I had not ordered from Giordanos in about a year because 4 out of 4 times I did the orders were wrong, food was forgot or I would have to call after 2 hours to find out where my food was to then have it delivered cold. That was at the 6836 n. sheridan rd. chicago,il 60626 location. I now live in Evanston, il and have placed two orders with the Giordanos at 500 Davis st. evanston,il to once again have things forgotten from both of my orders. This time they forgot chicken caesar salad, my side salad and I received no bread. I called them and after a little while they brought back the salads, never did get any bread. The funny thing is that people I have met up here have warned me not to order from Giordanos because they always mess the orders up. No, it's not cheap, but if you want cheap run-of-the-mill pizza there are a million other sh*tholes you can go to. If you want the real deal, this is it. Ordered a pizza and was really excited for it. Their timing was impeccable and very quick service. My only problem was the delivery guy. I have never dealt with someone more rude in my entire life. He extended the time he was waiting for to 20 minutes when in reality he had been waiting only 5. He was blaming me for getting a ticket from the police and gave me a lot of attitude on the phone while my boyfriend was going to pick up the pizza. As a resident in Rogers Park the last two years my roommate and I have really enjoyed our experience at this location. Typically we dine-in but recently we ordered online for pick up and did not have the best experience with the service. After placing an order for pick up online and waiting an hour to receive a confirmation, we went to this location and they informed us there was no order under our name for pick up. Instead of offering to resolve this issue and suggest to make our $40+ order, we left hungry and sad and had to order from a different local pizza place. read more

Best pizza in any restaurant, anywhere. Period. There are places that come close but none that have been better. As for service, service could be better. I've sat there with an empty water glass for over 20 minutes, but they get busy, and that happens. I'd still come here even if the service was horrible. I'd just tip less. read more

I live very close to this location and it has never failed to FAIL! Most recently I ordered a personal sized cheese stuffed crust for pick up. I show up about 45 minutes later and they tell me it still has some time to go (even though they said 35 minutes on the phone)...i overlooked that and had a seat. About 10 minutes later the girl comes to me and says there was a mix up with my pizza...HOW DO YOU MESS UP A CHEESE PIZZA?!?!?!?! I had already paid....they offered to deliver....but I did not want to wait another 1 hour...so upset because I wanted my food. Anyway hope they improve on their service. read more

I've gotta say, I was not too impressed. We had a huge (16") thin crust pizza with shrimps and extra garlic for takeout and paid close to 30 $. The pizza was big and full of cheese, so it did easily feed 3 people, but the extra garlic was barely detectible and the cheese was obviously some cheap supermarket stuff. There are plenty of better alternatives for as much money or less around in this town. read more

Meh is the right word for this place, at least last night. Was over at a friend's and we ordered a medium veggie for delivery. 70 mins later a lukewarm pizza showed up, and it was just...meh. Veggies either almost raw or "chewy like the spinach, no decent flavor to this zza at all. And nearly $35 w tip for just the pizza--fail! This place was doing better 3 or 4 years ago, but it has now definitely lost the touch. Better options out there. read more

The food at this place is pretty good. However, if you are looking for good customer service, you might want to look elsewhere. I have called in a number of orders to pick up over the past few months. Each time I went in, the cashier said maybe three sentences to me: "dining in or pickup?", "What's the name", and "$X". No have a nice day or anything. They did the bare minimum. I was particularly annoyed when I went in to pick up an order, and I split the cost with a friend. I told the girl to split the payment. She put the entire order on my credit card. When I informed her, all she said was "oops. Let me get my manager." That's it. No apology or anything. The manager wasn't much better. He came over to the cash register, pressed some buttons, and fixed it. However, upon leaving, there was no "sorry for the inconvenience" or "thank you for your patience", nothing. This is not the only time that I have had such lousy customer service. It is just about every time I go in there, save for 1 or 2 times. The majority of the time, there is just some young kid, with a neutral expression, who does the bare minimum, in terms of customer service. While I have frequented this place, I can definitely say that I am just about ready to give up on them. While the food is good (hence the 3 stars), I'd rather spare myself the irritation of the zombie-like customer service. read more

Generally quick and friendly service. The wait for pizza can be about an hour on a busy night but the apps and cocktails will keep you preoccupied. Prices are reasonable and the quality is always great. This is always my go-to place when I have out of town visitors. read more

I am shocked to read bad reviews on this place. I have eaten-in here, gotten deliveries, ordered for pick up and even done their dry ice ship-me-a-pizza because I need Gio's NOW! (and the shipping for it is more than the actual pizza, so lets just say it is THAT good) and each time it has been amazing (not the same with the shipped pizza, but still oh so yummy). Yes, this place is definately all about the pizza, the deep dish to be so exact and they do the best Chicago Style pizza anywhere. There other dishes are good, but I always choose the place for the pizza, and now that I have moved to California, Giordano's pizza is in the top 5 things I miss most and in the top places to go when I go back to visit. No, the cashier/waiters aren't always all that, but I have received worse service and most expensive checks elsewhere. And I love that at least they serve you the first slice when you eat-in. Also, I like to order right before I leave the house so I never wait the 45 minutes the say, and they usually get done before then anyways. I have never had to wait for seating and they have a bar.
