Really disappointed at one of our local pizzerias. GINA'S PIZZERIA in Montebello. On 10/28/21 we ordered a pizza and picked it up. When we opened it up at our house, the pizza wasn't what we ordered. We called them up to complain and the cashier said to take it back there and they would correct it. It was late and we were hungry and told her that we'll talk to the owner later. We went there the next day and was told that the owner was out making deliveries himself (probable to keep the tips for himself). We waited there about a half hour and this guy shows up and picks up some pizza's to deliver. We asked inside if that was the owner that left and was told yes. The guy also told us that he told the owner about us and he said that he would "think about making us a new pizza". Well, to make a long story short, he never got back to us. And so, this is why we will not be going back there to GINA'S PIZZERIA. If the owner doesn't care about his customers, he going to lose more that my patronage alone. I Have eaten Gina's Pizza for a long time and When I was in School as a kid it used to be located in Los Angeles on Whittier Blvd down the street where I went to Middle School. I just recently had it after a freakin long time and damn Have I been missing out, after all this time they have moved just blocks from were I stay now... I feel like kicking my self in the ass a couple hundred times for losing touch of my Gina's Pizza, yes i called it mine.. When I called to place my order, the lady on the other end of the line was very nice and help full, and afetr she told me the price I was like wow thats cheap, considering I ordered 2 lazagney (Lasagna) dinners that came with Garlic bread and salad, and 1 extra large peperoni, mushroom, black olive pizza, that came over flowing out the box.. When the dude came to my house witht eh food I was like wow that freakin huge, he kinda laughed and said well I hope you enjoy.. he was very nice.. 1st bite shot pleasure sigles from my mouth to my brian that caused 1 eye to partialy shut..lol wow this pizza was grezzy, cheezzy, peperoni goodness. 2nd bite, was like another shot of food pleasure to my brain causing me to forget my sons name after he tryed to encrouch on my pizza (I shared dont worrie) I was like that one grandma that says all the grad kids names before she gets to yours like after 6 kids..you all know what I mean , you all have one of those huh?.. This is some of the best pizza at the best price you can get! The owner has been doing it for at least 30 years and between him and the way he has set up his little place you feel at home when you stop by. Very friendly! The pizza is delicious and you can either get a whole pizza or just a slice for $2!! But wait, their individual slices are HUGE! I couldn't even finish mine. This place is good, the service is slow and it needs and update in decor. I have been coming here since it opened and moved locations.

First time there it was around 830pm on Friday we walk and its empty.. So we decided to order wings, salad and pizza. Well wings wern't good at all ...Salad was an antipasto salad which consists of lettuce , lots of mushrooms a sprinkle of tomatoes and black olives and Italian dressing which was good. The price was right at least for what the gave you. Sorry no pic of pizza . I thought it was good and huge for a small. Which I like bread ...but my boyfriend said it was too doughy. So for all that and a drink came $34 . Which was okay considering what we ordered. Overall I say it okay it was clean and nice decor and the waitress was very attentive considering we we're the only one there. read more

My all time favorite Italian restaurant. I been coming here for 11 years and they always take care of you. My kids like getting the slice of pizza because it excites them on how big it comes. My favorite dish will be the chicken piccata it is the most flavorful and best out there! So yesterday the US encouraged us to order Togo from a restaurant to help support local businesses in this difficult time and I almost ordered Shakey's because I wanted pizza and chicken. Well let me tell you, I'm glad I didn't. Where has this place been hiding?! The Medium pizza we got might as well been a large, it was massive! I'm a crust person, and this crust was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They don't skimp on ingredients either! We got the deluxe and it was amazing! Juicy, not greasy. The wings were really good too! We got Buffalo, and they were tossed in the perfect amount of sauce. (My husband is a stickler for wings and he was impressed) We also ordered the lasagna to share today and it was so good. The ricotta was oozing out and the sausage inside blended well with the sauce. Gina's is exactly what a pizza place should be. Super nice staff, really good pizza and a great deal! When you hear $20 for one large pizza, you may think that's a bit steep.. until you see the size of the pizza! Something happened today, foods usually very good but today starting with the middle aged woman cashier who seemed stressed was very abrasive personality and the food was not the usual, i ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken, lousy , never had it so bad. When i went to complain all she would say that the owner has not been present to do the cooking of certain items like meatballs etc. I would think she would offer a refund or huge discount to say the least but all she said was that she would relate it to the owner. Had lasagna. "Dinner" option came with salad and garlic bread. Salad was "diner" style, basically iceberg lettuce with a few shavings ofvother vegetables. Pretty good though. Garlic bread was alright. Lasagna was also pretty good. Had too little meat and sauce was a bit thin. But meal was good, overall. My biggest beef is that upon paying the check i was informed there would be a 75 cent fee for using a card. Nothing was posted on the door or at the register. What choice did i have at that point? Had i been told beforehand i would likely have eaten there anyway. But there is no reason this info shouldn't be conspicuously posted, if they're looking to pass their costs onto the consumer. When it comes to dinning out and trying to stay on a good budget, it does not get any better than Gina's Pizzeria!! I recently started going to this pizzeria, which is also located in the city of Montebello, and their signature pizzas are absolutely amazing!! The owners of Gina's Pizza are Richard and Dora, two of the most kindest, down-to-earth and friendliest people you will probably ever meet. Now let's be real, most of us will probably never get the chance to go to Italy...but going to Gina's Pizza you definitely get a big taste of Italy with some of the most delicious Italian dishes (I recommend the pizza) that you have ever tried. On a much more important note, the restaurant is family-friendly, handicap accessible, and also very open to people of the community. I will be visiting this restaurant again very soon :) read more

