I have a ford and called to get a service quote, I knew exactly what I needed and was just calling around to compare prices from various shops, some dealers, some privateers. Full details below but in the end these guys wanted twice as much as another ford dealer just 15 miles away. I had to call these guys three times back to back to back. First guy sent me to someone's voicemail, weird. Second call the service guy couldn't quote parts and service so he had to transfer me, then the parts guy had to transfer me back to service to get the labor but failed. Third call, I had to provide the service guy the part price and ask for only labor quote... Transferred again and finally some guy says $377 labor only. Haha... Crazy overpriced jerks! The next dealer I called (riverside ford) gave me the complete quote parts and service with zero transfers with the labor charge of $177! Less then half! Pretty obvious I won't be wasting any money with golf mill. To boot, everyone I dealt with in service at golf mill had a lousy attitude. The only guy with a decent demeanor was the parts guy, which is why I'm giving 2 not 1 star. read more

I didn't even intend to buy a car and they still wasted my time. I guess shame on me for believing dealership people once again. I got an unsolicited text from "Jackie" telling me they had a buyer interested in my car and if I was interested in taking it to them. I've gotten letters like this in the past but this time I had my Camaro convertible on cars dot com so I figured this could've been legit. I texted her back and she called me right away to set an appointment. I missed he appointment so she texts and calls me at least six times through the course of three days so I figured she must have been serious. I go over to the dealer finally only to have the manager drive my car around the block and then try to low ball me telling me that it's because it's a convertible late in the summer and it'll probably sit on the lot for months before it's sold. I told him I was only there because I was told there was a buyer. He didn't know what to say except "I'll let her know." SMDH. I guess whatever it takes to make money. read more

Leased New 2016 Ford F150 I visited the dealership to test drive a upfitted F150 SCA Performance F-150 Black Widow. Robert Zentak, sales associated, was very informative about the trucks they have upfitted and they had several on the lot. I was happy they let me test drive this one in the front that was on display, outside under the spot light. I did not end up buying the vehicle because they could not lease the upfitted models. I felt no pressure to buy something else. They had a great selection of trucks, with some new 2016 F150 still on the lot. I went back a few weeks later to lease my new F150. I worked with Damian Swierbutowski, sales associate. He was good with giving me information on the truck. He and the sales manager, Dominik Dybala, made sure they clarified my lease end situation and process on my truck I was turing in. We were able to come up with an option in case Ford required some payment after the lease inspection. Also, I was given a few options for leasing or financing the new truck. I never feel 100% comfortable with the car buying process because I want the best deal possible . Overall my experience at Golf Mill was good. read more

Its a shame that you have to give a place like this even 1 star to write a review on it. This place is nothing but a place of thieves, cheats, and jerks. I have NEVER been jerked around in my entire life. 3 weeks ago I went in to buy a used car. My credit isn't awesome and neither is my boyfriends. They ran our credit and told us that we would be able to get us into the car we wanted for a reasonable price. We asked specifically how many "ifs" there were in getting that price. Mark said he did this every day and that "this is what we do". Fine. Then we didn't hear back from them. A week later I called wondering what was going on. They said that they didn't have our information and were waiting on us. Ok. BS, but fine. I sent it again. Then we waited some more. A nother week later I called again. The financial director said that the bank they were going through was closed for a week and we would hear back from him on Friday. We didn't. I call again. They said that its a "sure thing" and "not to worry". So I finally show up. Oh SURPRISE! "The deal we said wouldn't be a problem IS a problem. Your monthly payments are going to be $150 more per month than what we said would be the maximum you would have to pay." Thanks. I took my '98 Ford Contour with 108k miles on it back. Purchased a brand new 2016 Ford Explorer from Golf Mill Ford which turned out to be a lemon. After 8 months, Ford replaced the vehicle with a 2017 Explorer in September of 2017. I came to get my tires filled in March of 2018 and was not told of a charge ahead of time. So I included that on my survey, well now I'm having issues with my clutch sticking while in park and the service manager Oscar Lozada is REFUSING to service my vehicle after spending 45k at their dealership. Bought car in November and lease paper did not finalize till first week of January. Wound up having To call Ford to get them to figure out the problems. I had a very good experience. I was looking to purchase my first car, and their selection was outstanding. Tons of models and options all on-site. The sales person I worked with was Darwin. He was extremely attentive, and was able to find the exact car I wanted. Someone drove the car from Milwaukee to Chicago in order for me to take delivery during their 0% APR offer. After purchasing, Darwin would call me every couple months, just to make sure everything was still great. So I'm going to just start of by saying I have never done a review and didn't want to do a review but I had such a bad experience that I wanted other people aware. So I cant sit here and state several my bad experiences but I dont feel like writing a book. So I'll write the main reasons starting with unorganized after the deal was done I had to wait about and hour to an hour 45 because they screwed up paperwork. Then I figured i would get a maintenance package on my vehicle incase something that wasnt covered under warranty such as wear and tear items, but with this package a few wear and tear items were, and when it was time to get break and rotor work done long story short I had to pay out of pocket (on top of paying monthly for the package). And obviously wasnt just going to let that slide because I was paying for something that I ended up not having because golf mill screwed up and never put it into the system that I had the package so Ford couldn't do anything about it. So leads me into my next complaint customer service was terrible, never returned phone calls in the beginning I always had to keep calling to finally get ahold of someone then when I got ahold of someone and actually thought I was getting somewhere I was told I'd get a call the next day with more information. Well I'd have to call another several times few days later.( I understand people get busy, I figured I would wait and maybe get lucky day 2). Wrong. I'd have to continue to be a pest. Also wasn't spoken to very nicely a couple times. So I highly recommend avoiding them as much as possible. read more

