Anyone giving Game n' Grounds less than 5 stars is a liar or a fool. This place is perfect. The atmosphere is inviting, and the decor is artsy and warm. I feel like I'm in a loved one's comfy, airy home. I love the skylights and wide windows letting all that natural sunlight in. The local artwork is also an inviting touch. The service is awesome: everyone is friendly, cheerful, and helpful. There is a man with glasses who is especially great - I'm not sure if he's the owner of Game n' Grounds. The menu is delightfully themed, and the food and drink are surprisingly delicious for a cafe. (I'm used to cafes serving great coffee but average everything else.) I'm happy they have such a great selection for non-caffeine drinkers such as myself. This is a paradise for people who love games! They have an expansive selection from which to choose, as well as new games available for you to buy and take home. I'm not sure how Game n' Grounds operates without a cover charge, but I hope everyone comes and supports it to keep it thriving forever! On a personal note, I live all the way in Los Angeles and have to drive 60 miles round trip, but I still come once a week. It's that awesome. I wish there was one closer to where I live! read more

ohmygosh! i can not rave more about the details! the vibe is welcoming. the atmosphere feels like a homey designer living room. Such functional working and gaming tables. Such a cute spot to hang around! Great for studying or hanging out. I didn't try their food but their vanilla latte was delicious. They have a lot of space around. The building has 2 big sections. One is directly connected to where you order while the other area is where all the games are set up. Really enjoyed the concept of this cafe. It's a perfect coffee shop and game shop rolled into one and I loved how you can order your food and drink and also play games! It's also connected to a fun store full of board games to purchase. I ordered the horchata latte and Mexican mocha. Both are available iced. A couple things to note are the price of the drinks are a little high for the size (-6-7 for a 12 ounce size) and also there isn't easy parking. Otherwise loved the theme and the ambiance. read more

I love this place, it's my go-to with friends whether we're playing games or coworking together. The ambience is relaxing and fun and the employees and other patrons are extremely friendly and welcoming. They have all kinds of cool events really frequently. It's a great "third place". I've heard the coffee is great but the food has been pretty disappointing. If I know I'm gonna be there for a while I try to eat beforehand and go with someone who is gonna grab coffee or something (if not, I'll buy something small). I love this place and want to support them, but I really wish they'd use fresh ingredients. It's hard for me to justify paying for their food items. read more

My partner and I love coming to Game N Grounds! It's one of the few spots in Southern California that really compares to the board game cafes in Canada, where they're super popular. Honestly, this place might even be better--the service is amazing, the food is delicious (on par with some of our favorite brunch places), and the board game selection is always fun and well-maintained. My fav coffee shop... and my fav game store! Very family friendly. Filled with local art, too. Love the Misty Step (it's like a London Fog). The food is great, the staff is so nice, and it's got comfy ambiance. You can also purchase gifts and game supplies. I got a really pretty set of Critical Hit Collectibles dice here. Love this spot~! They make you feel kind of awkward to be honest. This is my second time in each time it was the same feeling. Everything is over priced! Drink pricing does not make sense... 12oz is a "regular"size and starts at $6, the "large" is 16oz and is like $7.50 -$8.50 and, the "large" drink doesn't have any more espresso added than the small so to add a shot was another $1.50....at the end of the day my large 16oz drink with and add shot was $10.50....way too much. My Drink wasn't bad, but honestly, wasn't anything special. I hate to compare, but I can get at 24oz drink at other coffee shops with an add shot and Oatmilk and it's still $2 less ‍ For the pricing and quality and experience, wouldn't go back. I was highly offended by Manny, the manager, who continually harassed me when a game fell on the floor. He told me that I had to pay for it because the box had a slight imperfection when it fell. After being repeatedly berated by him, I finally left. In addition, table reservations are not honored, the service is slow and without notice, management closes for meetings at the peak of the lunch hour. read more

This is one of my favorite coffee and game places. Their coffee (and tea and other kind) drinks are delightfully themed and well-made. Their pastries are delightful, and their food is impressive for a coffee and table-top joint. The decor and vibes are chill but nerdy, without it feeling cramped or dusty (like in some tabletop stores, admittedly). Everything is well-lit and clean. Their table-top room is vast, they have a ton of games to rent for the day, or purchase -- I'd say they rival even some table-top stores in diversity. Well, first and foremost I was looking for a new jawn that would have some bussin food and coffee (aka gamer fuel). On my search for this, I stumbled across game n grounds. My my my, what a perfect place for a swaglet like me. Me and my colleague strutted into this fine establishment, where we were greeted by an assortment of fanstasmical games. We both had the breakfast sandwich (it was quite scrumptious indeed). The coffee was also pretty wonderous. After finishing my meal, it made my stomach ponder into the depths of despair. Walking around after this monstrosity was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life (second to beating the final boss in Elden Rings Shadow of the Erdtree DLC). I heard about this place from some co-workers. This place is pretty unique and caught my eye because I love playing board games. I often have game night with a group of friends, my partner and I decided to check it out before we brought our friends. We came in on a Saturday morning at 11 am and it was not super busy but a good amount of people. Their menu is on the wall and does not have a lot of details and does not match their online menu. I ordered the horchata latte which is pricey but good and my partner got the nitro cold brew which he also enjoyed. Along with that my partner ordered the turkey panini and I ordered the breakfast panini. Overall the food was good but I was little bothered that my panini was not pressed, which is the major factor that makes a sandwich a panini. The biggest reason I gave them three stars was the customer service. When we entered we ordered our food and wanted to play a game while we waited for our drinks/food. We entered the game room and browsed, and we wanted to play a game but a staff member was suppose to help us check it out. Their was only one staff member in the game room and she was very invested in helping a family learn a game which is great but we waited around for 15 min for her to step away for a moment but no luck. We had to go to the cafe section wait 10 min and ask the cashier to help us check out a game. After eating we wanted to play a little more and we wanted to order two more drinks and there was about 4 people around the counter and people in the kitchen and I waited for someone to take my order but everyone kept avoiding me. Someone easily could have said give us 10 min, the kitchen is backed up. But I just stood their behind the cash register for 10 min until I just looked at my partner who was also confused why no one would take my order and we decided to just leave after that. This place has a great concept but for it to really take off they need to have way better customer service for me to feel like I can build community and keep coming back. read more

We freaking love this place. My husband and I hold a special place in our hearts for places where you can dine AND game. Not only is everything we've tried so far DELICIOUS (the cheese danish is a favorite of my husband's) but the coffee is always incredible. The names are fun, the vibes are so cozy, welcoming (queer friendly ), and relaxing. The staff are always knowledgable, kind, and do a great job with service. We never have to wait long and they bring your order directly to you. Pick out a game to play from their available options, or buy one of the team's picks!
