What's not to like? It's a two-sided burger takeout joint with pretty inexpensive fair. And it's all really good. Everything is made fresh to order. We ordered grilled onions, extra pickles, fry sauce on the side, every special order under the sun for seven people: no problem. And fast. Shakes were great, too. The workers were talkative and fun. Got a 1/2 lb double cheeseburger with grilled onions and a large fry. Prices made me a little nervous at first. HOWEVER, very impressed with the burger! Very good, cooked perfect, no dry but cooked through, plenty of grilled onions, mayo was on point, as was the rest of the items. a bit messy and greasy but that's the way i like it! fries were decent, nothing super special, but felt they were right for the price. It took a little bit longer than i was hoping for drive through, but given how good the burger was and that it was made to order, I'm ok with it. Also, i did notice how most of the guys making the food were very hairy, beards and long hair and such so it made me a bit nervous, but i didn't notice anything wrong at all with the food. service was very polite and nice, felt welcomed, which was surprising for a drive through only. i've read several negative posts, and either their expectations were not realistic or they happened to have a disgruntled employee. but my experience was great. read more

Sorry we tried it because of Yelp reviews. Mine will not be so kind. Although the service was fast and the food was okay I don't like soggy rubbery bacon on my bacon cheeseburger. I prefer crisp bacon the Tomato was not fresh the lettuce was kind of wilty the bun was really soggy and the fries well I can get those in McDonald's for a lot cheaper. The only thing this has going for it is fry sauce. I'm from Utah fry sauce is everywhere but I can buy a jar at WinCo and I'll be set for a while. We were in Auburn one morning and my 3 year old DEMANDED a cheeseburger at 11am so we hit up the Frugals drive thru since my daughter has never in life asked me for a cheeseburger out of the blue. I don't do fast food hardly ever but made an exception out of sheet curiosity. The food was pretty quick but definitely a step up from a normal fast food joint like a burger king or something... it tasted much better and my daughter ate her entire cheeseburger which is super out of character since she kinda just picks and eats smaller portions like snacks throughout the day. We would go back in a pinch as the food was good but like I mentioned, we don't do a lot of fast food so probably wouldn't be for a while. read more

As far as fast food goes in Auburn this is the spot. Great service & nice people. The burgers are are made fresh with fresh ingredients. Definitely a way better option than any other burger drive through within a 10 mile radius. The prices are also really very moderate. Frugals is strictly a drive thru burger and fries place, no indoor seating and no need to get out of your car. Their burgers are good and cheap, fries are only ok. Great shakes and the burgers more than make up for the lacking fries. They take credit cards now too which helps out. The service is fast and there is a place to park, eat and then throw away the grease soaked bags. Did I mention that the burgers are good...try the bacon cheese, I think it's #3. read more

Came by Frugal for the very first time ordered my burgers, fries and a milkshake. Ate the burgers and definitely took me back to when I was a kid. Had the blt sandwich and the bacon was in the salty side, but overall quick service with yummy food. The fries are to die for as well as their milkshakes which they have 2 flavors of the month. The prices on the photos in yelp are a little outdated, but everything is still reasonably priced as I got 3 burgers 2 large fries and 1 med milkshake at right around $20.
