On top of that service was awful and there were fruit flies buzzing all around you. How does this place even survive?.. and I'm shocked it has as many good reviews as it does. Am I the only one with taste buds?. The food had no flavor and was so far from authentic. Can we please stop trying to westernize Mexican and Asian food into this bland, unseasoned, tasteless crap.. I ordered the Loco Moco and couldn't eat any of it wout throwing a ton of Tabasco on it to give it some flavor. And even then I only ate a few bites because I was hungry. And I'm not one to waste food, but I had no desire to take any of it home. The rice was hard, the patty unseasoned, and the gravy was weird. The good stuff in life is very simple. It's the first long kiss on a second date. It's sharing a bowl of spaghetti a la lady & the tramp style. It's when he says 'I'm sorry' and you say 'So am I'. When it comes to satiating your hunger, the good stuff is simple yet wholesome goodness as well. Like breakfast in bed on a lazy Sunday... Mom's sandwiches made with love... that perfectly grilled burger on your very first BBQ... The good stuff in the little diner in El Segundo? You can't find that here. Instead, you will find wimpy salads (even though the farmer's market is right next door), uninspiring sandwiches, dry/stale burgers, and a line full of people waiting to eat all this mediocre food. Food quality and service have gone down hill here since my previous review. We had had mediocre food the last few times we went in but the service was always friendly. But our last visit was really bad. My girlfriend's steak was so tough she couldn't chew it. After 3 bites she sent it back. Her son's wrap was terrible, cold and the chicken was dried out. My food looked unappealing but tasted ok. Our server said she had to charge us for the meal that was sent back uneaten. We asked to see the manager whose only compensation for the inedible plate of food was to take one glass of wine off our bill. Since this happened on their "wine Wednesday" this amounted to a $3 discount. We left disappointed and will not return. read more

Easy, free parking in the garage next door. Service was good, not exceptionally friendly - maybe because it was toward the end of the evening and everyone wanted to go home. Yes, we ended up closing the place down and they seemed a little irritated that we were still sitting at our table talking a few minutes after 9. Of course, they discontinued water service (get out!), started counting the change in the cash register very loudly (get out!), and the server was sighing and put her purse on her shoulder (get out!) Seriously, we were there only a few minutes after closing. You'd think they'd let us chill a few minutes while they were doing other things to close up. At least they didn't come up and tell us to leave. We got the numerous hints. As for the food, it was pretty good. Three of us got the flank steak special. One dining partner got the spaghetti special. Every finished everything. It was pretty good. I thought the flank steak was a tad bit tough (for flank steak) and a bit bland, but definitely good enough to eat up. My dining partner thought his flank steak was FANTASTIC. The vegetables, were the BEST vegetables I've had. Perfectly seasoned and a really good variety of broccoli, peppers, squash, carrots, cauliflower, YUM!! I would definitely go there again, but earlier in the evening and would order something else. read more

This is kind of your run- of- the mill restaurant. The food is good but not spectacular or gourmet. The service is good but not amazing. The decor and set - up, which seats about 50, is sufficient for quick and uncomplicated meal. It is located in downtown el Segundo next to the 99 cent store. They serve beer and wine, fyi. read more

Good Stuff El Segundo never fails to disappoint. I've never had a decently served meal here and the only reason I went today was because i have a gift certificate that was given to us by a friend, (which, i might add...i didn't even use. I prefer to pay for my right to bitch about poor service). My daughter and I came here for an early lunch after a mid-morning workout. We asked if we could sit outside and were told yes. Thereafter it took our server over ten minutes to greet us. Matter of fact, the hostess ultimately came outside and took our drink order. The server finally came by about 5 minutes after that and finally took our meal order. This took around 40 minutes to be prepared and served. We were at the point of walking away when the server finally showed up with our meal. Needless to say that by this point the meal was ruined for me. There are plenty of places in and around town that appreciate my business and I will be spending my money there rather than here...i suggest the same of anyone who's looking for a good meal and good service at lunch around El Segundo. True, Good Stuff is NOT Nobu, Mr. Chow, Melisse, or any other high priced, high ego gourmet restaurant, but it doesn't claim to be. The menu is large, the food is good in a comfort-food kind of way and the prices are very reasonable. Not the mention the laid back small beach town type atmosphere. I am actually quite surprised at all the negative feedback regarding the service. I've eaten at GS more times than I care to count-at all the various locations-and I've never had a problem with the wait staff. I'm always greeted with a smile and the food comes quick enough that you're not left wondering if they had to go harvest the food, but not too quick that you wonder if it's been pre-prepared. I am a fan and will continue to be. Plus, their chicken lime soup is to die for. read more

Ordered the crab cake Benedict- DONT EVEN TRY THIS!! Made fully with imitation crab and was mushy from being frozen far too long. The poached eggs were overdone. The breakfast potatoes were still raw! Waitress tried to resolve and get us something else, so we tried the chicken tortilla soup- even worse. So I ate some toast and scraped up the roof of my mouth from being too toasted and left hungry. This establishment is hypocritical of its name. Nothing good about it at all. read more

I use to like this place but will not return. Management has lost control of the kitchen. My experience; We order a BLT, the bread was toasted, they forgot to put mayo on the bread, so it was very dry. The bacon was strange (microwave?) and little on it. The service staff brought out the wrong order to our table and was apathetic towards customers. Brought us the bill, then gave us an additional bill including another customers credit card. Every Saturday morning we eat here unless we're out of town. Great food, coffee, and staff. The waitstaff takes great care of everyone. The California omelet with English muffins and fruit is my regular meal but when I'm feeling crazy I order the pumpkin spice pancakes and I only regret that I can't finish them all. The salsa on the omelets is a must. The daily specials are always tempting. Don't be afraid to ask for something special - they will add/drop items for you without any attitude. I like Good Stuff very much. I like the menu and the waitstaff is usually top notch. My friends and I eat there for lunch very frequently. Unfortunately a couple of visits ago our server stole $25 from us. Good Stuff has a customer loyalty program in which you are issued a card. Every time you pay your bill you present your card and the cost of you bill is added to the card. Once the card hits $300 you get $25 taken off of your bill. When our card hit $300 our server told us that we would hit $300 on our next visit, but on our next visit our total was at about $25. Our server who told us we were at almost $300 never brought us the register receipt that shows the balance on the card and we decided to leave the restaurant rather than wait for the receipt. I'm certain that it was as soon as we left that our $25 went into his pocket. On the next visit we were feeling pretty good since lunch was going to be a lot cheaper, you know because of our loyalty to Good Stuff. Then our waiter told us we only had $25 accumulated on our card. We told him that was a mistake and the manager came to our table. She wasn't able to do anything but she took the card holder's phone number and promised that the general manager would call him to straighten the matter out. That call never came. So the bottom line is we still like Good Stuff. But if you get seated at the table of the server who is a fellow of short stature, who appears biracial with a close beard and longish hair in a ponytail count your change because he steals. To the Good Stuff management: You should seriously consider firing this server. If he's stolen from his customers then he probably isn't sharing his tips fairly with the other staff and he will certainly steal from you store as well. BTW, he messed up my order too. read more

Through the incredible powers of Yelp we found this spot. The food was super delicious, clean, organic, super tasty. My husband and I live in New Hampshire but have a daughter living in this area. Every time we visit this is our very 1st stop! We have never ever been disappointed.
