Ironically, I'm usually here for coffee, and well it's because they make a hidden star. The Vietnamese coffee ice blend is a cold coffee drinker's dream. Ice cold, and strong, when you don't have time to sip a hot cup, you want an option that is both. This place opened 6 weeks ago and is a cute and small shop specializing in juices and smoothies. They have loose leaf teas on display so you can smell them too! The peach one smelled really good. They also have tiny desserts that are Italian made. The lady working there is really nice and friendly. We had the "make your own smoothie" and added a bunch of fruits. It was yummy. We also tried the chicken wrap and it had Asian flavorings. For dessert, we tried a trio of the cappuccino, raspberry mousse, and gluten free panna cotta. The panna cotta was surprisingly the best! If you check-in after 5pm, the mini desserts are buy 2 get one free. We saw her cutting up some mangoes, so we decided to get another smoothie! Came here and they ran out of Boba. Great start. I ordered an watermelon Boba slush with coconut milk sans Boba, and an Assam black tea with coconut milk again, because as it turns out they ran out of organic milk as well. They both came out and I swear I could've made this myself. When they brought the Assam milk tea all they did was mix watery tea with carton coconut milk. The slush was just watermelon with the same carton coconut milk. Overall, this place is not tasty, not worth it, and I will never be coming here again. read more

Before I begin this review, let me just say that the ladies who work here are very nice and friendly! This review is just for the boba - honeydew green tea slush: this was disappointing unfortunately. I love love honeydew slushes if I'm not getting just regular tea. This one was not very flavorful and while I appreciated that it was not overly sweet, it was not something that I would come back for - boba: this was very good. Just the right amount of sweetness and chewiness All in all, not a place I would come for a bubble tea fix but may come try the other things off the menu in the future. read more

I was in La Jolla for business and I was STARVING. I walked into the first place I saw... so begins my adventure here. First Impressions: Very hospital like feel. It tries to be trendy but it just looks empty. The Menu: Holy expensive batman. A SMALL juice was 5 dollars. I was not impressed with what was available and I was certainly not happy to see how much it was going to cost me. But, I was desperate. The service: The service was actually excellent. They were polite, friendly and attentive. When delivering the small juice I ordered she said "I hope you love it" One would guess that she was an owner because the deliver was very kind and sincere. The drink: It was actually very tasty. Good blend of flavors and well constructed. I got the Stress Relief Juice. If you're there, I do recommend this drink. I really enjoyed the small serving of it I was able to buy. Overall Impressions: I personally think it is over priced for what you get. Having said that, the service is good and so is the product. So if the cost to you is worth it you'll be treated well and have something that tastes good in the end. read more

This is a must visit place if you are walking the shops along La Jolla cove. My husband and I love boba. This place has high quality ingredients and great tasting slushes. This is my new favorite place to get work done on Sundays (when parking in downtown La Jolla isn't limited). It's bright, airy, and the atmosphere doesn't make me mind so much about being stuck inside on a gorgeous weekend. There's good wi-fi, lots of plugs for your computer, and plenty of seating. I also like the cushions and pillows on the benches. Very comfortable. The prices are a bit high, but right in line with everything else in this area. For specific menu items, the acai bowls are big and extremely filling. The egg in a basket is not at all what I was expecting from the menu description, but it's a tasty bite of protein. The smoothies are made with ice, so they're thinner than I would like; I'd pass on those. The salads are gorgeous though. The owner is very nice. We sit in her shop for hours, not buying anything new and her reaction is to bring us samples. Yum! read more

