Good Mexican food they have decent street tacos and good shredded chicken burritos lots of flavor and good portions

I have to admit that the last few times I have gone here, I have left feeling a little disappointed for one reason or another. Service is always good, food is consistent but never quite as good as the first time I came here, yet I keep going back. This last trip, my disappointment was with the margherita. It tasted like tequila and Gatorade. Salsa is always delicious and my Chile Relleno was awesome... But everything else was meh. I want this place to be better. I feel like they do a great job with serving you quickly and feeding you plenty but I would like to see a little more emphasis on quality. read more

For casual family Mexican dining, you couldn't do any better! My girlfriend and I went on a whim while on vacation in the area and had an awesome experience! Being tequila people, the 'Ritas were great! We went top shelf, but they have a wide variety of styles and flavors for whatever your drinking budget. The wait staff was populous and attentive, clearing every dish we were finished with AS we finished with it. They provided immediate refills on both drinks and chips/salsa borderline without even asking. My one minor complaint I had, which may ironically be the best part of the experience for some people, would be the table side guacamole cart. That girl was a shark, man! She saw the blood in the water (people sitting at their tables) and she was like HERE HAVE SOME GUACAMOLEEE!!! I admire her determination to upsell me with some probably amazingly delicious guac, but I wasn't having any of her shenanigans that night. Overall it was a great experience. Food was exceptional, drinks were good and strong and the service was A+. 10/10, would drink there again (and eat too). read more

My parents made the bold decision to bring my Texas wife to Frontera, promising a girl who bleeds TexMex that she wouldn't be disappointed. Their gamble paid off!! From the delicious, fresh made-at-the-table guacamole, to the glorious pitchers of sangria, the bacon wrapped shrimp tacos with garlic lime aioli sauce...all served with a smile from our most attentive waiter Luke. Informed the server that I have a SEVERE allergy to peas before we ordered. I was reassured that there's no peas in my dish. After eating about half of my meal, I realize there's peas mixed in my rice. After I mentioned it to my server, she brought the manager over to speak to me. After I explained what had happened, his response was "It wasn't in the chimichanga you ordered, it was on the side". I stared at him for a second, appalled, then responded with "Does that change the fact that I have to go to the hospital now? It was on my plate after I specified I'm allergic to it. Do this place not take food allergies seriously?" His response, you ask? "Well, what do you want me to do, sir?" Don't eat here. My partner and I moved in around the area in June. Since then this place has been pretty much a go to! We haven't actually sat inside yet. We have done take out and outdoor seating due to the pandemic still hitting us heavy. However, I have never had a bad experience here! Drinks are awesome, the food never disappoints. And the guacamole has mango in it, which I find to be different and very good! We have had several members of wait staff, and they are all very kind. Have been to Frontera many times both individually and as group from our office to celebrate birthdays etc. Food always good and enjoyable, however last time the service was rude at best. Server tried to fit seven of us at one table with a chair on the end. We asked to be moved to a longer table and she became belligerent while moving us. Then literally, she threw the menus on the table from about six feet away. A male server came to take our order and acted like he was doing us a favor and became impatient because we asked a few questions and apparently we weren't moving according to his timetable. While I realize it was extremely busy due to an onslaught of school kids, this behavior is unacceptable. Apparently their usual cordial demeanor is an act. read more

Food was good, I liked the table side guacamole. Everything is WAY overpriced in my opinion, seeing as though it's mostly rice and beans, I feel like 14 bucks is too much for 2 tacos. I won't be going back because the bill was higher than what I felt was reasonable. read more

Went today for the first time, and what a find! Everyone who works here is so friendly, and Angel in particular was a delight. I got the combo with a chile relleno and a enchilada- the chile relleno was one of the best I've ever had, lightly fried and covered with a delicious crema sauce. read more

