The patty was cooked with a slight pink -- exactly how it should be -- juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The spring lettuce was an interesting switch from the usual, but it actually worked and gave the burger a fresh bite. It's a solid-sized burger too, definitely filling. Only minor thing was some of the cheese slid off, but nothing that took away from it overall. I also tried the Caesar salad. It didn't come with croutons (not sure if that's intentional), and while the dressing was evenly coated, the Parmesan was a bit heavy and ended up overpowering the rest. Not bad, just not as balanced as it could be. What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It's put together in a way that makes you forget you're even in the city -- relaxed, comfortable, and easy to settle into. Service was easily a 10/10. Attentive without being overbearing, respectful, and genuinely friendly -- the kind of staff that makes the experience better without trying too hard. Overall, a really solid spot. I'd come back without hesitation.

Items are a little more expensive but they're farm fresh ingredients that fill you up. I would recommend trying miso sesame shitake cold noodles and add an extra egg. My friend and I were sharing and they were kind to split it up for us in our own bowls. The noodles were chewy and the ponzu sauce added a lightness to the savory sesame. Veggies were fresh and added the crunch needed to the dish. They had tasty kombuchas in their fridge too - nice to pair with the noodles! Surprisingly they own the seating on the patio as well so you can grab a nice view while you wait for your order. They bring it out to you but you need to buss it back downstairs afterwards. But they do have excellent customer service and and will transfer a jug from Barbur to Whole Foods for me. They also sell Arz labne which I can't find anywhere else convenient in Portland. Certainly not at a conventional grocery store. They also sell all kinds of other international groceries like giant jars if dolmas, lavash, the best chocolate bars. I could go on and on. Walking the aisles makes me feel like I'm in a different country and it's fun. There's not much in the way of parking. Most people in the Pearl probably walk there. I know I do. Like many others, I lean towards their IPAs and being an east coast native it's so nice to have their fresh squeeze style IPAs so abundant here. The food has always been good here. I've tried a few of their offerings, burgers, salads and the like. Never had a bad bite to eat. The interior is nice and spacious but this place can get crowded especially during the summer with tourists as it's location is ideal if you're visiting downtown. If I had one wish for this place it would be for some better outdoor seating as most of it is just strung along their storefront out on the sidewalk. That works for me, especially on days I just want to munch, sip and people watch.

Mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. Gravy was rich and well-seasoned. Collard greens were so tasty. The balance of textures was just perfection. I ended up having to pack up a piece of chicken because it was so much food, but I enjoyed every bite I was able to take of my meal. She asked me if I wanted the white gravy or the brown gravy and asked her what was her recommendation. She said try both and I was glad that I listened to her. It was Rich. It was creamy. It was flavorful. Its homemade and it was huge. I would definitely recommend this place. If you wanna have breakfast I'm from California and I wish there were something like this.
