Bought a Chevy express truck from this dealership and within an 1 hour already started to having problems. I took it back to the dealership to see what was the problem. They told me that the water pump needs to be replaced and wanted to change me $1000 to replace it. I am not sure how much their hourly rate is but ok. So I took my truck to Cantic Repair, which by the way is the best mechanic shop and the mechanic told me that the main belt was the only thing that needed to be replaced. The dealership was not willing to work on the price and told me that I bought the truck as is. If I haven't gotten a second opinion I would have lost another $1000 at Gold Mill Ford replacing something that didn't need to be replaced. I am truly disappointed with the dealership and they shouldn't hire scam technicians, never going back there again! read more

Misleading, lying, and unethical staff. Margarita contacted me because she wanted to purchase the car I was selling. My price was $18499, for a car in excellent condition. Carmax was selling a very similar one with more miles for 18k. Before I went to this dealership I asked what would be their offer range. Was told that 18499 is more than fair. After coming in for my appointment, a used car manager made me wait an hour before inspecting my car, which was supposed to be only 15min. Margarita never came out of her office to see me. I should have left. Manager told another sales person his offer and then disappeared. LOL. Playing hide and seek with me. Offer was 10k. When I asked for more details, the sales person was showing me cars on cars.com that had twice the mileage and no packages on a car for 13k. This dealership is a complete joke. Was told by Kurt Longoria, the assistant parts manager that the part I was inquiring about was on back order, but he gave me their price for it. When I asked him if he would match the price at another place that I had already checked, he told me since this part was on back order he "was going to make alot of money off of this part, so no, I will not match the price." They had a vehicle with the options we wanted, so I called to get the price. After refusing to email or call me with the price, as most dealers will do, I decided to make the 45 minute drive to go get the price in person. I called before leaving. After waiting around for 15 minutes they attempt to walk me to the parking lot to look at other vehicles because the car had sold. If they offered any value at all - like bothering to go ahead and look up how long it would take them to order the vehicle I want - I might not be writing this review. This is the type of dealer that seethes dishonesty in every interaction and drives people away from the Ford brand. Salesman was friendly and helpful. The dealer sells you whatever car they want to put you in. I bought a brand new car but it was one of their loaner cars for the shop and it's like a used car back seat was dirty and had a stain they didn't really clean the back seat area good and the drivers floor mat don't stay locked in because then plastic locks are broken. You can easily get ripped off here. I have tried contacting them and email and no response from anyone. They don't even give an updated contract when they switch banks on you. I have an 18 y/o Lincoln with low mileage. It broke down and I thought..there goes my independence. The service department, especially Dempsey, goes above and beyond to help you. Constant communication and kindness. They fixed it and the cost was minimal. I had to get an emissions test, and failed. Because I obviously don't drive it far. They took care of me. So far, from this dealer ive purchased 2 vehicles in the past 2 years. Which should alreadybe a huge red flag. I've had my current car 2 weeks and the muffler is falling off, there's a crack in the windshield I didn't see, the breaks recently started having an intermittent pressure issue, and there's been an aftermarket repair to the front passenger wheel well that causes the tire to grind against the wall of the wheel well whenever I turn. Overall, I had a good experience at the representative level, however, during the purchasing of my current vehicle, i asked to see a GMC Acadia and was almost immediately written off. I also did mention the amount of stress I was under in the specific automotive situation I was in with relation to my family, which couldve lead to my impaired ability to look into the matter meticulously. I also spoke with the sales rep, and told him about my personal expectations with what i was looking for in a vehicle in relation to my family. My wife is 37 weeks pregnant with our second child, and now here I am most likely going to have to get repairs done to a vehicle I've been in ownership of for a total of 20 days. Also, I called your service department in relation to the muffler problem. I was told that they most likely didn't have any appointments booked for service, and that the woman whom I spoke with would get in touch with a service advisor and the advisor would get back in contact with me later that day. That was at noon on Friday February 10th 2023. I'm writing this on the 23rd. After contacting them again on the 14th I still haven't heard back. Honestly between that, I will confess that alot of my dis-satisfaction is influenced by the fact that I previously bought a car from the company that resulted in me putting forth at least 2,500 dollars in repairs not including regular maintenance. Basically, that's 2 cars in 2 years that have resulted in almost immediate repair bills from a "reputable" dealer. I'm at my wit's end with the implication of "satisfaction" in the purchases made with this dealer. Overall great experience. Looked on the website and saw a nice used bmw that I really liked. Booked an appointment for 10am the next day to take a look at the car. Met with one of the reps Bryan and he did an excellent job of customer service, transparency about the vehicle history, as well as letting me test drive the car and providing me with all the information I needed during the initial stages of the sales process. When it came to the pricing and negotiations there was some back and forth offers (just the nature of sales in general) but I felt that I got the best deal that I could've for the car based on the research I did prior to coming in. (obviously the dealer will make a profit; you don't know how much they make off you but that is the name of the game) Ended up signing on the spot and drove the car off the lot the same day. The process from start to finish took about 2 hours which was great since