My car was having problems overheating in the middle of heavy traffic so I took it to Golden Triangle because it was nearby. I left it over night so they could diagnose it the next day. They said it'd cost $60 for the diagnosis, not ideal, but I know it's pretty standard to charge. The next day they said they topped it off with a little coolant but couldn't find anything else wrong with it so I could come pick it up. When I was about to hand them my credit card at the front desk, they said they weren't going to charge me because they didn't "do anything " (his words). I was shocked by how honest they were. They now have a customer for life. Update: so far my car's been running fine. read more

EDIT: MATT IS GONE, BIZ HAS GONE DOWNHILL, FAST. I called to book an appointment - 10 days. The guy on the phone was awful - I lost my 4WD - they could not take me. Went to another shop (Community) they had my car done in 2 days - that is 8 days before Golden could even 'fit me in' This was a $2,200 repair. Sorry Golden! Place is ok. I've been to a few too many auto shops. I'm not an expert (by any means) with auto parts. In my previous experiences, the Auto Shops have been less than helpful in their explanation of the parts 'I need.' This shop is the exception, I came in for a tire repair and walked out with 4 new tires. And I could not be happier. Matt and his staff were incredibly helpful in my tire choice. I went in, thinking I needed top of the line tires. The guys at the shop, both recommended a tire, which was 60% of the price of the original tire I was looking at. Hmm, a shop that recommends something other than the diamond version, yes please. Anyways, this is a small shop, but I am very impressed with them. You will not be disappointed. My husband called and spoke to Mason about doing a 10,000 mile maintenance on our daughter's Toyota Tacoma truck. My husband was promptly updated with a list of items that had been checked and to our pleasure was told everything was fine. They promptly provided the requested maintenance so my daughter could pick it up at her earliest convenience. Took my vehicle here a few months back to get an oil change and replace the brakes which were long overdue. Originally chose this shop based on the positive reviews, but it seems like there are more 1 star reviews now. The instant I drove it out of the shop, I felt like the brakes off, as if it wasn't stopping as fast as before (I was negligent and wore the brakes down to metal on metal). Figured it might be that I wasn't used to driving the minivan (it's my wife's commuter) compounded with new brakes. When my wife made the same comment, we decided to take it to a second mechanic. They confirmed the front-right caliper was broken, meaning we were only braking on 3 wheels. They mentioned there were signs to fix the part that was broken off. I can say for certain that I felt even braking prior to bringing the vehicle in. I don't know if the Tilden mechanics broke the caliper, signs point to yes but there's no way to prove it. I'm not leaving a 1 star over that. They earned the 1 star for billing me for brake service then letting me roll out of their shop with a malfunctioning caliper. They either didn't perform a test drive after finishing their work (big no-no, especially when servicing brakes that my toddler rides in) or they performed the test drive and weren't able to tell (clear signs of incompetence if both my wife and I immediately felt a difference). I may have just gotten the one negligent mechanic they have there. One bad apple ruins the bunch. read more

Wow, and I mean, WOW! I will be back here again. The company I work for brings our fleet in for maintenance and emergency care, which is where I heard of this place to begin with. My clutch went out and I barely made it to their parking lot. They were getting ready to close but Mason got me set up for an appointment the next day. I was really worried about my car, and John followed up with me a couple times the following day. Luckily- they must've not been too booked because they were able to get my car fixed quickly. I'm obsessed with my car, so I'm pretty picky about where I take it. I will be coming back here again after my personal experience. Now I know why the company I work for trusts these dudes. John called me the day after I picked my car up to follow up with me/ make sure everything was gravy - which was awesome. The cherry on top on my whole experience came a few days later in the mail. I received a hand-written post card thanking me for my business and trust. Dude that wrote it had the handwriting of a 9-year-old, but it's the thought that counts. I would not recomment this place to anybody. All they were interested in was taking our money. Our Honda Accord had a check engine light on and a burning rubber smell coming from under the hood, Within 3 min. of opening the hood, I was able to find where the smell was coming from. (A leak in the power steering pressure hose). After dropping the car off with Tilden Car Care, I get a call from Kevin saying his technicain found the problem. He said the valve cover gaskets were bad and that it would be around $500.( I'm glad my girlfriend didn't answer and tell him to fix something that couldn't be farther from the problem). After telling him to go look again, because he was wrong, he said that I was right and the power steering hose was leaking onto the valve covers. ( I find it very disturbing, that I, who has just basic preventive maintance skills was able to diagnose the problem, and Tilden's so called profesionals could not.) After the correct dianosis was determined, he quoted me a price of $85, and he reccomened a system flush for $95. He also told me that a diagnostic test to determine the check engine light was going to be another $100. After telling him to just fix the hose, that was quoted at $85, he went out into the shop. When he came back, he said there was a problem. He didn't realize the car a wasn't a 4 cylinder and that it was a 6, and it was going to be $200 for labor. Wow, pretty bad professionals, if they can't tell what size engine our car had. I told him no thanks. After doing some asking around in the Northwest Denver area, I found a local independent shop that was highly recommended. This shop did all the work, replaced the hose, system flush, and a diagnostic test on the check engine light all for $80 plus tax. Sorry this is long, but I feel everybody who is considering this place to please look else where. These guys were far from professional! read more

