I ordered this pizza through DoorDash, and for whatever reason the price markup is pretty ridiculous. That said, the pizza itself was good--just a simple pepperoni pizza. I do wish there was a way to customize it with things like basil, extra pepperoni, or other add-ons, but that may be more of a DoorDash limitation than the restaurant itself. I would definitely order from them again, with no real complaints. read more

Like so many others, I wanted to experience that nostalgic taste of the Godfather's pizza of my teenage years- the one we had after high school football games, on special occasions, on days dad would pickup on his way home from work, and any occasion we wanted great pizza. Unfortunately, I didn't find that today. Place was spacious, clean, and not very busy inside on a Friday lunchtime. We did see quite a few delivery services come in for takeout. The young man behind the counter was helpful and friendly, both taking orders and bringing pizzas out to the few customers dining inside. We ordered two medium pizzas, which we knew were going to be too much, but we wanted to have the right "toppings to crust" ratio and figured we would take the rest home. $42 later (with a "first timer" discount), we had one Italian sausage and mushroom, one bacon cheeseburger, both on Original crust because we thought that would be the "original" from back then. Nice cheese pull but surprisingly on the bland side for both. The crust definitely wasn't what I remembered at all- bland, doughy, too chewy in the middle. I even left the crust edges on the plate, which I never do, because it was so flavorless. We brought most of it home and, as it sits now in the fridge, I sadly feel like it will end up in the trash. Will give it one more try at some point, maybe trying the Golden Crust to see if that's better or more familiar, but this visit wasn't it, and especially not for more than a $50 lunch with tip. read more

Wow! Great taste, and awesome customer service. They just opened after the brand's 40 year absence in the San Antonio area! Loved the crust, sauce, and cheese! Solid basics and many combinations of crust types and toppings! Definitely try the seasoned potato wedges! We did not have a good experience here. We ordered 2 pizzas (1 personal, and 1 medium) and 1 soda, which came out to $43. There were very few people in the restaurant, one family came in before us, so once they got there pizza ours should have been next. You can see on the ticket in the picture, we placed the order at 1:27, giving us an estimate of the food to be done by 1:52. After placing our order it took 35 min for us to receive the small personal pizza- around 2:10. I had to go to the front desk to ask about the medium pizza (at 2:15pm), by the time someone got back to us it had been 50 min from the time we placed the order- but they were letting us know the pizza was made incorrectly (with olives, and we asked for no olives). So they needed to remake the pizza- 20 min later they brought the pizza and said to us the cook got confused with a different order. This was very interesting, and frustrating that it took a total of 1 hr + to get the right pizza. When we got the pizza we asked for it to be in a to go box since it took so long- sadly when we got home to eat it the pizza was raw in the middle and there was so much sauce on the pizza all the toppings fell off and landed in the box. So spending $23 on a medium pizza that was inedible was frustrating to say the least. Maybe this pizza is okay, but that is not what we received. And it was a waist of $43 for sure. read more

It was my first time ever having Godfather's Pizza. I missed out on them after they left town 40 years ago. The place inside is clean and spacious. Salads are good. Pizza crust is thick but not too thick, cheese and toppings are plentiful. Service was good. Their monkey bread dessert is big enough for 2 people. I recommend them over Pizza Hut. read more

A group of us went and tried the newly opened Godfather's Pizza tonight. It was delicious and did not disappoint! The pizzas we got were a taco (thin crust), bacon cheeseburger (thin crust), 1/2 cheese 1/2 pepperoni (original crust) and a ham, mushroom and green olive (golden crust). The pizza was fresh, hot and very well made with lots of toppings and they weren't skimpy. The staff was helpful and very friendly. It was busy but the line to order moved quick.The downfalls, the dining area is ok sized but not super large. It was pretty pricey for pizza BUT there is no taco pizza around here and it's worth it! Give it a try if you have never had it, if you like tacos you will enjoy this pizza! (FYI tip If you get the pizza to go, when you get home crush some Doritos on top, you can thank me later!) read more

