This is my second time at Fumo however I visited their other location in Harlem where I usually would get their pizzas. This was my first time at the upper west side location. The service was just as Great. Food was delicious. Make sure to tell them exactly how you would like your dish cooked. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is great for a celebration or something more intimate the cocktails and mocktails are also very refreshing I would come back for a happy hour. I got the Grapefruit Spritz which was pretty refreshing for the warm weather. For apps, I got the Truffle Fries and the Fried Mozz. I've been a few times to Fumo on 139th st and stopped here on a whim early Sunday afternoon. It's a really cute interior space, and the staff are fast and friendly. Taking a couple stars off here because the hollandaise sauce was cold and split. But the eggs were poached perfectly, and the dressing on the salad is really tasty. My friend took me here while visiting to have authentic Italian in New York City! The $12 special is the noteworthy experience to have! Choosing way to have is the hardest choice. I ended up going with the penne vodka and I loved it! The flavor was amazing! We had a wonderful server who checked in us often even though they were busy. I had the baked ziti with chicken and it was super cheesy and a generous amount. The truffle fries were good and crispy. As far as drinks, I had the Gladys and wasn't that big of a fan of the after taste it gives. I arrived around 4pm and by 5:30pm, the place was filled. They do take reservations. The meatballs were soooo good; it came with 4 meatballs which was filling for one person. I loved the house red, which was a Chianti, light bodied and easy to drink. The service was outstanding! They did give complimentary bread which was perfect to dip in the extra sauce from my meatballs. We also ordered the penne alla vodka $19 which was great! I visited Fumo UWS on Tuesday afternoon @2:30 pm with my 12 year old daughter and 4 year old son since they're off for spring break. I must say the service was horrible, the waiter wasn't polite or welcoming. I went in for the pasta lunch special and an aperol spritz. My bill was $44... the service was so bad I left a $2 tip in cash. This morning I wake up to an added $5 tip on my credit when I had specifically put a $0 on the receipt before signing. Very disappointed and disrespectful. Which means the restaurant itself added a $5 to my bill the audacity. And this is why I usually use cash bc not only was the service bad but the waiters or whoever is at the register is adding tips unknowingly to the bills. I'm sure it isn't the first time. read more