my time is valuable. Another thing I appreciated that the dealership did was offer driving arrangements for me to drop off my original company car back at the company that I worked at about 20 minutes away from the dealership. They had a person ready for me to pick me up to drive me back so I can take the car home without any issues. They did this free of charge which was another thing that I appreciated. Overall great job guys, keep it up. Car sales and salespeople in general have the reputation of being sleazy or pushy, but this was not the case here. My wife and I had a miserable experience here and it is a nightmare. Our current vehicle is having engine and transmission issues so we took it in to be serviced and dediceded to speak to a salesperson. The salesperson just wrote on a blank piece of paper and did not give us definite number and spoke to us about nonsense for 4 hours. Everytime I tried to get a straight answer out of him he would just change the subject or tell me about how he doesn't need to drink coffee everyday. To make matter worse, the service department still hasn't fixed the original problem we experienced with our current vehicle. They boast about being the "top selling car dealership for Ford", but for my money I want a QUALITY experience, I don't want to hear about your QUANTITY sold. That does nothing for my family. If I could give Golf Mill Ford's Service Department zero stars I would. I drive a F-150 pick-up and do a lot of hauling with it. I went to get my brakes checked out by them four different times because the front end shakes really bad when braking. All four times I had to leave it overnight and all four times they said everything is perfect and that it is a balancing problem with the tires. Well I took it to a mom and pop mechanic shop in my neighborhood and would you believe it!!! IT WAS THE BRAKES! Because of how useless their technicians are at Golf Mill I had the joy of needing my pads, rotors and calipers all replaced. I will continue to buy ford vehicles but I will NEVER buy from or get service at Golf Mill Ford ever again! It has been sad to see so many good dealerships go under due to the economy. The people I interacted with here are complete snakes. This was a couple years ago so hopefully they have all lost their jobs and are now washing windows somewhere...though I doubt it. I came in looking for a 2010 Ford Fusion and immediately got a very slick feel from the salesman I met. I work in real estate, so I am acutely aware of "sales tactics" and how people talk and act when they want you to buy something - so needless to say it didn't rub me the right way. I took a nice car on a test drive and was interested in talking numbers with the salesman. We went inside and began the standard process of him writing a number down of a piece of paper, then me saying that wasn't good enough, then him writing a new, larger-font number down, etc. So we went back and forth and until we got to a decent price - I wasn't thrilled with it, but I thought it was fair for what I was getting. At this point, since he could tell I was relatively close to buying the car, he called over his manager to close the deal - he of course just said his manager would like to meet me and say hello...yeah right. So the manager sits down and looks at the repeatedly underlined and circled price on our little piece of paper - he immediately looks at the salesman with eyes that say "what the fuck are you doing? why did you offer this guy this low of a price?". Upon seeing the manager's reaction, the salesman immediately starts back-tracking, trying to explain that the big, circled, underlined price was NOT the price he was offering the car for. No, of course not. He was offering the car for this OTHER price, that was written really small and had been scratched out at some point - THAT was the price. The big, circled, underlined price? Well, he couldn't really explain what that was - but it definitely WASN'T the price of the car, no sir. I told them I expected them to honor the price I had been given, and I was not interested in buying the car at any other price, no matter what it was. When the first words out of the manager's mouth indicated they still were not planning to honor the price, I stood up and told them I was no longer interested in buying the car, and walked out of the dealership. The salesman was literally power-walking along side me, trying to get me to reconsider. It didn't work - I drove off and ended up at a competing Ford dealership, where I bought my car the next day. The salesman and the manager both called me the next day, apologizing for the "misunderstanding" and tried to get me to come back in. With the least amount of cursing I could muster, I told them I was not interested and had in fact already bought a car. The economy is still down and it isn't like cars are exactly flying off the shelves. There are way too many decent, somewhat honest dealerships in the Chicagoland area to waste anytime with these folks. read more

This is an update...... I recently took my Ford to this place again because I needed something checked and decided to also get an oil change. I know if it was so bad before why again? Well since the car is a Ford I take it to a Ford dealership. Once again they proved that they aren't worthy of my business! The whole process took around four hours and my car was done and sitting out front for one hour. I finally got up to ask and the guy behind the counter said ..... "oh yeah just go to the cashier" and waved his hand. I have noticed a few things because I have been a customer for many years ever since Bert Wienmann Ford closed its doors. The place used to have Golf Mill Ford on it's stationary. It used to be a great place to do business until a few years ago if you look there is no Golf Mill printed on its stationary it say's " Quick lane auto center". I went back through all my receipts and notice that the service seriously deteriorated around the time they made this change. I used to be a loyal Ford customer until this experience. Ford was the family car and I have had numerous Fords and was quite satisfied with Ford. Not only the car but the service. I have lived in various states and dealt with Ford. This place has turned me off and a few years ago when I wanted to buy a second car I was planning to buy a Ford Escape Hybrid but the level of disrespect, disinterest and unprofessionalism shown by the people you have to encounter at this place made me go out and buy a Japanese car. 1. So point number one: this place began to suck when thier Ford affiliation was changed. I know around a few years ago, a new manager was hired and that's when the entire place went down the tubes. They also went from Golf Mill Ford to Quick lane auto center. 