Good service, lots of menu options, and fantastic fresh-made guacamole! My family and I enjoyed great salmon tacos, reasonably priced food & drinks, and good margaritas. Lost a star because their item marked as "Best Tacos" were absolutely not the best and because their "side salad" that came with the salmon tacos was literally a pile of iceberg lettuce but not a "salad" by any means. This place is awful! I have never met such a rude waiter! The guy seemed to have a constant attitude and the food stunk!!! The guacamole was awful, my friends quesadilla was subpar. My combo plate chille relleno was awful (I couldn't even eat it), the tacos were fine (how can you screw those up!?). Then I asked them to sing to my friend for her birthday. The waiter literally slid some ice cream in front of her, said "happy birthday miss here's your check" in a rude tone and then left!!! They never sang to her or even asked me if I wanted anything for dessert! They weren't even busy there so I don't know what his issue was! Went to grab a bite to eat about an hour before they closed. Bartender walked past us and practically threw the menus down in front of us and kept walking without saying a word. Already my husband wanted to leave but I said no. She asked us for a drink order with miserable look on her face. Never offered us any chips and salsa like everyone usually gets. The man who was mopping the floor heard us talking and offered us some and brought it over. We ended up ordering the 3 tacos plate to share which according to the menu should've come with rice, beans, sour cream. It came with nothing. We asked for sour cream and got charged for it, and charged full amount for not even getting anything with the tacos. We ordered a small guacamole to have with our food and didn't get it until we had to ask again. As we're eating our food at the bar the man cleaning up was using a powerful smelling cleaner to mop the floor behind the bar right in front of us. We ate quickly and paid our bill anxious to get out of there, especially feeling very uncomfortable around the bartender who barely said anything to us and looked miserable. Maybe she was mad we came in? I usually don't go to eat anywhere within a half hour of closing but we got there a full hour before close. There were other customers there too. I just don't understand but I guess it's not my job to understand them, I just won't go back. There are plenty of other places that I can go and give my business to and receive decent service. read more

Dinner stop, so disappointed! Fajitas came on a Luke warm tray... no sizzle! Cold beef, lukewarm shrimp....no cheese. Rice was dry. Had tableside guacamole which we have had before and loved..... today was not good. Server never even looked at us or asked if we wanted spicy or garlic....he could have cared less. I wish I could give zero stars! Horrible service and poor quality food! Waited 30 minutes for a waiter and had to get up and find someone. Ordered table side guacamole but had no chips to eat it. Waited another 20 minutes for drinks so ate all chip dying of thrist!! Then food finally arrive but I did not get my food entree for another 15 minutes! My daughter's meal was cold and when my taco's arrived the corn tortilla was dripping in grease! Yuck! The waiter was not friendly and no where to be found!! Charming and authentic ambience started us off right as we entered the door! The food was fresh and everything thoughtfully prepared, even the side veggies with my pescado verecruz were tender and flavorful. I want to express my appreciation for excellent service. Our greeter was prompt, our server was sincerely respectful. Great service! I was impressed with how our table was being attended to, but from my view point I faced the main hub of the restaurant and told the other members of my party to observe this staff, they were hustling, working together, a fine honed crew. It was no accident to be a accommodated so accurately from the first greeting to thank you Mi Amigos! Atmosphere is adorable, colorful and festive with joyful servers, I had a delicious Mojito, not weak as I have been served else where, my toco salad was hands down the best Toco Salad I have eaten from a restaurant. Again I was so impressed with the Flavor, texture and freshness that I offered a taste of this well seasoned, shredded chicken to the others with me. Came kinda late for taco Tuesday, but was still served. Bought the chicken tenders witch was just a chicken cutlet with sauce on it. Two chicken tacos & one beef was my order, very tasty but have to leave early due to overwhelming smell of bleach & ammonia. Told our waiter that the smell killed our appetite, he apologized and comped us a meal. Will have to try this place again during peak hours but for now it's the worst place I've been to. read more

I have to advise people not to go to this place. I moved to fairhaven this year for school, and on move in day im September i went and ordered tacos. I was violently ill the next day. I attributes this to a bug or my nervousness for school. My boyfriend and I went again a month ago and the same thing happened. I have no allergies and was starting to think I must have developed one, when my roommate said the food there made her sick too! Stock to Taco Bell or chipotle. read more

Three words: TABLE SIDE GUACAMOLE! It was by far some of the best table side guac I have ever had. The Guac was a little more expensive, but it was sooooo worth it! I got the vegetarian platter, which consisted of a spinach enchilada, a cheese enchilada and a chile relleno. The cheese enchilada was amazing, and the Spinach had an interesting twist to it with diced veggies on the inside as well as spinach. A couple of small things, I didn't care for my ultimate margarita. It was way too sweet. Didn't seem like there was any tequila in it. Also, the world cup was on. Now that wouldn't normally seem like a bad thing, but the staff was standing around watching it, which was...whatever...but every once in a while they would all SCREAM about a goal. The woman next to me nearly fell off of her stool, and I think I dropped my fork. Also, because of this, the bartender was not as attentive as we would have liked. When soccer is no longer on, I would like to give this place another chance and I think I will update this review to five stars! read more

