However, the line was moving very quickly and we had to maybe wait 5 minutes before being shown to our seats. They do ask you to be done in an hour because of the traffic, which was completely fine with us. Once I finally received my coffee, it was a very good coffee. I ordered a decaf date chocolate latte with oat milk. It is a signature drink on their menu nothing fancy no crazy demands on my end. I ordered it at 9:13 AM for pick up. I arrived at 9:21 and at 9:37, I finally received my coffee. I almost missed my meeting waiting for my coffee. The shop itself is spacious and cutely decorated. It does get quite busy, so plan accordingly. They have a wide variety of unique drink flavors to choose from! We got a regular cappuccino and a banana latte. Both were delicious-- not bitter and not overly sweet. The service was okay. The barista who called our drink orders rolled their eyes and scoffed when we came to get it. I've been dying to try Goddess and the Baker and I finally made it. Decided to try it for breakfast on our way back home. It was a short walk from our hotel. Luckily, we beat the crowd which came on shortly after we arrived. The food was amazing! I had the omelet with avocado and an iced smoked vanilla latte. We were staying nearby and I saw good rating of this place so we were excited to try it. It was okay honestly not quite worth the hype. You order at the counter inside first. We were taking it to go so we waited outside. They just call your name as your items are done. I got one of the seasonal lattes and it just wasn't sweet enough for me. My husband's cold brew was so thick and heavy, it was like drinking diesel fuel. (Or what I imagine what it's like to) I got the morning sandwich and I should have asked because I was bummed to see it on regular bread. They have such tasty looking pastries, I just expected something different. It was definitely something I could have made at home. We also got the chocolate croissant and that was really good. While visiting Chicago, I stopped by here since my cousin loves this place. I ordered the tiramisu latte, which I haven't seen before so wanted to try. The best way to describe it was mid. It wasn't bad but wasn't great either. The brownie I got wasn't too special either. It was a darker cocoa than I've had before - not that it's bad to be a darker chocolate, I personally wasn't a fan. The tiramisu coffee and confetti cookie were subpar though - the cookie was ridiculously dry. I wanted to like this place because it is so cute, decor is cute and the vibes seem like they could be great but like some previous reviews, it is unorganized and a little chaotic. We were in line, we're told we needed to get in line behind a gentleman, but he let us go because we had been standing in what we thought was the line. My drink is okay, seems very watery, like it has been sitting awhile but the flavor seems great! I do think this place could be awesome, just wasn't a huge hit today. To add after submission, my friend's drink never came and she had to go inside and ask about it. We waited about 10 minutes before asking. When we went in, the guy making the drinks said they're at about a 10 minute wait and I tried to tell him we hadn't just ordered. What a yummy find in Chicago! Goddess and the Baker has a couple locations and we stopped by this spot for a late lunch. Even though it was later in the afternoon, this place was bumpin! You order at the front and get a number to put on your table so they know where to bring your items. What we had: 1) chipotle ranch wrap with fried chicken- nice crunch with lots of veggies. 2) steak and eggs bowl. High in protein. A little smaller than expected but still delish. 3) drinks: goddess cold brew and bananas foster cold drink. They were both good- bananas foster was a little rich. Customer service is super friendly and the food was great. It was a little more expensive than I was anticipating but the quality was high and the ingredients were fresh. A great breakfast place to try! I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It's nicely decorated and there are cute decorations throughout the restaurant. There's a lot of seating, however, since it's such a popular cafe, there's still limited seating. They only allow seating for those who are dining in, so all of the tables says "reserved." The service was good. The cashiers and employees were helpful. The food didn't take too long to make. I went during a busy time, and they did well on bringing my food within a mannered time. I had their sunrise burrito which I enjoyed! It had avocado in it that went well with the eggs, beans, and added bacon. I will be a Goddess and the Baker stan!!!! It is such a good coffee place and my opinion will not change. We had spent the morning at millenium park walking around and the museum and we needed a little afternoon pick me up and this was perfect. We were able to get some coffee and food and it was great. I opted for my cafe bon bon again and throughly enjoyed it and also enjoyed some blueberry loaf. Overall everything was delicious but I do think I preferred the location in River North instead. Finally seemed like time to visit; I've only been working a couple blocks away for six and a half years. The place is incredibly loud. To the extent that I wouldn't be able to hear someone if we came here to eat, and I would not sit in with my daughter but might come in and out for a drink. If you're someone who likes a quiet place to work or study this is not the place. They have a great selection of pastries! I picked up something that I called a cruffin, I think?--it looks like a muffin, but is made from laminated dough (like a croissant), and has a cinnamon roll icing. It was quite good. I also picked up a tiramisu cookie for us to share and the cookie was pretty good, but it had a strong coffee flavor and I don't like coffee. If you like coffee and sweets, though, this may be totally up your alley. The service was friendly, and the woman who took my order super nice. Besides the pastries--and what I actually came in for--was to try the prickly pair chai which is one of their current drink specials. It was soooo good! I haven't had anything like it before. So interesting to pair the pear and chai. I'll be coming back for another soon! Unless something particularly special was happening today, sustainability is a pillar by which they build their business. I was in Chicago for a wedding and it took five days to wander throughout many parts of Chicago.
