Decent cheesesteak and fries. I would go again. There are a couple of notable spots and few standouts that can nail it, since SD isn't the first thought when mentioning cheesesteak. Among the circle of wagons at the Friday night Mission Valley gathering, I decided on Gameday. My cheesesteak wit Whiz, peppers, and onions hit the spot as well as the chili cheese fries. Wow - never again. I waited in line for a very long time in line for this food truck which was parked out back at an event, and all the while I was staring at pictures of philly cheese steaks, burgers, chicken wings with multiple kinds of sauces, and so on. When I get to the window, I'm informed that they have a 'limited selection menu' this evening which consists of hot dogs, corn dogs, and their famous 'Blimp Dog' ... which the woman told me was a dog with kraut on top, cheese, and so on. I almost never eat hot dogs but since that and french fries were the only choice, and food trucks are generally supposed to be premium experiences, I went ahead and ordered that since it appeared to be a signature, named item. When the dog came up, it was a cheap wonder bread white bun, a nasty cheap thin hot dog with liquid nacho cheese and chopped onions on it. No kraut anywhere. I couldn't believe it. I took one bit of it, tasted the movie theatre nacho cheese on the top and the middle of a low quality hot dog... and was stunned. This nasty hot dog makes a dog at a Padres game seem like a kobe beef combination unicorn sausage that was handed down from Asgard by Odin himself. read more

Of all the food trucks that used to come to my old office off Telesis Court, this was one of my favorites. I usually go with their burgers and add a side of fries (they usually have a deal where you add fries to any order for 2-3 dollars, and they were pretty generous with the portion). Hard to describe, but there's nothing special to the burger, yet it was quite delicious. Juicy meat and fresh veggie toppings. Their fries on the other hand, are the best I've had. Perfect amount of crisp (in my opinion) to the fries without being shoe-string size. I'm just a bit bummed that they won't be coming to my new workplace. read more

This food truck comes around once a week in my neck of the woods, and I definitely partake more than not. First - Price is standard for SD food trucks, so you'll spend $10+ for a hotdog and fries. Second - Flavor is good. I've only tried the Pigskin, a hotdog wrapped in bacon, with grilled onions, mustard, and relish. You can add on other toppings, but it's good the way it is. Their fries are also tasty, great blend of crispy outside and fluffy inside. As an added throwback to youth, sometimes they even have Big League Chew bubble gum! I think some of the other less favorable reviews may have gone to them on special event days when they had a limited menu, or did a last minute run, and I would suggest if they come by during the week, give them another chance. read more

I ate here at the North Park World Cup event. 5 food trucks at the event and all had lines EXCEPT this one. Should have heeded that warning but being in a hurry to get food and get back to my seat before someone stole it was a big factor in my decision. I want to first make it known that the employees are super nice and friendly. I got fries and a cheeseburger and my total was $12.41 and before I handed the employee my twenty he said scratch that, lets make it $12 even. Awesome right!? Well, that is just about the only positive of my experience there. I LOVE cheeseburgers. Love them! The burger I got had no seasoning on it. It was literally a meat patty and the cheese wasn't even melted on to the burger which I thought was really bizarre. The burger was literally something I could cook at my house myself on my George Foreman grill and I think I could actually make my burger better (and this is coming from someone who rarely cooks). $8 for a generic burger is absolutely ridiculous no matter how you look at it. My mom also got a burger and asked for it to be well-done and she was given a rare burger. Again, not many people in line so there is no reason to not complete orders as tasked. I think their fries are awful. But I also think In & Out has horrible fries (not worse than this place) so take that into consideration. In & Out has bomb burgers though...but I digress. Gameday Eats fries are very unattractive looking (a darker brown color, shriveled, semi burnt) and tasted a little better then they looked. They also didn't have salt on them but I can't say for sure whether or not they had a station there where salt and condiments could be applied so that could be my fault. And they cost $4! I hadn't eaten since yesterday morning so I was starving when I got this food and mostly anything tastes good when you are super hungry. And I didn't think it was possible to not find a cheeseburger and fries enjoyable/appetizing (especially on an empty stomach) but I was wrong. And for that they get 1 star. They hit my wallet hard, gave me mediocre/bad food, and crushed the perfect image I had of the greatest American meal of burger and fries. I won't say to avoid this place but get something else on their menu or you will be sorely disappointed. read more

