Tonight we checked out Burger Bros and WOW... so good. I ordered the Deuce burger with pickles, lettuce, and grilled onions--absolutely delicious. The fries were just as good (honestly, a huge portion... I couldn't even finish them). I also tried their root beer, and it wasn't your typical chain soda--it had a unique flavor and was really good (and that's saying a lot because we rarely drink soda). What I thought was really cool is that during the day it's a breakfast spot, and at 5 PM it switches over to burgers. The owner was super chill, friendly, and really attentive. We ordered at a kiosk, but he still came by, brought our drinks, and made sure we were taken care of. You can tell he cares about the experience. There was a steady flow of people coming in and out, and it looked like a lot of regulars were ordering ahead on the app--which is always a good sign. Price-wise, I paid about $15 for a burger, fries, and a drink, which felt totally reasonable for the quality and portion size. Now, for full honesty--my husband (who is VERY critical about burgers ) said his was good but a little too cheesy for his taste and gave it a 4/10. Meanwhile, my daughter LOVED hers and couldn't stop eating... until she hit the same wall I did with the fries being too much! As for me? Easy 5 stars. So flavorful and delicious! Their ground beef taco was okay. It was pretty oily and the seasoning was fine. If you're a fan of ground beef, I suppose you could get. Their best is definitely the tri-tip tacos. Service is quick when they aren't busy, but this location can get pretty busy during lunch. They also have really good deals on their tacos and other items depending on the day. I want to try their tri-tip burritos as I love it in their tacos. The place is decorated very minimally. I've only ever tried the spot on Alhambra, but they have locations in Roseville and Elk Grove. Be aware that they close pretty early at the Alhambra location.

Got to chat with Jamaela a bit about her spot (it's been here for 7 years now!) and you can tell she cares for the quality of the food she puts out as well as the patrons that stop by. Service was great and attentive while we were sitting at the bartop. This is definitely a hole in the wall spot, but the taste of the food shines and will surprise ya. To top it off, while we were still eating, our waitress brought over the payment device, and her attitude remained just as unpleasant as when we first sat down. It made us feel like she couldn't wait for us to leave rather than wanting us to enjoy our meal. I understand we came in close to closing time, and I always respect that employees want to finish their shift. But if a restaurant is still open and seating guests, I believe those customers should receive the same level of hospitality as anyone who came in earlier. I haven't experienced rude workers, they've always been nice and helpful with answering questions, but I think because of how busy they get sometimes things are forgotten (extra napkins or more sugar for example). Everything I've ordered has been delicious with generous portions. My favorite item so far is the chilaquiles. I love that it comes with bean and rice, a grilled jalapeño, and a delicious cut of meat. Recently came with friends and everyone ordered a different dish that turned out great. We ordered the chicken and waffle, roosters omelette, gringo skillet, Santa Fe omelette, and chilaquiles, and mimosas! All the food was good and filling, and the mimosas were delicious and beautiful. Definitely will continue coming back, but really want to try their location on the river next.