Even though the food is good, the service is the worst. Took over an hour waiting to find out our pizza hadn't even been started yet!!! What??? One freaking medium pizza and a whole hour later, I canceled it. That is just ridiculous. Other customers were also waiting and found out their pizza was not started as well. Do better Godfathers!!! This location just opened up and we decided to skip dine-in and get a takeout order. the website was super easy to navigate and pay. We ordered a Jumbo Thin crust Classico with jalapeño's added and an order of boneless wings. My order was supposed to be ready in 45 minutes and we were quite surprised when we showed up early and it was actually ready. It was nice and hot and the smell was incredible. The young lady at the window was very professional and courteous. The food was amazing. We will definitely be back to try out some of their other items. read more

This is probably the best pizza I have ever had. It was close to perfect. Crust was buttery and crisp, the right amount of topping, cheese was melty, and good amount of sauce. Too bad I was only visiting the area but definitely a place I would come back to if I ever came back to San Antonio. My only complaint would be that they needed to do a better job of bussing the tables. It was pretty busy and there were a lot of tables that needed to be cleaned. My husband grew up eating Godfather's, so we had to try out the new location. He got his traditional taco pizza, but it wasn't quite the same. Yes, there's tons of cheese, but I can't speak to the meat. It seemed to be hidden. When comparing the prices against other locations, these seem to be ~$8 higher. Very disappointed. Wanted to give the place a try. I placed an order for the Taco Pizza & a medium 1/2 Bacon/Pepperoni 1/2 Bacon Pineapple. Almost 60.00 for the two pizzas. They messed up the order no pineapples were on the pizza and instead of correcting the order they gave my daughter who picked up the pizza a cup of pineapples. Called and talked to the manager. He advised that they're getting ready to close and would make a note to that a replacement pizza would be under my number when I call back in. Well you probably guessed it... I called today and no pizza or record of that manager note on file and the manager on duty is the same one I talk to 5days ago and get "no remember" Yea ok.. This has to be the WORST pizza delivery I have ever had to deal with. We ordered pizza delivery at 5:54 pm on January 1, 2026 and when we haven't received our pizzas after an hour and a half, we call the store to be told they will remake it and we can come pick it up in 15-20 minutes. We get a call back 10 minutes or so later that the pizzas have been picked up and will be delivered shortly. We wait another 30 minutes and NO PIZZA so we call back and are told that we can come pick up our pizzas. So 2 1/2 to 3 hours after we order the pizzas we finally get to go pick them up at like 8:00 p.m. So the manager says he will refund our money and will call us on January 2, 2026 and give us a confirmation number. He calls at 12:56 p.m. on January 2, 2026 and tells us we will get a complete refund of $123.00 and he will email us the confirmation and everything and it could take a few days for the refund to post. So when we don't get a refund and its January 12, 2026 I call and ask to talk to the manager and was told he would call me back around 8:30 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. once he closed. I NEVER received that call I was promised but did receive and email with a refund of $13.47!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! The tip and delivery fee after we waiting damn near 3 hours for pizza and had to come get the damn pizza ourselves!! This establishment and there management are HORRIBLE!! Customer service was fine. The pizza not so much. We took it to go. We ordered the jalapeño and pepperoni. The crust was a little too thick and very dense. I have to say, and I'm not exaggerating, but it was about one slice of a jalapeño, per slice, about 10-12. Tons of cheese, so I'm guessing there was pepperoni in there somewhere. The cheese did overpower the whole pie. The taste was bland, as if water was added to the sauce. We tried the potatoes, where we thought was weird for a pizza place to have as a side, and they were equally bland, and also had a freezer taste. My son said they smell like butter and potatoes, but didn't taste like them. Dry and chalky. It's been quite a while since we had this pizza from Godfathers. I'm guessing it will be quite a while again. There are other better tasting places, and won't cost close to $60 for a pizza, potatoes, and wings. Not very budget friendly. I know they barely opened, but if you can't make a good tasting pizza, maybe that shouldn't be your main entree. read more