Quick Summary: You got lots of time to waste and want to spend it with an aggressive dishonest car salesman, this is the dealership I recommend. Otherwise I recommend spending the time in purgatory. I walked in today with only one objective. Check out the C-max hybrid. "Oh", said the salesman that attacked me almost before I got out of my car, "if you're interested in a hybrid, then you must want to see our Fusion." So I tried to get in the fusion on display in the showroom, but couldn't fit. "Oh", he said, "that's just because the seat is not set properly. Unfortunately the battery is dead (on this electric hybrid car!!) so let me get the battery charger, then we can adjust the seat for you." After waiting for the battery to charge, I adjusted the seat, got in, and found there was practically no headroom. I asked if they had a model without a (useless and potentially leaky) sunroof. Oddly, that feature eats up several inches of headroom. The salesman said he'd pull around a Fusion without a sunroof, but it wouldn't be a hybrid. I said I really came in to see the C-max. "You don't want that, it's smaller than the Fusion." So I tried the Fusion without the sunroof and it did have a lot more headroom, unfortunately it was still pretty hard to get in and out as the seat was far back from the door and the door frame was so low I practically had to double over and maneuver around the steering wheel to get out of the car. (I'm 5'11' and 250 lbs.) As I got out of the car I asked the salesman, if he was sure the C-max was smaller, because online it looked higher than the Fusion and on the web it said it had the most driver space of any hybrid."Nope," the salesman lied for the third time, "you wouldn't be interested in the C-max" and then for the first time uttering the truth, saying "anyway, we don't carry them here." What an entire waste of my time. But I followed him back into the showroom on the promise that he would check with the manager if any were coming in. I really just wanted to see the C-max brochure to compare the features with the Fusion. I was surprised to find no brochure rack or displays. So when the manager walked up and asked if he could help. (The obvious reason the salesman had gone to get him.) I said why no brochure display? "We have brochures, we just keep them in the drawer. If you want one, you have to ask." "Otherwise," he explained to me, if they leave them out, "people just take them (:-0) and never look at them." If they really want the car specs they can go online and get them." So I left the dealership, went online (YES, the C-max clearly has more interior space than he Fusion) and I left this review. Bottom line: Is it just me? I may be a grumpy old man, but they have over 160 reviews and only two stars. So you tell me if this is the dealership where you want to spend your time and money. read more

