Steak (Medium), Fried Fish, and Broiled Fish
    Ian A.

Golden Corral Buffet (Covina) surpassed my low expectations. My family and I left happy and full... (Tip: Dinner starts 4:00PM. However, I noticed a flood of elderly customers arriving 3:45PM. The Lunch Buffet Price is $16.99 per adult. That's six dollars cheaper than the dinner price. I will attach a photo of the prices.) [FOOD] Golden Corral Buffet (Covina) genuinely impressed me. The foods are hit-or-miss, some food trays looked crusty and aged, but many others are fresh and tasty. It's an adventure! Here's a list of tasty and not-tasty options. Yucky Options: -Mashed Potatoes and Gravy tastes cheap. It tasted like rehydrated powder. These oozy potatoes had a sad unpleasant aftertaste. The gravy had a good peppery flavor but its thick and sludge-like. -Fried fish tasted mushy. Its breading is well seasoned, but the fish tasted a bit old. -Agua Fresca beverage at the refill station tasted bitter. The Agua Fresca had a sweet cough syrup taste. -The ICEE machine quickly made my joy turn into sadness. I pulled on the banana flavor icee and it plopped out a strange melted liquid. No ICEE... -Lastly, the melted cheese station and pot roast station looked very old. So I stayed away. It had a crusty top and the pot roast meat had an unusual sheen. Tasty Options!!: -Clam Chowder tastes... delicious!! It reminded me of the Clam Chowder I'd buy near the shoreline. Soft potatoes, peppery chowder broth, and solid clams. Pleasant surprise. -Cheeseburger is thick and well-seasoned! I felt nostalgic eating this big burger as it reminded me of those hamburger buffets on cruise ships. The bread is soft, and the meat patty is satisfying. Yum! -Fried Chicken is a definite hit. It's crisp, fresh, and well-seasoned. -Broiled Fish tastes bright and zesty. It's little mushy, but it's a good flavor. Meatloaf is also tasty! I enjoyed the familiar meatloaf taste. -When dinner buffet opens, order the steak! A staff member appeared near 4:00PM and cooked steak by the grill section. I requested medium, and it came out tender and juicy! Pleasant surprise! The jumbo popcorn shrimp are also a tasty dinner option. [Service] Staff is welcoming and friendly. Customers pay at the front counter, place receipt at an empty table, and fetch a plate for food. Eventually, another staff member arrives to introduce themselves. The staff member (Andrea) introduced herself, signed her name on the receipt, and occasionally appeared to clean away the empty plates. Andrea visited our table about three times. She is pleasant but hidden. [Ambiance] Most surprisingly, Golden Corral Buffet (Covina) is a very large, clean, and shiny location. There's quiet 2010s music playing in the background (ex: Last Friday Night by Katy Perry). The large location is also filled with elderly senior citizens and large families (tip: kids three years old and younger eat free). It's a very casual Chuck e' Cheese vibe sometimes as I observed kids throwing a small stuffed animal around the empty dining area near the crane game arcade for 10+ minutes. Overall, Golden Corral Buffet (Covina) offers amazing prices for some delicious food. There are some dishes that worried me (ex: dessert station looked unkempt, Mexican food section looked aged) but the unlimited tasty food is sincerely yummy. Golden Corral Buffet (Covina) has a lot of untapped potential if prepared just right. Decent option. 3.8 / 5

Salad that tasted sour and an edible piece of ham that was cold.

The only reason I gave 1star is because I can't leave zero stars! The food selection is definitely not that of a Golden Corral! Salad bar had no sense of offerings... coming to a buffet is one of my favorite things because I can load up on salad and good toppings and good tasting dressings... today's ranch tasted sour could not eat! A few protein options but looked meh ... definitely not worth my $17 disappointing is an understatement! Come on Golden Corral do better!

The roast beef, fried chicken, and menudo-pozole combo were definite hits for me. Was not fond of any of their desserts although the carrot cake was nice. The chocolate cake was dry, soft-serve ice cream was grainy. The blueberry pie was d!sgust!ng. Our Wait-staff Claudia was awesome. Service with a smile. I like that the tables were not scrunched up next to each other like most buffet places. Used dishes were picked up in a timely manner. Tables were cleaned when the diners are done. It was a casual but enjoyable dining experience.

This was our first visit to this establishment. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and Manager Alfredo provided outstanding service. We noted the restaurant's cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere; please see the attached photographs. We suggest reviewing the temperature of certain meats and entrées; while adequately warm, a slightly higher temperature would be preferable. Otherwise, we highly recommend this restaurant for family gatherings and social events, offering excellent value.

Went recently, August 2025. Everything was good, steak was medium rare. Lots of food freshly prepared. Always have a good meal here. Highly recommended.

