Horrible delivery driver! A lady in our building had an order delivered to. As I was walking into our LOCKED building a tall, Eastern European dark hair, delivery driver followed me into our building without ringing the buzzer. He just followed me in the building. I asked him if he had rung the bell of the apartment of the person he was delivering to. He, with an attitude, said no. The lady happened to he waiting downstairs so she got her food on the first floor. The delivery driver turned to me and said "See". He pointed to the Giordano's logo on his shirt and informed me he was a delivery driver so he had the right to just walk in my building without ringing anyone's buzzer to gain entrance. I didn't know who he was. He could have been a criminal gaining entrance to rob seniors in our building. Talk to your employees. They either need to be trained or retrained. read more

First off, love the pizza. They are in my opinion the number one best pizza in town. The issues that I will cite are minor and if fixed will yield them a five stars review in the future. They need to do some remodeling in their dining area. The booths need to be roomier and not so cramped. Also their restroom needs restoration as well. If they could work with either GrubHub or someone else to offer deals of some kind that would be great. Had a friend recently look on GrubHub when ordering us pizza at our company last week and told me they were not listed; big mistake. Even the wealthy like coupons and to save 7 dollars off orders. They know their pizzas are great and charge a decent amount for them. Will still go back on occasion because the pizza is so good. read more

Ahh Chicago Deep Dish. A good friend of mine always tells me that he doesn't consider it pizza. I totally understand that idea, especially after growing up in New York City. With that in mind: Firstly, the restaurant decor is your typical pizzeria restaurant. However, since this is a chain, it has a chainy Italian feel to it. It may not necessarily be best, but, it does the job. Secondly, you're talking to a die hard pizza fan. So, I'm going to be a little critic in this review. I got a sausage deep dish, and honestly, the pie seemed a little dry, overall. I would say it was definitely filling because I ate three slices and I could barely walking out of the restaurant, but, it seemed A-OK (just as my Yelp star rating says). Deep dish is an interesting concept, but, not exactly my favorite version of pizza. It is definitely filling though! read more

I love deep dish pizza! Unfortunately, Giordano's uses canned tomatoes for its "sauce." My mom visited from Georgia was completely dissapointed in her Chicago deep dish experience. There are far superior places to eat deep dish, like Gino's. There was a small puddle of water in the middle of our pizza from the canned tomatoes, and the serve said it was supposed to be like that. Not sure if this is the Evanston location or just a bad day to go, but I think I'll be visiting the several other places before I go back to find out. read more

First deep dish I ever had. It was a good way to get started, and I will take all my New York friends here as their introduction to deep dish as well. Service was slow, but congenial. Delicious pizza and wonderful service. This place was so good that my mom and I came here twice during our visit to Chicago. The first time we came, we ordered the thin crust super veggie pizza. We didn't have to wait too long and it tasted so good. The second time we came, we ordered the cheese stuffed pizza. It was absolutely scrumptious (although I would ask for less cheese next time), but we had to wait 45 minutes. Big mistake when you're famished! I would suggest calling ahead or starting with an appetizer. I have to say though, it was just as delicious as Lou Malnati's, yet with a slightly different crust. I was very pleased with the service both times. Our waiters couldn't have been nicer. Plus, we were seated immediately. I think this location must be off the beaten path, and therefore does not get as busy. My only complaint is the prices. I think paying almost $20 for a small, veggie deep dish is pretty outrageous. I know they boast having more ingredients, but give me a break. If you want to stuff yourself with some delicious deep dish and don't mind the price or the wait, come to Giordano's. read more

