I came here on a Sunday afternoon And there was barely any lines and we were surf right away. Everybody working with super nice and friendly and patient as you looked over all the different flavors that they had. Parking is relatively consistent with the rest of Main Street, with a lot of street parking. I got a cone with three flavors, double chocolate, Pana cotta, and strawberry cheesecake. The strawberry cheesecake stood out as the flavors were very light and refreshing, coupled with the chocolates goodness. Can't believe it's taken me so long to discover this place for gelato! I tried several flavors, and all of them had that authentic texture and creaminess level you'd find in Italy (I really only visited Milan for a couple days and sometimes pretend like I know more than I do). I ordered a small size (portions here are huge!) of the coffee flavor and the dark chocolate hazelnut. The coffee gelato is pretty strong, just the way I like it! And the dark chocolate hazelnut has small chunks of nuts in there but they mesh well with the flavor/texture. They scooped the two flavors in such a way that layered the flavors (coffee at the top, dark chocolate hazelnut in the middle, and a little more coffee at the bottom), which I really appreciated when I finished the coffee and found that there was more. Also loved that you can mix up to 4 flavors in a small; I don't think I've seen that before. And the pricing scheme is $5 for a small, $5.50 for a medium, or $6 for a large. This ends up making the large extremely cheap for what it is! It's in downtown Coronado so be prepared for street parking - it's honestly not as bad as a lot of downtown areas though! read more

Which is understandable on a hot evening, however the cases were messy with bits of one gelato, dripped on to others all over the case. (Not a big probelm for me but for someone who had allergies it could be.) We waited and eventually were able to place our order. Once they finished my wifes cone, they quickly handed it over but let go before I had my hand on it. I was able to catch it by the ice cream. Staff offered to make us another, but since it had not hit the glass or floor my wife was ok with it as is. The staff who had passed/dropped to me (shorter, pony tail, wearing a grey/black shirt) then said "I can ring you up now" to which I responded "I would rather wait for mine, since that one was almost dropped" "No we have a line I will ring you up and it will be brought to you" "I'll wait, you are moving a little to fast" Which seemed to upset her even more. Eventually I got mine and rang up. Never got an apology, even when the cone 1st fell. I understand that they were busy, and there was a line, but it was a very unpleasent visit.