We ordered to go and Eric the guy who answered the phone did a phenomenal job. We had lot of questions about the different combos and which deals would be better. Eric was EXTREMELY patient, which you don't see often nowadays. Servers are always spread so thin they don't have the patience to deal with us over the phone. Eric did not give that vibe that at all. He gave the BEST customer service we've gotten in a while. So a sincere thank you Eric! On top of that, we are about a 10-15 min drive away from this location. We usually accept it's going to be mediocre or decent by the time we get home. Plot twist, the food was actually well cooked and perfectly seasoned when we got home! This is one happy fatty.

There is plenty of seating inside and they have some outside, if you're inclined. We got here early enough, so there were no crowds, sat right at the bar. All in all, it was a pleasant experience! I would come back again for happy hour.

I will gladly and without hesitation put Canyon City Barbeque up there as some of the best Barbeque I have ever had in my life. When I say I dream of their Barbeque, I mean it. Just writing this review my mouth is salivating as I think back on the food. We ordered the Canyon City Sampler, and it is without a doubt the way to go if it's your first time. It was enough meat for 3 hungry adults with leftovers. The sampler let us to try every cut of meat they had, and every cut is barbecued to the highest level of quality for the cut. The brisket and ribs were our personal favorites. I was also blown away by how perfect the chicken was. Every side is pure deliciousness. Don't sleep on the cornbread. I wish we would've ordered even more. The texture is perfect. Crisp crunch on the outside and perfect moisture on the inside. The way cornbread should be. The Mac and cheese and coleslaw were absolutely delicious as well. We all wish we would've bought some of their Barbeque sauce to take home. They have 2 main sauces, one for pork and one for beef. I would happily drown myself in either. Our server was very polite, attentive, and made amazing recommendations (though I'm now convinced I could close my eyes, point at the menu, and be a happy camper lol) I seldom have reason to be in the area, but I now will be looking forward to making a trip back to specifically to grab some Canyon City Barbeque.

Before, the place felt super homey, welcoming and the vibes were just there. A diner you would actually want to go weekly with your family or even a solo trip. Whoever bought the place absolutely GUTTED the soul and warmth out of the space. Before, the walls were covered with different legit retro signs of Betty Boop or funny wall frames, pictures of families, regulars, collection of license plates, the whole 9 yards. The windows were always decorated seasonally and if you were to see the place from the street, you would actually want to stop by and check it out. Now... it feels like a cold gym locker. The walls looked like they picked the cheapest blue and black paint they could get on sale and threw it on the walls without priming them first. LED signs to give it that cheap retro look that isn't it. Should have kept it how it was if retro is what you were going for. Also invest in toilet seat covers, raw dogging the toilet seat isn't for everyone. Not sure if it's the pipes or maybe the mop wasn't cleaned right, but the women's restroom smelled like wet dog. Service was great. The former owner served us, she was a but rushed but nonetheless, great hospitality. She welcomed every guest with such warmth and like an old friend. Didn't catch the name of the guy with the gauges, but he had great service as well. The food was all right. Definitely too well seasoned and salty. The waffles and pancakes were bland, not even the butter or syrup was able to save them. Add more vanilla or cinnamon to the batter if they're made from scratch. The plates are no longer glass or ceramic, they are now a hard plastic material, so don't cut too hard on them to prevent getting some mircoplastics on your food. We spent about $82.00 on 3 food items, a coffee with refills and an apple juice. This place is STILL CASH so bring cash or use their ATM machine.

I literally just finished eating. Walking into the restaurant you get this whiff of, 'Whatever that is I want some, and now please!" I came during the lunch rush and believe me, they had a line for a very good reason. The inside of the restaurant was small and outdated, but if there's one thing you know about mom and pop shops like that, is that it is either a hit or miss. And boy does the fish slap. Yesssir!! Suddenly the interior decor doesn't matter at all. The fish pieces are HUGE!!! I ordered a 3-piece and what it definitely looked like I got was at least a 5-piece. The crunch of the batter to the flakiness of the fish.. ugh. Makes me want to go back just thinking about it. The tartar sauce and malt vinegar paired along so nicely.. my mouth is watering again. I got some cole slaw and fries to go along with my meal. The cole slaw wasn't too creamy nor too watery. Just the right mixture of sauces with the right hint of pineapple. Phone orders constantly and a 3-4 customers filtering in and out constantly. The staff here were very kind and welcoming. I went with the $9 2pc fish and chips since it was my first time. Wait times are long as they receive so many ordered. I had to wait about 20 minutes before I got my order. I ended up trying it and eating outside at the patio tables. The size of these filets are humongous! The batter looks amazing and it's hot and fresh. Steam coming through as you bite into them. My first thoughts are they are a reliable spot for some fish and chips. The flavors were not too salty and I'd say for me the tartar was just aight for me. Overall, I enjoyed the fish and chips. I saved one for my wife for home and she enjoyed it as well. I appreciated the portion sizes very much at Carnaby St. and the price point is something you cannot beat in today's time.