I went to the restaurant today with a friend expecting to have the classic deep dish pizza (since we are not from here) and the order didn't go according to the expected but the staff was so willing and patient to help causing the solution to be very efficient and quick. All to say, the food was amazing and since I have experience in kitchen, I would say you guys were great with the solution tonight! Giordano's has always had great Chicago Style pizza. The first deep dish pizza I had ever had was from Giordano's. I've been to this location many times. This spot has been around for years! I always get the vegetarian deep dish pizza and I absolutely love the filling. It has just the right amount of vegetables to cheese. I have been to this location once, it is a small comfy location however I never stayed to eat at the location. I love this place, partly because it was my first pizza place in Chicago...when I was a young student at Loyola, this was my pizza delivery place! They still deliver the hot, gooey, cheesy goodness that I remember! I love it! I recommend the stuffed crust...pepperoni is a good bet, but the spinach is good too. Slipped through the cracks. I am a lazy reviewer. I just plain forgot. I do not know why. I have a horrible memory. There are too many pizza places in Chicago. I have no idea, am making no other excuses. Who knows why I never got around to reviewing Giordano's before now? Whatever the reason, they are a dependable, if not cheap, Chicago pizza chain. I know what I am getting each and every time I order from them. I never eat in, just pick up the phone and dial. My N&N love the thin crust. It hits the spot for both of these picky kids. The deep dish is a good value, will last for D-a-y-s until you are so sick of pizza you never want to eat it again. Never a problem but delivery can be a bit slow on busy nights. When I first moved to Chicago, everyone told me I needed to go to Uno's and Lou Malnatti's for the quintessential deep dish Chicago style pizza but, I was disappointed in both of those. The deep dish pizza here is far better than any other I have had in this city. I can't get it too often for fear of having a heart attack before I turn 30, but whenever someone comes in from out of town or there is some sort of special occasion, I like to come here. I especially like that it's walking distance from my home, so when I stuffed full of pizza, I'm forced to walk it off a little on my way home. read more

Good service, although it always takes a long time to make the pizza, and that can be annoying if you're starved - in which case, I recommend the breaded zuchini sticks, or the cheese ones. Yes, it's a chain restaurant. But it still boasts one of the best stuffed pizzas in Chicago, second only to Art of Pizza in my experience. The crust is flaky and delicious. The 'za is chock-full of cheese, sauce and the toppings of your choice (usually pepperoni in my case--I'm a pizza simpleton, but I've also found that if you make it too fancy, e.g. adding peppers or other moisture-filled veggies, the crust tends to get soggy). I've also tried their thin-crust pizza, and it is similarly excellent. For you romantics out there, on Valentine's Day one year, they made the pie in the shape of a heart. ;) I recently branched out and tried their sandwiches, both the chicken-bacon-ranch and the Philly cheesesteak. Both were adequate, as were the fries. The Philly was very cheesy (provolone, not Cheez Whiz like a real Philly), and full of mushrooms and peppers. The beef was thinly sliced but a little dry. I also tried the chocolate cake for dessert, and it was heavenly. Delivery does usually take an hour for stuffed or thin-crust pizza, and slightly less for sandwiches. A great place to get a bite and scratch your stuffed pizza itch. read more

After trying Lou Malnati's I thought I would not find a better pizza, but I was pretty impressed with this place. My friend lived near this location so we decided to pop on in for dinner. It was pretty empty, but there were a few Loyola students dining in there. The decor of the restaurant was nothing spectacular and it was not as fancy as Lou's, but then again it is a pizza joint. We decided to order the deep dish with Sausage to compare it against Lou's and I was pretty impressed. I really enjoy the crust on this pizza more so, it was not saturated in butter, crispy, and just tasted right. I also liked the sauce more. The sauce was a bit sweeter and blended more with the pizza instead of having chunks of tomatoes. What I did not enjoy was the amount of fresh mozzarella in the middle of the pizza. It was a little overwhelming and was overflowing everywhere. When the pizza sat there for a while the cheese began to harden, which I was not a fan of. I enjoyed the pizza, but if you are looking for more of a Chicago feel and a bustling restaurant, I would head to Uno's, Due, or Lou Malnati's. read more