I'm amazed that this has such a high rating on google. We ordered a large pizza and it was busting out of the box. I seriously wish I would have taken a picture but I wasn't thinking about that at the time. I don't want the crust of my pizza hanging outside of the pizza box but what i do want is the owner to just buy some larger pizza boxes. This is gross and unsanitary. I think "ok well I can maybe look past that if the pizza is amazing" then I realize that there is a hole in the bottom of the box. My finger went through the f'king box. The toppings were sliding off the pizza because there was so much grease. The sausage was like the kind you would find on one of those little frozen celeste pizzas. The cheese tasted waxy, the sauce was runny. I could not pay $25 for a large 3 topping pizza that tasted like garbage so I requested them to pick it up and give me a refund. Its not hard to make a good pizza. I'm convinced the good ratings on Google are from friends and family. Step it up, guys! We love to support small business.....when it's good. read more

The pizza is GOOD! I bought two slices thinking they were going to be small but they are BIG SLICES!!! With JUST $5 I was able to buy myself two slices and a soda! This is the best place to go if you are in a budget and get in the mood for pizza!! The place is small but comfortable. They have OUTDOOR SEATING, however, the tables are on the sidewalk and Beverly Blvd. is a VERY BUSY STREET. I could hardly hear what my friends were saying. So I have ordered for Gina's many a times and love their pizza. I have always gotten delivery and loved it since they are one of the few no-chains that deliver in my area. The last time I had delivery was on 1/14/15 and I have always paid with a credit card. Well, on 1/14 I was told they do no accept credit card orders over the phone. I let them know I always pay with a credit card. She said that they do not do it and would need the owners permission to accept the credit card, WHAT?!!! She then proceeded to tell me that she would have to call the owner to get it approved and call me back. Ok, this is fine. She calls back and let's me know that the owner did not pick up but since I had previously paid with a credit card, she would place the order. All good. I call back on 1/15 to order another pizza. Again I try to pay with a credit card and told the same damn thing, we don't accept credit card orders over the phone. I told her that I had placed an order the day before and had paid with a credit card. Like before, she says, the owner has to approve it. So I said, just cancel my order. Is this place nuts?! I mean the person sounds like a damn parrot repeating the same dam thing every time I call to place an order and pay. No credit card unless the owner approves it, squawk! If you do not take credit cards unless you are friends with the owner, then say that upfront instead of taking my order one day and not the other. Going somewhere else from know on! read more

The reason I gave them a 3 and not a 4 is because very last time I ordered delivery I found a pinto bean in my Pizza hmmm I doubt they make anything there that requires a pinto bean...haven't been back since. My husband and I loved this place up until a couple weeks ago. We would normally go in for lunch and order the special of 2 slices of pizza, buffalo wings and a soda. The pizza was perfect and the wings were crispy and smothered in buffalo sauce. After a hard day's work , tired and hungry, we decided to take the fam out to eat. So we we must have went on a night were the cook was tired and the restaurant needed to stock up on supplies. We ordered the giant pizza, salad, cheese sticks, buffalo wings, and pitcher of soda. We get the salad and it looked like old lettuce with chopped tomatoes and one small cup of dressing. The portion was for one person and when we asked the little rude waitress with the tattoos for more dressing she had an attitude. Then came the over cooked dark brown buffalo wings with no sauce? Then the over cooked cheese sticks that were dry inside and really hard outside. At this point we couldn't wait to get the main course, the Pizza, hoping this would be better, nope. "NEGATIVE" So disappointing to finally get our pizza and only to find it so dry I could barely taste the sauce, only a little bit of cheese and i could literally count how many pepperoni's it had on one hand. My husband usually does not handle confrontation well and being that he was tired I said I would deal with it in the morning with the owner Ricardo. I called the next day and explained how disappointed we were with the quality of the food and the rude service from his teenage waitress. He said he would speak with his staff and call me back. I have yet to receive a phone call or an apology for the food and service after spending over $50. Oh and did I mention they charged us for the extra ranch dressing we asked for our salad? Ok so I hadn't been here in 10 years or more and decided to bring my son and sister to try out what I remebered as bomb. And it all just really went downhill from the moment we sat down. First they bring us wings like 10+mins before pizza got out so they got cold quick with there high a.c.. Second I ordered a and they gave everyone in restuarant a pizza stand and just ignored my table. The pizza came and they just placed it on the table. They gave me a basic little knife to try and cut pizza apart instead of the real pizza knife/picker upper like everyone else. All the slices were cut very uneven. And they seem to have preferences on who they want to give the better customer service to, mainly nicer to there employee friends. I gotta say I was not impressed.. Nothing was outstanding,very basic. I'd say if you want real good pizza arond the area just go to East L.A. pizza or Jay's pizza... They are both near by and say better. So try this spot on your own risk... And good luck with the customer service and how they decide to treat you. read more

We came across this place by accident, sorta. Actually, I am 90% certain my friend told me about it, but I never went, for years. It's been around a while, run by the same family, according to the menu. They have a lousy location, but the food quality clearly ensures their survival. Good for them!