They were parked outside of Qualcomm before a SDSU football game and I got the gameday philly. It was good, extremely hot and pretty spicy. It was a great bite to get before going into te game and eating the horrible and expensive food in Qualcomm. read more

Had an opportunity to try this food truck as they were parked outside Societe Brewing Co. As I walked up to the window, I was greeted by one of the owners of the operation (Dave) who was incredibly friendly, inviting, and, best of all, excited about the food they were serving. That's a good sign. After chatting with him about where they source their ingredients and how much pride they put into making the best Philly cheesesteak possible, I decided I just had to get one. I ordered their Gameday Philly ($9), which is a bit of a spicy, peppery twist on a classic philly. I also couldn't resist ordering an order of their chili cheese fries ($7). Ordered placed, I grabbed a couple more beers, got my food, went back to my table, took a bite, and nearly lost my damn mind. My friend and I looked at each other, and I KNOW neither of us wanted to say it, but we did... "This might be the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had." The meat was seasoned beautifully and perfectly tender. The peppers and sauteed mushrooms gave a depth and spice to the sandwich that I hadn't previously experienced with lesser cheesesteaks. Best of all, the the roll was soft and the bread-to-meat ratio was just about perfect. The chili cheese fries were also good, but not nearly as good as the cheesesteak. I could have done with a crunchier fries and they just don't serve my style of chili -- I feel like chili is something a lot of people take very personally, and I'm no exception. Still, I didn't have any trouble eating the whole damn thing. These guys are great and I'll definitely be looking for them around town again when I'm jonesing for a good cheesesteak. So today on my lunch break, my friend and I decided to skip our normal lunch place and try out this food truck that parks @Telesis Court sometimes. I'm so glad we did. The truck itself has a sports theme and being a former high school basketball coach, I found this to be imedieltly attractive. There was a bit of a line as it was lunch time but I must say I didn't wait long and the staff was friendly and courteous. But what this review is really about is the food. My friend and I both had the Gameday Philly Cheese Steak and there really cool "salt aged" fries. The Philly Cheese Steak was for lack of better words a "Homerun" I don't think I could get a better one if I resided in Philly. The fries were crispy, salty and delicious. I think I speak for my friend also in saying I'll definetly be looking for this truck again. read more

I NEVER ever write a review, but this particular sandwich was SO GOOD that I just had to do a Google search for this food truck and write a review for them. I went to Mission Brewery to celebrate a friend's birthday. They don't have food inside the brewery and since this food truck was right outside the door (literally steps away), I went around 7 to get something to eat. Unbeknownst to me, they had already closed! I was starving and exclaimed loudly, noooooo...My heart broke bc I was really hungry. They were standing outside when I exclaimed that and so they helped me look to see if there were other vendors or other food options around. (There weren't any) So since I was starving, they opened their business up **just for me** and the main guy said he could make me a chicken salad sandwich since everything was put away already. He told me what was in it (the usual) and he said they add cranberries and it's super delicious. I went inside to wait for it and they came and delivered it to me right to my table! He also gave me a super nice compliment as he delivered it - called me the prettiest girl in the room. That made him get five stars, hahaha. He may say that to everyone, but who doesn't like being complimented?? Lol. Anyway, he was NOT exaggerating that it was delicious because that was THE BEST SANDWICH OF MY LIFE. I had asked the birthday boy if he wanted one, he passed on the offer and immediately regretted it when he took a bite from mine. It was perfectly toasted, it had just the right amount of chicken, just the right amount of crunch, it was simply PERFECTION. I wish I remembered the specifics of every ingredient that was in it, but we gobbled it up so quickly that I didn't stop to make note of what exactly was in it. The next day, I am STILL day dreaming about that sandwich and how everyone should taste it in their lifetime. I'm not too fond of sandwiches, but I was hungry and that's what he could make me so I said okay. Best decision ever. My view on sandwiches has forever changed. They were always kinda boring to me and a waste of space in my belly, but not this one! My heart got sewn back together after the first bite and was bursting at the seams as I kept eating it! Was seriously something to write home about. I'm reading the other reviews and can only imagine what the rest of their food tastes like. It's heaven in your mouth and I can't wait to go back for more food! I only wish my review could do that sandwich justice and hopefully convey how delicious it really was.