Good pizza, get it to go. I had a giftcard for here so I decided to use to get myself a deep dish pizza to go. I know the time to takes for those pizzas to cook so I thought I would use this as an opportunity to see what the service is like incase I wanted to go here with friends from night. Simply put, that wont be happening. I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and a beer while I was waiting. The dip came out luke warm on a pice of lettuce that was slightly wilted. The bread pieces that come with the dip were too thick to bite through and very dry. Overall a disappointing appetizer. The beer was passably cold. My server on the other hand made me feel like I was nothing but an annoyance and I was interrupting his TV show he was watching on the only tv in the place. So sorry to take you away from your precious Television. he did get the order correct, but I just did not feel welcome. I would get the pizza from here again, but I would not waste my time sitting in the place any longer than I have to. read more

Always our first pizza visit when we come to visit. Now that we live 2 blocks from the place, it probably won't be visited as much, but it is always good, hot, and greasy. Good service, good sized restaurant so we've never had a problem being seated. The crust is awesome and so is the sauce that comes with the garlic bread. OMG! This pizza is absolutely amazing!!! I still remember the first day I had it, and oh it was sooo good! Deep-dish, stuffed crust, with sauce on top of the cheese!!! I've never in my life had seen anything like it. It was so pretty I took a picture of it and didn't want to eat it. I've done carry out as well as dine-in quite a bit. I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant. Great place to hang out with friends (hoping you have some). I'm personally a fan of the stuffed crust with pineapple in which I eat w/ a fork and knife (even though some ppl make fun of me for it). The wait time is a little bit longer compared to ordering a regular pizza, but the wait is well worth it! Everyone I've eaten there with just dies and goes to heaven...it's that good! I crave the Chicken Club Sandwich (with extra chicken, for a nominal charge!). The soups are always well-seasoned -- I love the Broccoli Cheddar soup! The Stuffed Spinach pizza is my usual go-to, but the THIN crust Special was delivered tonight, delicious! The strawberry cheesecake is always "just right". Terrible customer service! Ordered for delivery yet I received the wrong pizza they said it would only take 5 minutes to receive my pizza yet it took longer. "Manager John" wants to offer a $5 refund for a $60 order, excuse me my appetizers that were left behind are now cold! He also says I should be quiet after I am really frustrated because I have hungry kids at home and I have to leave for work and to conclude he went ahead and hung up on me. Terrible, after working for a restaurant myself and knowing that we take full responsibility for our mistakes and make sure that our customers are happy this experience was just awful! I have dealt with customer service as well as a supervisor and this so called "manager" needs to be removed! read more

I recently went here with my girlfriend on a Saturday night (in the Summer) and we sat out on the patio. It's a really nice little spot to relax and have a drink and some pizza. The restaurant is a little older looking and it's not exactly the most glamorous spot on Sheridan Rd., but, it also wasn't super-crowded and we were served instantly with appetizers, drinks, and big glasses of water. The pizza was delicious and just as I remembered it and our server was super-nice and friendly. They had a couple of beers on draft too (Goose Island Green Line is what I ordered) and I think they were around $4.25 a pint, which I thought was pretty reasonable. All in all - if you're craving a little Chicago deep dish and in the area, I'd recommend this location for sure. read more

Their pizza is delicious! I just moved to the area and was excited to see a Giordano's down the street. I called to place an order for pick up. The person was very friendly when I told him that I wanted a small stuffed sausage and green pepper pizza. It took about 35 minutes. The pizza was very cheesy, which is perfect for me because I love cheese! I got full after eating 1 and 1/2 slice. I can't wait to try the thin crust and other items on the menu. read more

Hands down the best pizza and pasta I've ever had! The deep dish pizza takes about 45 minutes to make but I guarantee you that it's well worth the wait. Not only is the food delicious and fresh, but the staff was very welcoming and I even saw one of the waitresses do a FULL performance of "Happy Birthday" for one of the other guest's birthdays. You can tell the restaurant interacts like a family and wants you to feel a part of it. The staff here really appreciates their customers, and makes you want to come back! My servers have always been kind and attentive while serving my table. have tried different desserts from this location and they have always been ok but not great.
