I do not recommend taking your vehicle to this shop. Communication was extremely poor from start to finish. My vehicle sat at the shop for three weeks without anyone working on it, and no one kept me informed about the status. I constantly had to follow up myself. Before bringing my car here, I had two independent shops inspect it, and both concluded that the damage was related to the accident. My insurance company directed me to this shop because it was part of their DRP (Direct Repair Program) network. When I explained the issue to the service advisor, his response was, "This is a body shop, not a mechanic shop." Despite that, State Farm later informed me that my mechanical damage claim was denied because this shop reported that the damage was not accident-related. Based on my experience, I would encourage anyone to carefully research where they take their vehicle. Just because a shop is in an insurance company's network doesn't necessarily mean it is looking out for your best interests. If you have the option, consider getting an independent opinion before relying solely on a DRP shop's assessment. I was disappointed with the lack of communication, the lengthy delay, and how my concerns were handled. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this shop based on my experience. read more

Tammy was by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had. She continuously interrupted me during our conversation to the point where it became obvious it was intentional. Her attitude was rude, dismissive, and combative, which is shocking considering she is the voice of this location. We brought our vehicle here because our insurance company recommended Gerber and assured us they would stand behind the work. I paid my copay, which would have been the same no matter which shop we chose, so I went with the guarantee of backed work. I was simply shocked that the quote here was nearly five times higher than expected. Drop my car off here to get repaired after a collision. The person who hit me was the person who is paying for the damage and my rental car. The customer service here is beyond horrible. It is to be honest the reason why they get one star. The speeding us deserve some effort, but it got out Trump by the lack of care they have for their customers. I was helped by SHAYNE. On my initial visit, it was set up by the insurance company. When I got to the location, they told me that I was not able to drop off my car that I had to get another estimate. The reason I came to this location is because it was close to my house, and it happen to get good reviews in the past. When I got here, they gave me a date for the following week that I could actually get my car repaired. They told me SHAYNE was "NOT sure of how long the repairs would take" and I scheduled a meeting with the rental car company. " I told him what happened on impact and the following information of what was specifically damage like the front bumper, and my hubcap flew off. After dropping my car off that same day, I was at work and got a message that my car would be done "MAYBE" the following day day. This meee safe if it would be done because I worked all day, and there is a good possibility. I was not available to drop my car off. I was told by the technician/person working on my case that it would maybe be done, they use the same word, but they were unsure until they get the parts, and they actually started to repair my car. They did not give me a definite date of when my car would actually be repaired or completed. The next day, I am at work, and my mom who calls me was told that she spoke with the technician/person handling my case, saying that I missed/did not tell him statements of which I did, and he took photos up. This became very upsetting because I then called the technician, and he told me that he had never said that to my mother. I don't like being called a liar, nor my mother being called a liar. This was very upsetting. And I didn't understand why he had to go and lie about our statement saying that he did fix something he did not complete. This was very very upsetting read more

The only reason I gave 2 stars was because the person who took pictures of the damages was the only nice person working there that I came in contact with. I believe his name was wade, but I'm not the greatest with names. However, the lady that sits at the front desk and handle the phones is horrible. Plus it's confusing on where to park as well where to park for assessments. This is my first time having to deal with an accident repair and I'm trying to make sure I could pay the deductible along with the rental deposit. Meanwhile she was rude and disrespectful to me the entire time. Then said she never got my email but I told her when I went in. She makes you feel like you're the problem and it's your fault and you're wrong for everything. She's very unprofessional and hung up when I was trying to tell her to let me contact my insurance adjuster so we can figure this out since she wasn't wanting to help me and was giving me attitude about the scheduling drop off along with when I was having the issue of it aligning with my checks to pay the deductible, and the deposit and other things. Honestly it was a horrible experience and I'd never recommend it. It's hard enough as a woman that I get taken advantage of at these places but to be treated this way by another woman that works there is just disrespectful and degrading. read more

I stopped by the other day because I was having issues the bottom part of my car hitting the ground from driving through a flood. I pulled in and asked if they knew what I should do- and they immediately pulled my car in, jacked it up, and fixed it! Right there on the spot. When my beloved older model SUV needed a small dent removed, I received several glowing reviews for the work here by a friend from the paint and body industry, but my experience was anything but. The man I spoke with was aggressive and condescending, and made me feel like a total idiot for even asking for an estimate. He barked at me that they don't work on older cars and refused to even offer a referral or alternative on who might (honestly, I get it, but a polite "no, thank you" would have been just fine). After getting a dent in the driver side of the car, I was in deep doodoo with my wife. Trouble. I'm talking anger coming out of her ears like a gosh darn cartoon. Callie has an alter ego named Patricia that only comes out when she is so mad she is about to start stabbing folks. When Patricia shows up the crowd parts like when that dude at the high school dance spins around on his back like a gosh darn turtle shell and everyone says "wow." The first place I went to get an estimate wanted $1100 plus tax. Wow. Then I went to Don's. Brad not only made sure I didn't get anything I didn't need, the work was done a day earlier than expected and way cheaper than the other place. Wow. The only thing else to say is repair cost a different amount than the estimate. Instead of $800, it was $682. I was blown away! Brad found that the stripe he had to replace was a decal (and not painted on) so he dropped the price. He was totally honest about it. He could have totally ripped me off and I would have never known better. I don't know squat about stripes. Wow. As a bonus, they also cleaned the car inside and out. It even smells better now. They must have found that cheese that went missing that one time on our anniversary last September. So, get an honest repair done quickly, done right, and done within budget. Wow. No one expects to have someone hit them and then have to add a bunch of stressful stuff to your to do list and everyone at Don's made the process much better. This is the second time in only two months that my car needed Don's Paint & Body's expert care. First time, I drove out of my garage with the trunk lid for my RX350 still open.....ooops. The paint color for my car is a bit unique, but Rick found the matching color, ordered the parts ( $1500 ) and my car was happy again ( $59.00 for labor ). Yes, you read that correctly! Last week, my driver's side mirror had a not so pleasant "meet and greet" with the front gate in my neighborhood. The gate won. So, I made an appointment for Friday, April 17, 2020 for Rick or Brad to take a look at the problem and order the part. Within 5 minutes Brad had given me the good news and the bad news. The bad news was, I did not need to come back to have the mirror repaired, the good news, he fixed and sent me on my way. I just picked up my car this week from Don's. They did an incredible job and were super fast. Rick worked with my insurance estimate to get OE parts (important!) and they even went the extra mile to ensure my paint matched the paintjob. Sounds funny, but they not only took a code for the color but also matched with some fine tuning. It turned out perfect! I was parked in the lot across the street from Don's, coming from the gym and on my way to a doctor's appointment. As soon as I pulled out of my spot, I knew something was wrong. I made it to the street, but decided there was no way I was going any further. I pulled into Don's completely by chance; I didn't even notice it was a auto repair shop, I was just looking for a place to stop and call for assistance. Someone working at Don's (Don?) came to my window and asked if he could help. I was a bit flustered, but finally accepted his offer. The protective part of the front of my car had hit a few too many low driveways and those cement blocks at the front end of parking spots; it had torn and was dragging. The guy offering his help managed to refasten the bit that was hanging quickly and efficiently - at no charge! I even made it to my doctor's appointment just in time. I'd be happy to give them my business... only I've just moved out of Austin. I was very lucky to have pulled into their lot that day. read more