On a 4 year old suv my costs were coming out to be 1-2k per visit!!! Hosed....I was hosed....every time I came in here, hosed again. I'm starting to wonder if they were breaking things on purpose? I have not purchased a vehicle from here, but i have gotten 2 oil changes here now and also had a tire repaired that had a nail in it. All three times the service was great, The only complaint I had was that they use an automated message system to let you know your vehicle is ready, and it did not work that well. Than we had to come back like 4 times to get everything straightened out bc of GEORGE and his dumb arguments making no sense whatsoever..he kept playing with the numbers and at one point he took out the extra charges but put in 24.99% interest rate so it would still come out the same total! My last three car purchases have been through Golf Mill Ford, however this time it was under different circumstances, I wanted to buy my first BRAND NEW CAR (a personal big deal). I was set up with Ruben Garnica who patiently helped me find what I was looking for: a 2014 white Ford Escape. As luck would have it the only one in the lot was being sold as I walked in. We took a few others for a spin to see if I would like another style or color. However Ruben and Mario (one of the owners - also a very nice guy) saw that I has my heart set on the white Escape. To whom it might concern: The worst experience with customer service. I would never buy another Ford car especially at this location Golf Mill Ford at Niles, IL. Over the pass 15 years I have been Ford customer. My fist ford car was a beautiful Ford 2005 Mustang, second a 2008 Ford F150 pica up, third a Scape Hybrid and recently a 2014 Ford Edge leather interior three of them brand new. I did not have any problems with my first three. On the other hand, the fourth one it has been a problem since day one. The first week after purchasing my Ford age I started to heard a noise in the back sits when I was driving through a bumpy road. My first thought was is jus my imagination. After the second week I realized it was probably som loss nut and I should take it to the Dealer where I bought it for inspection, Golf Mill Ford in Niles, IL, for my surprise I was not hearing noises just in my head. In fact, there was a lose nut in one of the back sits. Who would of thought a brand new SUB,really, don't they test cars before they release them to the dealers. Second problem, the stitches on my front passenger sit becoming undone on the front back of the sit. I don't have any kids, kids are kids, and hardly my spouse ride with me since I the one who drives the SUB to work every day. Well, it was almost time for my second oil change 10,000 miles only in one year and half after I bout it. I hardly put 5,000 miles per year and I had a heated garage for the pass two years. So, I knew the weather nor my spouse had nothing to do with the stitches becoming undone. So when I took my SUB for a claim l this last pass Monday August 8, 2016, for a evaluation because my car still under the ford warranty plus a had bought an extra extended two year warranty protection. They took pictures and told me that they were going to "submit the claim" to Ford company. Two hours later they call me and told me that Ford company rejected the problem. So when I called them to find out why it was rejected becomes of course I was not happy about it, I paid almost $40,000 grand, for this car they told me that Golf Mill Ford never submitted a claim nor I was never there. After almost 30 minute of investigation between Ford company and the dealer for my surprise again ford told me even that dealer never submitted that claim to them, they supported they decision. And, when I asked the person from Ford company the name of her supervisor, she refused to give it to me and stead she put me on hold for a long time period even know she knew I was calling during my 30 minutes lunch time. I haven't be able to reach Ford company supervisors and for that reason I would never buy another Ford car especially at this location Golf Mill Ford at Niles, IL. read more

Zero stars!! Take your business someplace else. This dealership likes to lie to you, play you for a fool, take advantage of you & never honor their word. I could go & on but you get the point. I went on Saturday to test drive a car. Made clear to the salesman I will just be applying for financing then we shall take it from there. Made clear, I'm not bringing any money down & they said sure no problem we're just gonna see how we could help you. Went & they supposedly got me approved but for a high interest rate. When it came down to inquiring who was giving me the loan they refuse to tell me. I didn't agree with the rate then Damian the manager comes along & tells me I'll lower it by a point. Since, when does a regular manager have the authority to lower a rate ? Maybe I'm old school but isn't that the job of the finance dept to discuss with me. They refuse to tell me who's in finance so ,I couldn't speak to them. Then Damian knew from the start my situation & that I will not be bringing money that day. He got snotty & was upset that I didn't have the money. Then he told me to go get the 1,500 from the atm machine nearby. I'm like atm 'a have a limit & usually banks do as well on how much you could take out. He kept insisting that I go get it , that's not true he claimed. Maybe not his bank but mine does. Then he wanted me to leave a deposit, get a co-signer that way I could leave with a car & not wait til Monday morning. My sales person ( Sebastian )was a young individual around his early 20's , he was nice in general. I felt like I was talking to my own son. Then Damian kept insisting to call a sibling or someone to help me out that day. He simply wanted me to take a car regardless if I was purchasing it by myself or with someone helping with cash immediately for a down payment. Need I remind you, I stated it was just to apply & see if I qualify. They probably don't expect people to be truthful as they aren't truthful themselves. I felt taken advantage of due to the fact of my situation. Never ever have I experienced such treatment at a dealership. Then after 2 weeks, they call me to tell me the car is still available. I return the call & ask so what's the percentage rate that you were able to get it lowered by, he couldn't answer me. Sebastian said my manager Damian will call you back . Til this day, I'm waiting for that callback. 2 weeks later, Sebastian calls me telling me he's got a lower rate but it turns out it was the same original rate. Then a week later he calls me to tell me the car that is still available. I return the call & was told by another salesman that the car sold a week ago. I'm like, he just called me to tell me it's still there. Unbelievable he was lying. Turns out the car was sent to auction. Good luck trying to speak to someone in finance, a good salesman & manager. After this incident, I did give them another chance & I got treated worse. Don't bother with this dealership. They try to take advantage of you. Treat women as they're clueless. Beware!! read more

