We were in the area and decided to stop by. There is a small parking lot on the side. This is really just a grab and go. I was not ready for this place. It was very amazing. There was very well done cookies and very beautiful small cakes in a small refrigerator. The cupcakes looked amazing it's hard just to pick a few. They also had hamburger macaroons the most creative thing I've seen in a while. We got a few things and they were definitely 5 Stars. It's a little expensive but definitely worth every penny. I wasn't going to leave this review, but something in my spirit wants me to! I went to pick up an online order a gluten free pie to be exact. First let me just say I appreciate the fact that this business offers gluten-free options for somebody with celiac disease such as myself. However after ordering a $35 pie arriving to pick it up only to be treated as if I was a bother by a staff member. Two gentleman walked in about 9:50 AM so I assume they were open. I walk in after them wait my turn as the two gentlemen are now being serviced. When it's my turn they seem to have trouble even locating my online order even after giving them the last 4 digits of My order number and my name. The girl tells me, "oh they are working on the gluten free pies it'll be 5 mins" I tell her great no big deal I'll wait I'm not in a rush. When she finally has my order boxed up she called me to the counter and says well your order wasn't supposed to be picked up till 1 o'clock. I said that's incorrect and I have the order number right here on my phone to prove it. Then she says well you know we don't open till 10 o'clock anyway you were here early. My jaw dropped! I wanted to say well excuse me but if you weren't open why did you service the two gentlemen who walked in before me not telling them that they got here too early and you weren't open?? Needless to say I left there feeling as if my business was a bother. I did call and talk to the owner who gave me several excuses as to why this particular girl behaved the way she did. And promised to give them all a "pep talk" I can see now after reading of the reviews that this is something they typically do!! maybe not all the girls are rude but enough of them are to make you feel like your business is crap to them. For all the money they charge for a pie and a cupcake you would think they would go above and beyond in the customer service area. I recently purchased some keto cupcakes here and was a little disappointed. I expressed this to the shop and was pleasantly surprised with how great their customer service was. I gave them 4 stars because of the customer service, which to me is one of the most important aspects of a business. Customers have preferences when it comes to bakery items. I didn't like the texture or bitterness of the chocolate cupcake I purchased, but my sister loves bitter chocolate so it may have been perfect for her. Everyone has preferences, so it is difficult to eat the palate preferences of every individual customer. That being said, cupcake flavors change and recipes evolve. Often, customer service does not. I dont think that is an issue here. So I will try another flavor on another week and see how it goes. read more

The girl waiting on me was fine with it. Cakes in general is a a sin of biblical proportions for a health nut like me, eating one of this sinful goods translates to 20-30 minutes on that grueling stairclimber. Was the cupcakes here worth the pain? Yes and No. Was it good ? Yes, was it amazing ? Maybe... I bet your asking what do you mean? before I move on to critic the taste and texture, I am certainly impressed that they do offer vegan cupcakes choices and I am also happy to see that all their baked goods are freshly done daily. My personal philosophy is that everyone has their own taste when it comes to cupcakes (or any food, really). There can never truly be a "#1 best cupcake" because everyone likes different things (or multiple things). So when reading my review, proceed with caution as I am sharing the criteria of cupcake that I personally am fond of. The cakes here is certainly eye pleasing and perfectly decorated, to be honest I didn't even want to touch them at first, I just wanted to frame them in an eternal glass chamber and embrace its beauty everyday while imagining myself gorging that beauty. I actually tried the vegan Chocolate fudge for $3. The cake itself is moist, has a strong chocolaty flavor, sweetness is perfect (slightly sweet) while the texture is soft like pillows. The major issue I had was with the chocolate fudge frosting, it wasn't the look that I had an issue with because the look was gorgeous, it was the taste. The frosting actually has a smooth dense texture and was very chocolaty, it was actually almost perfect in taste, then the sweetness sets in, and that is where the experience sinks. The frosting was cloyingly sweet to the point it left a dry sensation in my mouth after eating the cupcake. If they fix that issue, by reducing the sweetness, their cake would actually be almost perfect. I do adore the service here, because the cashier is really friendly and helpful, yet not excessively chatty. Smiles was conveyed through out and I felt very welcome into this quaint store decorated in such shabby chic styled decor. The presentation of their cakes storage and store was ridiculously cute. Its very clean and inviting to be sitting here with friends. The cake offerings doesn't just stop at cupcakes, because they also offer french macarons $2.50, whole cakes, slices of cakes, cannoli and so much more. They are also the perfect venue for couples looking for a wedding cake, as they personalize cakes here. I would definitely return to this adorable cake shop located at the tower district. read more

This is such an awesome bakery for cakes & cupcakes. My fiance and I came here for a cake tasting for our wedding and they were on top of everything! As soon as we walked in our sample cakes were ready for us. They tasted amazing, we literally loved every single one of the flavors we tasted. Being from Los Angeles with my wedding in Bass Lake, I had no idea where to start with finding amazing vendors in the area. I was so impressed with the professional yet kind personalities of the employees, and we had such a fun tasting session with the owner and her daughter. The cakes were incredible and they were willing to work with us on different flavors and designs. Frosted Cakery has been a go to for me when I am looking for cupcakes. I tend to prefer cupcakes over cakes because there is no cutting involved so it minimizes potential messes and since they're already pre-portioned you might be able to minimize the waistline impact as well. Anyways, Frosted Cakery has some delicious cupcakes; I have ordered custom cupcakes, I have bought them straight from the storefront and I have also ordered them through UberEats when I can't find the time to drive all the way to the Tower District to get them myself. The cupcakes are always consistent in flavor, so I don't love it one time and dislike it the next, they are always beautiful, in fact our UberEats delivery person commented on how beautiful the cupcakes were. Personally, I don't like my deserts too sugary sweet so, I prefer to order them custom so that I can control the type and amount of frosting to an extent so it is something I will enjoy more. They have been a hit at every party, event and dinner I have bought them to. Cupcakes here are never a disappointment. They're not too expensive, around $3 each, and they're piled high with frosting if that's what you're into. They also have cookies, cake pops, and slices for sale, but their flavors vary daily. One of their more interesting offerings is the cupcake milkshake. I have yet to try it, but it looks delicious. I have to take a moment to rave about their Bordeux cupcake. It's easily the best flavor there and I could eat it on a daily basis. I am gonna prefice my review by saying their cupcakes are creative and tasty. My review is based on repeated business throughout the years. I remember when the cupcakes were a nice size. It seems as if they have shrunk over the passed couple of years but the prices have stayed the same or gone up. I don't think they can still call them cupcakes, they need to be referred to as mini cupcakes. I can literally eat a whole cupcake in one bite now.