We moved to Austin late last year. Back home we had all of our "go to" spots (restaurants, body shops, mechanics etc.). Don's (and Rick) will be one of our new "go to" guys here in Texas. After driving our car here from the Northeast we decided it was time to trade it in for something new. We did our deal with the dealership and we got our price for the trade. 24 hours later our friend backed into our front fender leaving behind a dented side panel, damaged molding and a passenger door that wouldn't open. Update 2018: after a go-round that tore off my car's rear bumper, Brad explained to me exactly what the insurance company would do (and was accurate to within an inch), looked at the damage and said "oh, I think we can do something about this" and then re-attached the torn-off bumper so it looked even better than before and for less money than the insurance settlement offer. After stupidly scraping my car against a pole, I drove to Don's Paint & Body Shop and Rick came out to look at my car even though he had another appointment in five minutes and I had just dropped in unannounced. He carefully walked through what would have to be done to deal with the scrapes and dents, applied solvent to clean off the paint and gave me some advice about filing a claim with my insurance. It was one of the nicest interactions I've had with a car shop and I left feeling bad I hadn't paid a dime for any of it! I confess that I'm not the world's best driver. Over the years I've been in a number of fender benders and many times I've scraped my own car when I've backed too quickly into walls, telephone poles, concrete bumpers, and other less visible objects. Each time I've taken my car to Don's, and they've provided prompt, first class service at very reasonable rates. It's probably not a good thing to be on a first name basis with the folks at your trusted body shop, but it's actually very nice to pull in after a couple of years have passed and be greeted by name by Brad, Rick and Carrie. I've used Don's Body Shop on multiple occasions (no, I'm not a bad driver - but 20 years of living in Austin with periodic hailstorms will cause a few visits to body shops over time). They are very honest, and do excellent work. None of our repairs have been major but on each occasion I have been very pleased with the work. They worked extremely well with both me and the insurance company, sourced OEM parts instead of the refurb'ed parts specified by insurance (for the same cost), were super communicative with me, helped me get a rental car while mine was in the shop, and did a better job detailing my car before they returned it to me than the "professional" car wash I've taken it to does (maybe I need a new source for detailing ... but I digress). I was recommend here by a good body shop owner that I've talked to a couple of time so I decide to bring it here. I was recently involved in a wreck and my insurance and Don's were at limbo with the whole process. Rick was fantastic and super sweet. I have nothing against him and I feel Rick stands out and really cares about helping customers. If anything he would be a better owner than the actual owner. I came back today because my claim representative through my insurance told me to talk to them and update them about the processes and things are taken care of and they can expect weighing a specific amount of day. I was confused by the drama with the insurance company. Today when I came in the owner (forgot the name but it wasn't Rick) was completely rude,unprofessional, and aggressive. He literally did not let me speak(like at all), said he wasn't going to argue (we were not even arguing and he didn't even let me speak so what argument?) (I also think he took offense as if I didn't trust him or something even though I'm the victim who is confused). He then proceeded to yell at me in front of his employees and customers. People were actually really surprised and stayed silent especially the fact that he's yelling at some 20 something year old who did nothing wrong. He said that I don't have confidence in their work and that he doesn't have confidence in the car and that I should take it to another body shop. He said they will not work on it or touch my car and I should take it anywhere but here. I left and went to greet a worker in the garage and he then ran outside immediately and told me I wasn't allowed in their garage and that I should leave and he's kicking me out. He said that he's the owner and he can do whatever he wants. He started to sound like a real dictator. At one point he violated my person space while yelling at me when he came out to the garage. I have never witnessed this sort of behavior at an establishment before. So much for customer service....huh? Apparently money and power is all he cares about. If this is the kind of attitude that is the face of this business then I don't want their business. Totally unprofessional and could have been handled differently. I hope that this sort of behavior isn't a regular thing. So disgusting! You just lost a potential customer!!!! Losing your temper with a customer is unprofessional and can lead to a decrease in customers. You do not yell at a customer especially when you're the one at fault. It doesn't matter if you have person problems or are naturally that horrendous don't put it on the customers. I refuse to come back here or bring my car back here after this scene.