2. Point number two: I have never actually met a mechanic only see them around, so my review has nothing to do with them or the quality of thier work, however everyone else I have had to encounter there needs a serious attitude adjustment or plain simply needs to be replaced! 3. Point number three: I will never go there again, nor would I recommend anyone I know to buy a car from this dealer, if they have thier heart set on a Ford car then go to another Ford dealership because the level of stress you have to encounter when taking your car in for service or parts replacement will become a serious issue in the future, and if you like being treated like crap from the moment you enter the door and then have to wait 5 hours for an oil change or wait five hours for them to give you a call that your repair will take another 5 hours then go for it! Otherwise you are better off at a real Ford dealer because I am under the impression this place isn't as of a few years ago. read more

The finance guy was not happy that I was not financing the car and was rude to both me and my 75 year old father. The customer relations manager was obnoxious and talked to me like I was 5 years old. No need to go into further detail, but you should all have the priveledge of experiencing the circus clown analogy that he uses. NOT Stop worrying so much about the survey people are going to fill out. Provide good service, and the survey will take care of itself. I particularly disliked that they made my 75 year old dad who has cancer stand out in the 5 degree weather leaning into the car as the the saleman sat in the warm car and showed the features to my Dad. I was told that if I got my vehicle in at 7:30 I could be out by 10-10:30, and was encouraged NOT to rent a vehicle. To make a long story short my vehicle sat in their lot for 2.5 hrs and never made it into the repair bay. Then I was given excuse after excuse, and everyone passes the buck and blamed someone else. After some time, I finally got in touch with a salesman named Dominic and we talked about the car. We did some light negotiations and settled on a fair price. He said he would email me that night with more information and how to proceed with the sale.... I never received an email. However, the next day I looked at the listing on cars.com and found the price of the vehicle had been raised by a few thousand dollars. I assumed they decided they wanted to make more money on the car than what we talked about so Dominic was giving me the run around. I called them back to see what the deal was. First call, he picked up and hung straight up. I tried to get back in touch with him and he never picked up. I called the operator and asked for Dominic and I was told that he wasn't working today. Finally, I called and asked to talk with a sales manager who put me in touch with Dominic. Lies, lies, lies. Dominic said "oh, you didn't get my email? That car sold the night we talked." I definitely didn't get an email, and the price of the car was definitely changed that next day. Why would you change the price on a car that sold the day before? You wouldn't, and they didn't. Of course I understand they want to make as much as they can on a vehicle, that is their business, but dishonesty and deceit is not the way to do that. It perfectly symbolizes the poor customer service you can expect at Golf Mill Ford. And when it turns out service and protection packages you purchased don't actually cover work that they are supposed to cover, this business considers it sufficient to tell you that the person who sold you the package was dishonest and no longer works there. But rather than make it right and cover the repair or refund your money, they tell you there is nothing they can do for you. If you value truth, transparency, and integrity, take your business elsewhere. Golf Mill Ford represents all the shady snake-oil sales practices most people hate about car dealers. I'll be honest, I almost canceled my service appointment at this place after I read all the negative reviews on Yelp. Not having a conveniently located Ford dealer near my city apartment, this one is closest to my work. However, I was relieved and happy to find that I had an excellent experience here. My 2010 Fusion Hybrid started making odd grinding noises during and after braking. I figured it was typical brake wear, as I am at about 46k miles, but this being my first hybrid, and it having the regenerative braking system, I wanted to get a dealer to look at it. I also had some concerns about my MPG, and an interior piece of trim that was popping out. I made an appointment for 8am on a Wednesday, and was 30 minutes late due to my misjudging I-90 traffic. The service center didn't seem to have a problem with it. I got my car checked in with Rick, one of the managers, and he was polite and efficient. He called me about an hour later to report on the findings; the rear brakes needed redoing, nothing came up in the mileage check, and the trim needed to be ordered and installed at a later time. He suggested two maintenance jobs--throttle cleaning and fuel injector cleaning--that were due around the mileage I was at, but he clearly stated that it was just a recommendation, nothing more, and that the car was fine without them. The car was done a couple hours later, and everything looked good. A week later, the trim part came in, I got an automated call from their system to let me know, and I came back to get that installed, again with no problems, and it was done in about an hour. Overall, I was really pleased with this experience (aside from the fact that my extended warranty didn't cover any of the repairs, but I had expected as much). I'm sorry that other people seem to have had some bad experiences, but perhaps there has been a change in management or attitude over there, because I was honestly impressed. read more

Everytime I come here for service they try to get me to spend at least $500 more than I need to on stuff I didn't ask for. Most recently, I came in because my heat shield was hanging below my car. All I wanted was for them to screw it back on or remove it. They told me they removed it, then I get home and check under my car and it's still there! Even the invoice says they removed it. So, they don't deliver on what they say they're going to do. I went back and they took care of it pretty quickly, but I doubt I'll be going back.... read more
