasn't a far drive for us I'd go here every time!! read more

Never again.. overall horrible experience. When I first got to frontera I walked in th e door and therected was a young girl standing there staring at me like she was very nervous of her job and then when I asked to be seated on of the other hostesses started looking around like she was doing something wrong. Then when I was seated no one came to the table for about 20 mins. I believe the waitress name was Joyline she was Mexican or Spanish. She was not like no other waitress she was flirting and overall she was to much. My wife was very unhappy how the girl was acting and flirting. And then when I ordered my food some lady came over to the table sayino she was customer care. Which I don't understand I never asked for customer care all I wanted to do was enjoy me meal.. meanwhile when she was at the table she kept on talking and talking and nothing was about the resturant or customer service. So when she finally stopped I couldn't even enjoy my meal. The food was so cold and the plate was still hot!!! Very strange. I will never go back and never recommend antone to go there either! read more
