Ate dinner here during Lollapalooza weekend so I was surprised that we only waited 5 minutes to get a table. My boyfriend and I ordered fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and broccoli for two, a personal deep dish pizza, and a side salad. The pasta dish was pricey, but huge (we could've split a dish for one instead of two). However, I wouldn't order it again. The Alfredo sauce was just OK, the broccoli was over cooked/soggy, and the chicken tasted like the frozen bags of Tyson grilled chicken. It did come with 4 pieces of bread. Our pizza was a little bit over cooked on the bottom, but pretty good otherwise. I called in for a fresh spinach stuffed pizza and was quoted about 30 or so minutes. Lo and behold, I arrived by the quoted time and it was indeed ready! Went to this location when family came into town from another state. They had never had deep dish and this place was nearby so we thought we'd give it a chance. We've never been so wrong. Service from the front station was atrocious. They were constantly rude about accommodating our group. We called ahead to let them know we were coming and what time. I know they don't take reservation, but at least take note that a large group might come so you can accommodate. Instead, we blocked your entire entry way for 20 min getting in the way of other patrons and servers. We planned, you didn't. Then you seat us at two different tables to get us out of the way. You should have provided the option to move to a larger table as our server even told us a large table cleared up within 7 min of us being seated. Then you sad you can't move us after we already sat down?! Seriously?! I've never been to a chain restaurant that is so incredibly disconnected and disorganized. As we sat separately, we ordered our 3 deep dish pizzas. One came out completely soggy and gooey - uncooked. I'm not sure how that's possible after 45 min. Isn't this supposed to be your specialty?! Most of the members in the group felt like the staff was rude, unapologetic for multiple mistakes, and stingy with side orders of items like hot peppers that we are paying extra for. There was never a single smile or positive comment from the hostess, server or anyone else that worked there. The entire mood was depressing. Bad service, bad food. Go to the location north of millennium park instead. By the way, this is the 2nd chance I've given them with the same issues. I hope management figures out how to better motivate their staff. I sat at the bar and these two Hispanic bartenders didn't even bother to come by because they were so busy talking to the locals! Not only that the food was mediocre at best! Pizza was good. I almost never leave one star reviews but the one star is for dishonesty. We did have a large party. It took over an hour to get our food. Our water was never filled. The server took our check and this took over 30 min. I left around a 15% tip for a ~$15 order. I went home and looked at my credit card charges and found out that the waiter added a $7 tip so I was charged a heavier amount on my credit card. I have since called my credit card company to dispute the charge and will be asking them to leave $0 for tip as I would never recommend coming to this restaurant due to dishonest practices. Place was not busy but we still had to wait for a table, and no one offered to let us sit at the bar. The waitress brought us waters after we thought they forgot to assign anyone to us. She took our order since we were ready and the salads came back fairly quickly. They were slightly over dressed but not bad. She didn't come back with refills on water or soft drinks until our pizza came 35 minutes later. We made several attempts to flag her down but it didn't work. She was chatting with the front desk staff about how thankful she was that it wasn't busy anymore. The pizza came and it was delicious. I thought our pizza/meal and experience at this Giordano's was pretty decent. I still prefer Gino's particular pizza, but this one was alright. Our service was just fine. Glasses were kept full and dishes cleared promptly. Presentation of the pizza had a nice flair. Started with an order of cheesy garlic bread ("House Favorite") and Giordano's house salads. The bread was very good - soft bread with a generous topping of cheese, and quite buttery & garlic-y but not so much to make the bread soggy. Salads were another pleasant surprise. The use of shaved fennel instead of onion slices was smart, and a fairly thick topping of shaved Asiago cheese satisfied my love for it. Pizza was a typical deep dish for Chicago. Toppings (actually insides) of sausage and pepperoni were sufficiently thick. Sauce and cheese were quality. I didn't particularly care for their prep of the crust, though. The edges, especially, seemed like a thick, flaky biscuit. My preference, perhaps, but I don't want my crust reminding me of biscuits. read more

