I have nothing but good things to say about this GC location. I came in to check the availability of their large, private room, as I was planning an end-of-season dinner for our high school marching band, which consists of over 65 people in our group, including students and parents. To my surprise, the room was available for the date I requested, so I went ahead and booked it. I met with the general manager, Alfredo, who was extremely accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Alfredo advised me that I could leave ANY amount as a deposit to hold the large banquet room for our group, so I left $50.00. While discussing details about our upcoming visit, I noticed how clean the restaurant is maintained, how organized it is, and how every chair, table, and condiment was kept at each table. I used to eat there almost everyday, haven't been there since Dec. 2024. Today I ran iinto one of employees, she told me they closed in January. Only thing I didn't like was I saw flies around the food. I made suggestion and told waiter perhaps management could hang a few fly catchers. They work very well. He said he would tell manager. The foods are hit-or-miss, some food trays looked crusty and aged, but many others are fresh and tasty. It's an adventure! Here's a list of tasty and not-tasty options. Yucky Options: -Mashed Potatoes and Gravy tastes cheap. It tasted like rehydrated powder. These oozy potatoes had a sad unpleasant aftertaste. The gravy had a good peppery flavor but its thick and sludge-like. -Fried fish tasted mushy. Its breading is well seasoned, but the fish tasted a bit old. -Agua Fresca beverage at the refill station tasted bitter. The Agua Fresca had a sweet cough syrup taste. -The ICEE machine quickly made my joy turn into sadness. I pulled on the banana flavor icee and it plopped out a strange melted liquid. No ICEE... -Lastly, the melted cheese station and pot roast station looked very old. So I stayed away. It had a crusty top and the pot roast meat had an unusual sheen. Tasty Options!!: -Clam Chowder tastes... delicious!! It reminded me of the Clam Chowder I'd buy near the shoreline. Soft potatoes, peppery chowder broth, and solid clams. Pleasant surprise. -Cheeseburger is thick and well-seasoned! I felt nostalgic eating this big burger as it reminded me of those hamburger buffets on cruise ships. The bread is soft, and the meat patty is satisfying. Yum! -Fried Chicken is a definite hit. It's crisp, fresh, and well-seasoned. -Broiled Fish tastes bright and zesty. It's little mushy, but it's a good flavor. Meatloaf is also tasty! I enjoyed the familiar meatloaf taste. -When dinner buffet opens, order the steak! A staff member appeared near 4:00PM and cooked steak by the grill section. I requested medium, and it came out tender and juicy! Pleasant surprise! The jumbo popcorn shrimp are also a tasty dinner option. [Service] Staff is welcoming and friendly. Customers pay at the front counter, place receipt at an empty table, and fetch a plate for food. Eventually, another staff member arrives to introduce themselves. The staff member (Andrea) introduced herself, signed her name on the receipt, and occasionally appeared to clean away the empty plates. Andrea visited our table about three times. She is pleasant but hidden. [Ambiance] Most surprisingly, Golden Corral Buffet (Covina) is a very large, clean, and shiny location. There's quiet 2010s music playing in the background (ex: Last Friday Night by Katy Perry). The large location is also filled with elderly senior citizens and large families (tip: kids three years old and younger eat free). It's a very casual Chuck e' Cheese vibe sometimes as I observed kids throwing a small stuffed animal around the empty dining area near the crane game arcade for 10+ minutes. Overall, Golden Corral Buffet (Covina) offers amazing prices for some delicious food. There are some dishes that worried me (ex: dessert station looked unkempt, Mexican food section looked aged) but the unlimited tasty food is sincerely yummy. And I forgot the lady who cleaned and helped us her name started with an a her she was older Filipino or Asian lady but she was so nice friendly and respectful I go back it's because of her hospitality and the cleansingness of the food court. read more

