This is the first time that I have felt the need to post a review. I come to this place often, and have never had an issue until last night. My friend and I walked into the store at 8:50pm on 10/03/24, while the door was open. There were two people who were working: one young woman in her 20s, and another man in his 30s who had a beard and a French mustache. The man blatantly ignored us asking for samples and kept trying to rush us into ordering. After asking for the third time he gave my friend a sample of lemon ice cream and pistachio in the same sample stick so that it would save time which goes against their safety standards at the risk of cross contamination. Afterwards he put one flavor and when we were about to tell him the second one, he immediately shoved the ice cream into our face and tried to move on to the next order. His coworker, the women even had to apologize for his behavior to us quietly so that he wouldn't hear. I hope management takes this employee's attitude into account, and gives an end to his job. He made both my friend and I not feel welcome at this shop. People like this shouldn't be working at such an elite establishment in a first-class city. read more

After dinner on Coronado, we had to walk over to Orange Ave to get some gelato from here. There are well over a dozen tasty flavors for all palates to choose from. Fair pricing here. Not much else to say about Gelato Paradiso though. It's pretty straight forward for wanting a tasty treat after dinner. The facility was very clean with bowls, napkins and spoons to be able to sit down and dine-in with my gelato. It's almost nice not to have people so crowded with this distancing opening now. As we go through phases, the businesses have to get used to it and the consumers do too as we were stuck in our homes for so long and now we are slowly able to socialize a little more each day per the county. What's surprising? Both gelato paradiso spots I have visited have amazing options and an amazing staff. There was one guy running the shop (from what I could see) when I arrived and he was such a joy to have as a helper. I will always stop by when I am in the area! Love the forest fruit, it's alike to a raspberry sorbet. He recommended a chocolate dipped strawberry flavor that reminds me exactly of that (but was too overwhelming for me to have). Awesome ice cream shop but it was roughly 19 dollars for three cones so be prepared for that. Well worth it to try here and there though! read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! First off they have cakes on display that they have none of to sell, next we proceeded to order gelato, my 6 year old wanted the Oreo gelato and wanted one of the cookies on top so we kindly asked if they could put one if the Oreos on top and they said "NO, that's only for garnish" and that they're "not at that portion of the gelato yet " for them to give it to us (mind you it was literally one spoon away. We asked if they have any in the back that they could put on top and again the answer was "NO, we don't do toppings". So we told them we didn't want the order anymore and as we were walking out the rude girl had the nerve to yell "tell me what you're worth" with her back turned towards us. Worst place ever!!! After having lunch and walking around The Del, I told my mom, "hey let's stop by that gelato place and get a scoop! I am so glad we did! This quaint little shop reminded me of a gelato place that I've visited in Miami and Coconut Grove! The display is amazing! I was here today around lunch time. No one around in the store but my wife and I. Perfect! I took my time since we have never been here. We both got a piccolo cup with three different flavers. I went nuts! I ordered dark chocolate hazelnut, mint chip and dark chocolate . Let me tell ya this is so damn good ! You all must try this place when you are in Coronado if your in the mood for some gelato. I'm rating this place from other gelato places I have eatten at . The last time I had Gelato was in Carlsbad at Gaia Gelato ( yes I have a post on that place too) This today however in my opinion was 100 x better ! Yes, you read that right 100 x better .......This was probably the best Gelato I've had in a long time. Totally worth the 5 stars I gave it on top of really good customer service ( thank you !) Now the price for two Piccolo cups came to $ 9.70 they were $ 4.85 each. Yes more expensive than regular ice cream but Gelato is a totally different ballgame. This place opened in December 2017. They have a decent selection of gelato. The great thing is they allow 4 scoops in a small cup. That's more flavor packed in than most places. I like variety so it's nice to have the contrast. Looking forward to going back. read more