I bought my Ford about five years ago and have been going to Golf Mill for approximately two years. Every time I am in there the employees are super friendly and helpful. Twice I brought my car in to get the tail lights checked and they fixed it for free because it was such a minor thing. I was in there this past Thursday for an oil change and to have things checked out. They fixed a loose panel for free, changed my oil, called me to inform me of anything else I needed done and only did the things I gave them the ok to do. When I got there I had been signed up for a program to help me save money on my next service, was given a list of things I need done on my car, and my car was washed. These guys are awesome, honest, and I appreciate their appreciating their customers in this time of economic hardship and greed. read more

Everything was fine until the sales manger got involved. Sales manager said the additional equipment was besides the advertised sales price. I confronted his dishonesty, and mentioned that I'd spoke to three sales people on the phone before coming down (I live and hour and a half away) and had all indicated the equipment was included. The service department is beyond terrible. I inherited a company car that happened to be a ford Taurus and the car is great but again service dept. is the exact opposite. This is now my second time back and I came back in hopes that the first experience was just a fluke but boy was I wrong. I brought the car in on scheduled appointment for a simple oil change, tire rotation and filters. Service manager said that it would be about an hour. So I walked over to Panera Bread had breakfast and worked. I come back at 1030 and my hasen't even been put on the lift. Not a word about the delay and I had to hunt them down. Its currently 1130 and still zero communication going on. Same terrible experience all over again . Lets Just say that this will be the last time I ever come here. My husband and I decided to buy a new car. Within an hour, he found a slightly used 2013 Ford Escape located at Golf Mill Ford at a great price. He asked them to pull the car so that it would be ready when I got there to look at it. As promised, the car was already up front when I got there. I was greeted by salesman Darwin to start the process. Took the test drive, loved the car but now it was down to the financing. I think most people agree that buying a car from a dealership is about as bad a getting a root canal. I only had one previous experience with buying a car from a dealership, and where the overall experience was OK, I felt deceived when it came down to financing. They told me what my monthly payments would be, but didn't include the taxes and fees in that amount and in the end my payment was more than what they originally quoted. Golf Mill was quite the opposite. Darwin asked me what I wanted my monthly payments to be and I told him. He asked me to provide an absolute maximum amount from there so they had a range to work with. I'll be honest, I didn't give a very large window for them to work with but they made it happen (with all the taxes and fees included) and at a great rate! Jeorge the finance guy is a finance guru! Darwin was a great salesman, not pushy in the least. He was honest and up front with me throughout the entire process and made the experience much better than a typical dealership visit. I went to Golf Mill Ford to test drive a Focus. Golf Mill Ford is your clichéd auto dealer. It's high-volume, high-pressure. 1. The salesman told me that he would get in trouble if anyone found out that he showed me the car invoice. Basically any dealer will show you the invoice. 2. At the first offer (so I hadn't even negotiated), the piece of paper with the offer was already filled with large, black permanent marked numbers and cross-outs. 3. He brought over the sales manager (a.k.a. the closer) to try to convince me to buy the car. 4. They were all about making the sale immediately ("What can we do to get you to buy today?"). 5. Strangely, they never requested my driver's license even though I test drove the Focus. I guess on the bright side they might not have been able to run a credit check without my knowledge. 6. I had to ask for my car keys multiple times. 7. I gave my name, yet was still repeatedly called "boss." I realize this is more personal preference than anything else, but don't call me what I would call the guy that cuts in front of me in line at the grocery store. read more
