I've been here twice and it's pretty good. I went to a place in Arizona years ago and have yet to find shaved ice like that, but this is the place for it. I REALLY like the dairy free options, it's hard to have options like that at the local ice cream shops nearby. The employees are very nice and it's clean inside. I've had the aloha breeze my first time and the pitaya in paradise the second time, both were good. Maybe from now on I will omit the ice cream because it's not like it's homemade or anything, but that's just my preference. Highly recommend this place! read more

This place just opened in the Vibe District in Virginia Beach. I went for the soft opening and had no idea what it was all about. Hawaiian shaved ice. I was impressed with the service, the product and the amount!!!! I got the suggested pairing and not the build your own because I didn't know what I was doing. I got the Aloha Breeze which has vanilla ice cream, toasted coconut, mango and other delicious flavors. I do not like sweet but this was not too sweet at all and was quite refreshing. I shared it with a friend and I am glad that I did - no way would I have finished it by myself. It was delicious, pretty and fun to watch them make it. The staff was super friendly and helpful. It's such an odd time to open because it is getting colder but I have no doubt by the time it gets warmer they will be busy all the time. Definitely check them out and bring the kiddos. Amazing service and yummy desserts! I brought my nieces and nephew here for a post beach treat. They all have extreme allergies. Not only were they able to accommodate with dairy free ice cream and shave ice but even with a dairy free whip cream! They were so careful to avoid contamination -- they wiped down tables and equipment before preparing each of the allergy orders. I am blown away by this level of service and it's unlike any other place I've been. If you have a dietary restriction or allergy -- this is a place you can enjoy without worry! There is a little heated shed in the back which was also quant, warm and fun. We will be coming back and looking forward to summer treats here! The shave ice is bomb! read more

I came across this spot on IG and SOO glad that I did! The couple that owns the joint was working and they are so cool! They talked to us as they worked so their friendly service just added to the experience. Now to the shaved ice. I think these are more than your normal shaved ice. There are lots of sauces to choose from and a lot of them are made in house. The 3 we had were designed already but you can also create your own. I don't do a lot of reviews but when I come across a place that's as amazing as Get Lost, I have a duty to the world to do so. I lived in Hawaii back in the 80's as a little kid and I remember getting shave ice and how awesome it was. When I moved to Virginia, they didn't have anything like that here. Oh of course you'd see places that would say they were Hawaiian shave ice but in reality they were always just fancy snocones. Was I skeptical when I first visited? Of course, I'd seen the lies and frauds before. I expected maybe a fancy snocone and some island ambiance. Let me just say that I've never been happier to be wrong. This place serves it up like I remember as a kid. The difference is mostly 2 things. The way the ice is served, it's actually shaved. The texture is different, it's unique and it's just better. Secondly, the ice cream at the bottom. At first, you might say ice cream and ice don't go together and you are right. But ice cream and the shave ice. Go perfectly together. Don't ask me how. I'm not a scientist. I don't know why it's different, I can only tell you that my 5 senses all point to euphoria. The flavor selection is much better than what we had in Hawaii so in some sense maybe this is better than what I had experienced as a kid. My favorite is the Ube. Beyond all that, their staff is on a Chick-fil-a level. You can tell they want to be there and enjoy serving you. Not like the other dessert places down at the oceanfront who act annoyed that you showed up at their establishment to buy the product they're selling that keeps them in business (I'm looking at you Kohr Bros). Maybe it's because the Get Lost employees know they're serving up life altering goodness in a bowl and it satisfies their innermost being. Whatever it is, they got great people working there. I'd recommend you visit. Even if there is a long line, it moves quick and your order is up a lot sooner than you might expect. read more

I have only have had a couple shaved ice place from Kauai, Hawaii. So im not the most knowledgeable but this place looks very similar so i had my hopes up already and this exceeded my expectations! This is by far the best one ive had in my life. Its not too sweet its the perfect amount and its alot better than shaved ice sweetened with condensed milk in my opinion! This is a fun little shop! We visited on a "warm" day in January and picked one of the recommended pairings (I trust the experts). There's not much room in the main shop for sitting/eating but they do have a separate shed set up with chairs and tables, plus outdoor picnic tables. It was a yummy splurge (about $10 per item) and I'd definitely recommend stopping by for an icy treat when down at the oceanfront. read more

It was really good. My only issues was that I wish they had more variety of size choices. It's a lot to eat & kiddos or people who don't eat much could end up wasting it. Also, they need to start giving us a better container or bowl so that when it starts to melt it doesn't spill all over you.