We came for Sunday brunch with a friend, and food was hot and perfect if you want comfort food. We enjoyed the steak and fried fish best. Everything else was good for the price. We liked that they offered toppings for the soft serve, and they had icee too! The staff were so helpful and friendly. They came to check on us often and help clear the tables several times. One older gentleman staff cleaning gave my kids some coins to play on the claw machine because they kept pretending to play while we ate. The food was typical buffet. The omelet station didn't have anyone present to make an omelet. I asked the busboy and he found someone. By then there were 6 people behind me. I couldn't get the orange juice machine to work. Luckily I found the same busboy again. He said it's out of order. I lightly suggested a sign should be placed on it. This location has some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Not oily, perfectly cooked. The oil they use is always clean you can tell with fried foods. Even donuts. This place is the best. But? My first Golden Corral experience ever! I was debating between Downey, which was slightly closer, but chose to go to the Covina location as it was newer and had a little bit better reviews. I came few weeks ago on Sunday at around noon to get the dinner menu as it came with steak. From the start, everything was great. You go up, pre-pay and then you find your own seats, which was fine. There was quite a bit of people, but we were able to find some booths further back which was nice. You do have to pay for a drink cup, but it's unlimited refills. To the food. Everything was pretty decent. The only issue I had was the steak. I came specifically for the steak. The first piece I got, I asked for medium and the inside actually look perfect. When cutting into it though, I knew that was far from tender. It was very much like cutting into plastic. The chew was exactly what you'd expect, horrible. The 2nd piece was overcooked, but at least it was eatable. Same with the 3rd piece, overcooked but eatable. The shame is that the flavor is actually great, but the meat itself and the doneness was severely lacking. If the steak was perfect, this would be a 5 stars for me. I don't expect any high end, fancy, over the top, and this place hit the spot. The restaurant was clean and the dishes were removed in a timely manner. They had a wide array of foods from fish, chicken, salad, desserts and so forth. I SPECFICIALLY liked their chicken wings and would definitely go back for those. Those are high value items! Their baked fish was great as well. Overall, all the foods were pretty good and I'd definitely come back, but maybe for non-dinner hours since the steak did not live up to my expectations. read more

Ever since this Golden corral on arrow Highway and citrus opened up, I've been ordering their dark meat/thighs 12 of them through Uber eats. This chicken taste almost as good as my mothers rest in peace mom. I called in to speak with the manager to see if I could just get the dark meat thighs without drumsticks, cause I don't like drumsticks And Marco's hooked me up! He gave me 12 dark meat. the place is very clean because I've been there before, the ambience is excellent but if you're disabled like I am, I'm a disabled veteran for United States military, you can order through Uber eats. The food is fresh, hot, and very tasty. You don't have to order chicken like I did, but whatever you order I'm sure it'll be just as tasty. Came here for the first time for any of the restaurants' establishments. This was a grand opening very recently. So cleanliness was very good, very well staffed, I was in towards the end of the night right before closing, so I didn't experience the craziness most of these places look like (thank goodness). The food, is just like any other buffet honestly. It's good, not crazy good, plenty dessert, ice cream n such. The wow part was the steaks they were serving, I couldn't believe it! They gave outback a run for their money honestly! I was there with my two kids, even though there was plenty staff, no one was helpful enough to even acknowledge or check us in. We were never given utensils, (I'm not one to go up and demand stuff of people) . So we settled with the dessert spoons (owell). Was really excited when I found out finally golden coral is opening on our area! But was really disappointed my last experience with golden coral in city of Industry and it was really good. But this location is by far one of the worst buffet I have ever been to. We went around dinner was 7pm on a Thursday not much people some not busy and some most of the food they have pretty much looks like been seating there and all dried up already. Went to the steak by the grill they have some over cooked steak and they are still serving it to the other guests I did requested medium rare the guy who put the meat in the grill is wearing gloves realizes that he was cleaning next to the grill and keeps on spraying this liquid to clean up. I did try to tell the other server but really hard to explain since most of the staff only speaks Spanish. The plates are mostly dirty with old food stain not to mention the forks.. The steak finally done got served and the meat tasted old and no flavor. Again I was thinking maybe we came in late that's why food is like that I wanted to give it another chance.