I've heard from a few people that this place was just OK and I agree. I got the world best tacos. The beef was dry, the mango salsa was just a few chunks of canned mangos... gross. My husband and my 6yr old visited on a Wednesday nigh hoping that the crowd would be minimal - no such luck ( we barely had a place to sit while waiting). However much to our delight we were offered complimentary salsa and chips while waiting. Although the wait was a bit much - as we had already studied the menu - we were able to promptly place our order. The meal came out super quick and our waitress was extremely attentive to our table. She even swooped in to replace our half done drinks with new drinks - impressive. The waitress was very patient and warm to us when we were deciding on desert - suggesting the fried ice cream which was Devine! My son - normally a picky eater - ate his chicken burrito without complaint - and my husband and I were more than satisfied with our main meal. My chili relano was the best I have ever had! Wife and I tried the Frontera Grill Mexican restaurant while enjoying a Fall trip through the NE and were we pleasantly surprised at what we found. We lived in Louisiana for many years and spent a lot of time in Mexico and along the Mexican border in SW Texas. I read several Yelp reviews that questioned how authentic the Frontera Grill food was. I had the steak fajitas and the wife steak everything taco's. We also had the table made guacamole. I have to agree that I never had any beef in Mexico like what we had at Frontera Grill. Our beef was some of the most tender we've ever had anywhere. What you get in Mexico is as tough as leather. Fact is, very little you get at a Restaurant in Mexico has the quality of what Frontera Grill has. I can tell you my steak fajitas was as good or better then I have had anywhere! Include the chef we used in Mexico who was a great cook, but quality was less then Frontera because of the quality of food she had to work with. I give it a 5+. The wife said her taco's were as good as she ever had, and it contained the same beef my fajitas did. They get a 5. The guacamole was very good, although we added extra salt & pepper to ours. It get a 4. The chips and Sausa were very good (I added hot sauce to mine) and they get a 4+. The service was great! It gets a 5. The facility was very comfortable decorated very nice. It gets a 4+. The value gets a 5. I have paid much more at other Mexican restaurant's for inferior food. Would we go back? I wish we were still in town tomorrow evening so we could go back then. Try it out. We were off to a good start when the waiter told us that the chips were ok for someone with a nut allergy. Most Mexican restaurants that we've been to tell us that the chips are not safe for nut allergies, because the oil can be cross contaminated. The regular salsa was very good; just a bit spicy. They also provided mild salsa. The table-side guacamole was excellent. Throughout the meal, the service was fast, and the staff was friendly. They quickly refilled drinks, took orders, and served the food. They accidentally brought the kids rice and beans instead of french fries as ordered, but they quickly corrected that. Horrible service and rude staff! Our waitress Marlene was great but the rest of their staff was horrible! We got sandwiched in between two huge groups of people and in the middle of our dinner one of the groups pulled out a camera and started taking flash photographs of their group. Sitting right behind them this resulted in be being repeatedly blinded during most of my dinner due in part to my retinal disorder. I flagged down two staff members to ask them to deal with their guests and they just walked away. I finally was unable to deal with it anymore and tried to find a manager but their hostess Diane gave me a massive attitude. Meanwhile as I was standing at the hostess stand trying to pay my bill, my wife who went outside to get some air got chased down and accused of trying to skip out on the bill. Finally I paid my bill (with more attitude from Diane who was more worried about what people thought than about actually correcting their employees poor behavior) and went outside where their waitress apologized for their staff. I feel bad for her having to work in that type of environment, as I certainly would not work there and will not be back! This has to be the worst experience I've had at a restaurant, and that comes from a former FoH manager! read more

This has become one of my new favorite places within the past 6 months. My margaritas are always on point and the wait staff is very friendly. Amanda is an excellent bar tender, right on what you need when you need it. My favorite has to be the fresh guacamole made to order right in front of you but all the food is just as impressive. I always try something new when I go and still have yet to be disappointed. The mariachi band is a nice touch as well. Excellent first experience. Bottomless complimentary chips & salsa were great. We also had the queso dip, which is only $5 for a large portion and absolutely delicious! I had the spinach enchiladas as my entree. They were very good- packed with fresh spinach and cheese, served with rice, beans, pico de gallo, lettuce, and sour cream. The strawberry margarita was also yummy and a decent size for the price. To top it all off, the staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable. Will be back! read more