My friends and I came here of course for their Acai Bowl. We got a Coconut Acai Bowl & PB Acai Bowl. I really enjoyed the coconut one since I love coconut. It came with strawberries, mango, bananas, granola & shredded coconut. The PB one, which came with blueberries, strawberries, bananas & granola, was also surprisingly good. I'm not a huge fan of PB & thought it would taste a little weird, but I liked it. It's a cute, clean little spot and everyone working was really nice. Fruittitude has a lot of attitude towards their fruit! This place comes with a great California vibe of fresh fruits and vegetables served to people via bubble tea, smoothies, juices, and shaved ice. Upon this weekend blistering heat in La Jolla, we decided to cool down with a nice drink from Fruittitude. Let's say that it did its job and tasted great! DRINKS: I got the mango smoothie. I will have to say that often, smoothies can have that artificial taste or too much ice. This smoothie was just right on the natural fruit sweetness, crushed ice quantity to remain cold, and of the right quantity. My sister-in-law loved her bubble tea and would like to shout out on their great tea! This place also had desserts and some other foods, but it looks more popular for it's delightful drinks! I came here for boba and was disappointed with the texture of the it. It was too soft and was clumping together. At one point when the tea wasn't coming through I looked to see and there were 4 balls stuck together...No wonder! Also, when I went to grab a napkin, they were out and I had to ask for one. The only thing I liked about this place was that the girl who took my order was nice and ensured that she made my drink to the right sweetness, which she did. This place is really adorable. I think it's new. It's clean and fresh-faced. And it has a lot of promise but it missed the mark for me on that fourth star. I was drawn in by the boba. I actually came two days in a row. The staff here is super friendly and nice. It wasn't busy but it looks like a nice place to read and relax. They have boba, coffee, fresh juice, and more. Plus some cute little cakes and things. Take 1: Ordered a taro tea boba with soy milk and extra boba. I also purchased a nii bar for later. The boba was good and plentiful. But the taro milk tea was plain. Actually, it just tasted like soy milk. At least I had a ton of boba to quell my pain. Take 2: I really wanted more boba and I'm not familiar with La Jolla so I came back. Thai tea boba this time and it was much, much better. It took a two star experience to a three star experience easily. My friend ordered a fresh juice that he really liked. So that's nice to hear. Maybe it was an off day for the taro but I was pretty bummed. Hopefully if I go there again they'll have a fresh batch that's chock full of that delicious taro flavor. read more

If not counting the UCSD area, Fruittitude is the only boba shop in La Jolla. This is a void that has needed to be filled for a long time, and I'm glad they were the ones to do so. However, being in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in San Diego has allowed Fruittitude to be much more upscale than your average TapEx. I came on a fairly hot day looking for a way to cool down. I was instantly greeted by the owner, who had the most genuine sincere smile on her face. Their selection of traditional milk and fruit tea is limited, but they have a multitude of other options. After a long time spent thinking, the owner approached me and asked if I'd like to give a watermelon slush with boba a try. You can't go wrong with watermelon, so I easily gave in. Incredibly refreshing, not too sweet and made with care. I never thought pearls would fit so well with watermelon. They use all fresh ingredients and have an expansive food menu as well. Cute pastries, desserts and many other things. Almost reminds me of the numerous modern coffee & tea shops sprouting up in Seoul. Fantastic employees and delicious drinks. I had a great experience at this place today. I came 15 min before closing so the place was empty. But Adrian was so inviting and so sweet. He hooked me up with a smile on his face. He also told me that they have food. Tues and wed- sushi Thurs and fri - spicy rice bowl Sat through Monday they don't have specials Your going to love this place. They have acai bowls, juice, espresso drinks, smoothies, pastries and they are the only place in La Jolla who have boba drinks. I didn't try it but they even had fresh watermelon juice. I opted for the greenspiration fresh juice. Mamma had way too many drinks last night and needed some major hydration. I also had a ginger pineapple shot that was soooooo good that it almost took me back to an island with clear blue waters. But that may have also been inspired by the fact that I needed water. Lol. Either way I love this place already. Can't wait to come back to try the acai bowl. Bravo! read more

The woman who worked there (I'm guessing she was the owner) was helpful and friendly. We didn't love the juice and slush we ordered but that's on us for ordering the wrong things. Being super sweet, hubby ordered me a watermelon slush, which was delicious (I should have taken a picture of her using an ice cream scooper to dish it into the blender), but he made the mistake of getting boba in it when I personally don't like boba. If you are a boba fan, they give you a lot! Hubby ordered green juice which he thought needed ice (not cold enough). I thought the juice was fine. And then she have us samples of a new green juice with orange, which was delicious. We should have ordered that. Restroom was clean, and there's free wifi :) read more

Based on the name alone, I would have never guessed that Fruittitude would be home to one of my all-time favorite coffee beverages. We came in for the juice drink, and the Greeninspiration is definitely worth a try. However, as an afterthought I inquired about the coffee drinks, and the charming lady behind the counter suggested I try their sea salt coffee. Now, some people like sea salt on everything: crisps, caramel, chips...but coffee? After a quick pit stop to the bathroom (possibly the cleanest bathroom I've ever stepped foot in), I collected our order and took one sip of the coffee. Actually, my wife took the first sip, but I've pretty much gotten used to that by now...in any event, I can't describe how good this was, especially compared to some of the popular chains. Not overly sweet or bitter, and just the perfect balance of caramel and coffee. During our three-day stay in La Jolla, we stopped in twice. The bright, open space is beautifully designed, and there is plenty of street parking. read more