Marc was extremely nice, even suggesting a local coffee place for me to go wait, and the work (oil change and tire rotation) was done quickly and well. I've been bringing my Honda Accord to Tilden since I moved to Denver in 2013. They've always been very honest and considerate. I like that it's easy to get an appointment, they'll call you during the day to provide you an update and have you car ready when promised. They also offer coupons on their website as well as at King Soopers so you can find a good deal on an oil change and tire rotation. Needed a transmission for my son's 2009 HHR and couldn't afford the dealership price. Matt at Tilden found us a used transmission and had the car repaired quick. We brought the car in on a Thursday and had the car back by the next Tuesday. BEWARE! They RUINED my brand new car here. I went in for a standard mileage checkup and Tilden failed to replace my coolant. 2 years later my car has overheated 3 times and now I need to get a new head gasket due to warping from the initial overheat. This all started after they worked on my car. Other mechanics have confirmed this. After all said and done, they gave me a free car wash....really? Apparently they seem to think this is normal and it is ok for a person to have their car towed back into service the day after a standard check-up. They have been no help in this matter. Not pleased with my service at all. They were not polite on the phone or helpful. Took all day for them once I towed my car in to take a look at it when I knew it was just a starter issue (which they did fix). Got the car back and four days later it wouldn't start again. I called and they rudely told me they couldn't help me unless the car was in front of them to tell me what was wrong. I decided to tow it to another auto shop who was much more courteous and helpful! I had an AMAZING experience here! Everyone was extremely helpful and informative. My car broke down a couple blocks away from my house. The tow company highly recommended TIlden's and I can see why. They drove me back to my house while they worked on the car. They called to update me multiple times, INCLUDING a call to tell me that what they thought as the initial problem was not the actual problem and it was something else that ended up being much cheaper in the end because they didn't have to replace a part they thought they may have to. They were very honest and forthcoming with information. When I went to pick up my car, I told them I would be making a long trip cross country (~1600 miles) and they told me to bring my car in a couple days before I go so they could top off all the fluids for free and give the car another look over to make sure it was good to go for the long drive. I would 100% recommend Tilden's on Speer to anyone with car troubles. I did not have a bad experience and really appreciate all the help they gave!! read more

I went in to this location on Monday, July 10th in order to fix a low tire I had upon starting my day. I originally saw a screw in the tire, which I did not attempt to remove(For fear of rapid leaking). I drove to the aforementioned business after calling and confirming the price on a patch installation. I was told originally that I could take the 1PM appointment, or they could squeeze it in between vehicles. I told the person on the phone(Mason) to do whichever was faster. Around 2pm(Dropoff was at 9:30AM), I called and they hadn't even gotten my car on a jack yet. A simple 15m patch job, and they hadn't even looked at it. Said it would be 45m. Around 3:30PM after I still hadn't received a call, I called them(again). They insist there is no screw and that it is my Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor. They say my seal to that sensor needed to be rebuilt. At this point, I went down to the shop, since I wanted to verify this myself. Given that I couldn't see a screw, and didn't immediately see a hole, I went with what the technician said. After this, drove my car approximately 4 miles down the road, and after going over a small bump, I heard my tire pop off the rim. Pull over to the side of the road, and sure enough the tire is off the rim, and my car hit the ground. The shop at this point is closed, and has no 24 hr line. So I left them a very angry and frustrated Voicemail. I also told them in that voicemail that I expected them to fix the damage to my car. Which from what I can tell was the plastic skiff guard, as well as the rim. I also believed that a scratch along the front in the impact zone was caused from that as well, however the shop insists they have a photo of that before I took the car from the shop(Which I have not seen, nor verified the date/time stamp on). The next morning Mason called me, telling me he just listened to me cuss at him for 5 minutes and that I needed to calm down(Pretty poor customer service considering that the reason I was mad was that I trusted a repair shop to repair my issue, and instead they made it worse). He tells me that he "Isn't going to leave me hanging" and to "Bring the car in, and they'll get it taken care of. " So, I bring the car in around 8:45 am Tuesday,July 12th. They tell me an hour. I get a call an hour and a half later from Mason again, "Sorry, we're going to have to get you a new tire, it'll be a couple of hours." (Which I expected to at least be matching to the other front wheel that it was part of a pair to.) However it was not "A couple of hours." Instead, it was around 3:50PM that I get the call to come pick up my vehicle. I come in, Mason greets me, hands me my keys, and that was that. But when I went outside, the scratch that I pointed out on my rim was still there. The scratch on my bumper was also still there. The only thing they did was put a different tire on it(And not even a matching one) and remount my skiff guard($5 plastic clip). I then go back inside, grab Mason, ask him about the other damage, he looks puzzled(As if I hadn't told him this twice already). He comes out with me, and I now point it out for a third time. He says he needs to think about how he wants to handle it and that he will call me back the next day. About an hour and a half later, he calls to tell me that the scratch that I am saying came from the poor service was "There when it was brought in, and there is a photo of it"(Again, I haven't verified this photo, or even its' existence). He says he will not replace my rim(Which at this point I had looked up and is valued at $135 for the same rim that I have before tax), but that he will come out and grind it out for me(Which I am DEFINITELY not okay with). But the MOST offensive part of all of this is his decision that "He wants to discontinue his relationship" meaning that he will not service the car after this (Obviously. As if I had ever intended on going back.) He then goes on to tell me, "I Should've just sold you a TPMS sensor" All of this is extremely frustrating to me, the customer. I just went in to fix a leak. Now I've got a couple hundred dollars in damage(Even without the scratch that they claim was there prior), and a shop declining to do the very thing they swore they would do(Fix the issue). I should also note that new tire they gave me is currently losing pressure at a slow rate. read more
