Gino's is a Chicago staple, of Deep Dish pizza. I've already had his, and others, so today I got the Italian Hoagie. Casalingo, sopresatta, canadian bacon, mozzarella, cheese, shredded lettuce, mayo, tomato and red wine vinaigrette on a french roll. A nice toasted roll, good portion of Italian meats, cheese all worked together for a good Italian. A side of crinkle cut fries. A good hoagie, but the pizza is the way to go here. read more

Chicago food tours must stop here. Gino's East is the best option for that deep dish I don't even like. In spite of that it's a good version. Bitch about the prices for sure but you can do that about any place around it. This location isn't as busy as the Mile one, which is good for focusing on the actual product. After picking a place for pizza, we came here. It's a little different than the other one because it's quieter and smaller. The prices are the same though. It's about $25 for a personal sized pizza. Yeah fuck that. However it's thick, meaning you get a lot. The best vegetarian choice is the O.M.G. Clever. This is topped with green peppers, mushrooms, and onions, get it? Also they even have vegan cheese. Yes there's an additional charge on top of the already high price. Oh well it still is worth it once at least. There's also overpriced beers to go along with the high cost pizza. Also appetizers. There's healthier options like salads. Best thing about this kind of so called pizza is you get a lot even in a personal size because it's all dough pretty much. In turn the worst thing is the price because you're paying for a lot of dough pretty much, with a bit of pizza sauce and toppings. They're nice to have lots of options for vegans and vegetarians. read more

Took my brother here while he was visiting for pizza. We came in for lunch on a weekday and for the most part it was definitely not packed. We were waited on by the bartender. My brother asked for the best cocktail he makes and the bartender came back with some sort of raspberry lemonade drink that my brother loved. I drank Pepsi and my drinks stayed refilled. We got the thin crust pizza and it was so good. I didn't think we could finish it but somehow we did. It was so delicious. Great 80s music playing. read more

If you want Chicago deep dish, this is where you need to go. Friendly service and excellent atmosphere, not to mention the food!

We walked in excited to try this place. Initially they told us that it would be 45 minutes to an hour for a table for our party of 2. We could see multiple seats at the bar were empty so asked if we could sit at the bar. They seemed reluctant, strangely, but said yes. We sat down and waited about a half hour for somebody to come take our order. The bartender, who was swamped, came to take our order and seemed to be covering tables all over the restaurant which was odd. The operations didn't seem very well managed. There was a frantic server running around who seemed very overwhelmed handling the rest of the tables. They were also front of house staff that were dealing with people walking in. Either way it really should not have taken a full half hour to just take our order. We asked for things to be brought out as they were cooked, not all at once, but everything was brought out at the same time. Our food was lukewarm so must have been sitting on the pass for a while. My pizza was just okay. They did forget the basil that I added. And overall it was mediocre. I've had better pizza even in other states that don't specialize in pizza. The gluten-free crust was actually decent but the toppings like the pepperoni and sausage were just not flavorful. The green peppers and onions were pretty raw which was odd. The other item purchased was a standard supreme deep dish pizza for my husband and he said it was just okay and not great. The expeditor who dropped our pizza off was the same server who seemed very overwhelmed helping most of the other tables. He splattered pizza sauce on the table when he was serving my husband's deep dish pizza, which nearly got on us, and while he said sorry, he left it for us to clean up. The service overall just made us feel unwelcome and was odd. The bartender who took our order and got us drinks was nice but was clearly overwhelmed too. Some of the other locations seem to have better reviews so maybe it's just this location but we would definitely not come here again or recommend it. It was definitely a letdown for Chicago pizza. read more

I was told specifically as a person visiting from out of state that Gino's East was a must eat at for deep dish pizza while in Chicago. This was a very accurate statement as I have certainly never had a deep dish this good, let alone any pizza this good. I say at the bar by myself and the bartender, Colton, made far friends with me. I greatly enjoyed chatting with him and the service with him and anyone else writing there was awesome. I felt welcome and good on the restaurant. It's bigger than expected and had a more modern and slightly upscale vibe tab I was expecting, including a nice restroom. Sometimes those are hard to find. This restaurant was super clean. Older man kelp dishes picked up, water out to new guest, and tables clean. He done a good job and I was impressed. Our waitress was Hannah who kelp our drinks full and checked on us regularly. The pizza took a while but was well aware and prepared for the wait. The appetizer was excellent (fresh, quality, speed). Gino's East of Chicago If you are looking for deep dish pizza go somewhere else. I have another review for tips. The building is big with lots of tables however the service is very slow. The ambiance is more of like a sports bar not a restaurant. Food was insipid. We got a small deep supreme pepperoni pizza enough for two people for 26.95z The pizza sauce was too watery. Central dark Beer for 9 dollars. Customer service was average but slow. I noticed a few of the servers would hang out by the bar and talk for periods of time. read more

What a surprise to find the famous Gino's East having a location right across from our Hotel. There are only two in Chicago and only 6 in the whole country, man we lucked out. This isn't just a pizza place, this is Gino's East some of the finest, most delicious famous pizza you'll find. Deep Dish Chicago style pizza at it's finest. And Tiffany was our waitress and so helpful and kind. We were going to get two 9 inch for each of us and she said one is fine for the both of you. Thank you for saving us $33. The price is high, but when you realize the quality and uniqueness of what you are about to consume and then you share that for two people it a good deal and we still had a slice of pizza remaining. We got the Meaty Legend (pepperoni, Italian sausage, Canadian Bacon, Bacon) and it was so great and may define what delicious is. They have a Hot and Spicy pizza, Italian Beef, a veggie pizza, Burger & Fries (gotta try this some day), Spinach Margherita and a few more deep dish options. Gino's East also has appetizers, salads, soups and sandwiches and yes dessert as well. Plus a good selection of beers (craft beers too). Whats good about this location is it's probably not as crowded as the Original Gino Easts, its for sure not as big, but it's nice, it was fairly quiet for a Thursday night around 8pm for dinner, but we were in and out by 9:30, deep dishes do take about 45 minutes to cook, which Tiffany did communicate, but that tells you just how special a pizza they have on tap at Gino's East.