It was delivered to my hotel much sooner than the estimated ETA, the delivery man was very efficient and friendly, and everything was packaged thoughtfully and carefully. I always hate to leave a bad review for a business, because I too have a business. However, I am very disappointed in this Giordanos location. My company spent over $1400 this last week having pizzas delivered from various Giordanos locations to our customers as a Christmas Thank You for giving us their business. One of those deliveries was from this location and this delivery in particular arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes late. When we called to see where our order was, it hadn't even been started. Yet our card was charged! They made no attempts to make this right with us or give a discount for the inconvenience. Ultimately, it was MY customer and their 50 employees that were affected and had to wait. I wanted this to be a nice thing we were doing and it was instead a hassle for them and now we look bad. :( read more

Okay. The pizza at Giordano's is always good. It's a chain restaurant, and in terms of the pizza quality and taste, this location is fine. It's like any other Giordano's pizza. Why the two stars? The service was terrible. I have been to many Giordano's locations. Giordano's is actually one of my fav pizza places. The server usually serves you the first slice. Our server tossed us the plates and asked, "so do you guys want me to serve you or what?" All the other tables around us were getting served slices. I didn't really care about slice serving or whatever, so we just served ourselves. Our server also had really slow service. Perhaps it was because we were speaking in a different language? When we asked for a bag to carry our pizza boxes home, our server said "what? What? You want a bag? Its a box you can just carry it." We told him it was because we were walking home. He then reluctantly gave us one bag. One. For two people. I left him a nice 20% tip because i thought maybe he treated us badly because of our race and the stigma on bad tipping. First trip to Chicago, so deep dish from one of the more famed spots was a MUST! The pizza for me was just....pretty good. Not good, def not great, just "pretty good". I appreciated that the crust was super crispy, and the pie was filled with great ingredients and a slathering of cheese..a LOT of cheese by the way, but the sauce seemed a bit underseasoned to me, and there wasn't enough of it. I would have liked more sauce. In any case, I'd go back. It will be great to go to Lou Malnati's or Pequod's next time I'm in Chicago, to compare though. read more

I had to grab a random waiter, since ours was nowhere to be see. The manager never showed up by the way. After I paid the bill I spotted a Very nonchalant bored-looking guy that the "hostess" identified as the manager. I told him What I thought of our experience there. He could not have cared less. I got a blank stare and a hollow apology. I will say this. Once we got what we ordered it was very good. However, this manager is not running a tight ship and You WILL WAIT way too long. Don't expect anybody that works there to care about it either. Now I know why the line at Lou Malnoti's is So long. Avoid this Giordono's at all cost. My first authentic Chicago deep dish pizza! Busy, noisy but lots of fun. You can order your pizza while you are waiting for your table (very helpful as it takes an hour for the pizza to be made). We had a little one with us who needed some finger foods and our Server brought us a little bowl of cheese which was eaten with gusto and very much enjoyed by our tiny dinner companion. Us girls just wanted to enjoy an appetizer and some drinks and the host made it seem like since they were closing soon they didn't want us. This was a convenient spot to get drinks & a bite to eat before heading to Soldier Field for the Stadium Series game. Just got here at 9:30pm and waited an hour to hear that my pizza was never even put in the system. The server was very apologetic but to hear from the manager that was working Monday night 12/26/16 that I would have to wait another 45 min to only get my pizza half off instead of comp'd 100% like every other restaurant I have worked for in my life would do. Giordano's ownership and management team has a lot to work on knowing it is a chain restaurant and understand that when it is their mistake, you accommodate the customer 100% especially after waiting over 45 min. I just had a terrible experience with this location. A few months ago, my husband and I ordered a pizza. An hour later, we received a call that our order was cancelled because the restaurant had lost power. To compensate, the manager offered us a credit. Tonight, we decided to use our credit, but when we called the restaurant their systems were down and no one was able to verify our credit. After 20 minutes on hold, I was able to speak to the manager (Steven) who told me that he needed a way to verify the credit because, "I'm not going to hand out free pizzas all night." We had calamari for appetizer and after that I ate two pieces and wife one and we were full. Endless cheese sauce very good not too strong and not overdone with sauce.
